I had an excellent experience with CA-NY Express. After 9 years I decided to move back to LA from NYC (east village). After doing some research, I called CA-NY Express and was immediately impressed by the customer service. I got a very reasonable and affordable quote, and the customer service rep was happy to answer my list of questions about packing, timing, and process. The movers came on time and were very professional and knew exactly what they were doing (parking a large truck on a small busy street in the east village was not a problem for them). It was a seamless, quick and easy process. They delivered my belongings in perfect condition to my LA home. CA NY express offers free storage for up to 30 days and delivery is included in the overall price. Being so overwhelmed with such a big life change, I felt so lucky to have picked this company/service. They made my life a lot easier.

NYC Express movers was amazing to work with! We moved from San Francisco to NYC. As we all know, moving is such a pain and you are worried that things will get lost, damaged or the moving team will be in a bad mood because..who likes moving?! They changed my negative attitude towards moving completely into a positive, worry-free experience. Every person I interacted with throughout my move was responsive, in good spirits, always happy to help, and never made me feel guilty for having to pack a few things for me here or there. The guys who picked up our stuff were extremely efficient! The guys who delivered my things even moved traffic in NYC to park their truck to get my stuff delivered - incredible! They did whatever it took to get my things delivered and had a smile the whole time. I would highly recommend anyone who is moving cross country to use this company.

What we especially liked about the process was daily tracking of our shipment and email communication with an adviser who is assigned to you and who is in constant contact with the moving crew.

I moved a 1-bedroom from New York City to the Bay Area (Peninsula). I surveyed multiple companies for quotes and CA-NY Express gave a competitive quote along with an in-person estimate. They were prompt in terms of the timing and facilitated an end of month move.

There was no issue or damage with furniture moved including a dresser and a couch. The self-packed boxes did not have an issue. The movers were friendly in reconciling the lists on both ends. In addition, once the truck was moving across the country, you received an email with a daily update on where the truck was. I would recommend the company for another move.

My wife and I had a relatively small move of about twenty packed boxes and a few pieces of furniture from Los Angeles to Connecticut. I researched companies for about a week, and I was having a hard time finding companies that both seemed legit and didn't have an incredibly high minimum charge. During a Google search I ran across CA-NY Express Movers and I am more than happy that I did.

From the beginning, I was struck by the fact that I never received any unnecessary scam-like calls to ask about my move once I gave them my info (I still get calls from other companies I declined). My consultant, Eric, was easy to work with and super responsive to my emails and calls. The first estimate I got was half that of all the other companies I had contacted, including an added guaranteed delivery date. I was even more surprised at drop-off when my final price was exactly what I had been quoted online!

On both sides of the move, the movers called me before arrival and were quick and professional. My stuff was picked up on the date I had reserved, and dropped off on the date I had guaranteed (for a relatively cheap add-on). I also received daily email updates about where my things were.

Overall, I have no complaints or negative things to say about this company. This move went so much better (and cheaper) than I had expected it to go, and I truly believe that is because I found this company. If I have to move back to LA for any reason, I will absolutely be going with CA-NY Express Movers again!

I am not generally inclined to write reviews however, the very rosy reviews of this company are highly suspect to me. My items arrived in NY with EXCESSIVE wear. ALL Of the boxes were crushed, 1/3 of the moving blankets "protecting" my furniture had holes from wear during transit and I found a number of broken items in boxes (including a metal grill pan that was broken). I have moved cross country twice and understand that moving takes a toll on your stuff. This however was more than excessive.

Additionally, the movers did not practice social distancing, took off their masks and refused to wash their hands. Upon delivery one was talking to his friend about how he wasn't feeling well.

I would choose another company.

Don't use this company. They have not responded to my complaints, which I share for you here:

Things started off great with quick responses from customer service and a sleek interface for getting a quote. The quote was pricey, but I decided that it must be because of the distance and good service. I was wrong. Things go downhill from here.

The move out of our 2 bedroom 1.5 bath apartment took 5 hours. We packed 100% of the items, so it is unclear why it took so long. When we moved out of our same-sized apartment, the movers from another company took 2 hours. Even my neighbors commented that they were surprised the movers were at the apartment for so long.

The movers spent excessive time and material wrapping and tapping items including those that did not require wrapping (e.g., a foam dog bed, a plastic desk chair mat, a plastic garbage can). The total charge for wrapping was $1,400, which is excessive. (Oh, and the plastic desk chair mat broke and has a big crack in it.)

The movers dropped several boxes on the ground outside when loading them on a dolly to move them from the property into the truck. There is damage to various items. None of them are priceless, but it is very disappointing given the price tag for this move. They also didn't inform me that it happened. I watched it happen through the window. Very unprofessional.

I was not allowed to verify the cubic feet in the truck, which would have been important to confirm that it matched the quoted number. Our movers to CA (other company) allowed us into the truck and showed the markings on the side that indicated how much space had been used with our items.

There was a huge issue with billing since the transaction was canceled as it was processing. They asked me to run a different credit card even though my bank had shown the withdrawal. Very shady. The issue is likely with their credit card processing vendor Clover, but there was a deep lack of empathy and ability to come up with a solution that would resolve any additional stress. I asked multiple times to get the accounting team to talk with my bank, and the customer service rep refused to put me in contact with them.

The movers scuffed the wall in both of my apartments.

The movers took with them a package of face masks that I had out for myself that was near where they put their coats/things and was not there when they left. They didn't pack the masks with any of my items. I assume this was by mistake.

The movers broke my water filter by dropping it on the ground after using it to pour water. I bought the movers Gatorade, but they used up all the gatorade and asked to use the Brita filter. They broke it when attempting to refill it.

This list has also been sent to the company, and they have no responded.

Not worth the money. I would not recommend it.
