Our experience using Bristol was awful and therefore we would like to request a full refund. On the day of the move, the driver showed up and did a physical inspection of our belongings and gave us a "worst-case scenario" estimate. For context, our initial quote was for 378 cf which then jumped up to 456 cf after adding those additional items. After his inspection, he told us that based on the amount of stuff that we had, he would quote us on 1000 cubic feet (cf). Once all of the items were loaded into the truck, the driver then revised his estimate and said that we actually only took up 900 cf resulting in a new total cost of $5,760. Not only was this significant increase in cost unexpected compared to our initial quote, but also this placed a huge financial burden on us by more than doubling our base-line estimate. On the day of the delivery in Nashville, we met the driver outside of our apartment building where we directed him to park the 18-wheeler in the alley where we could unload everything safely. After looking at the alley, the driver said that the truck would not fit and grew frustrated and impatient with us. We told him that we had spoken with building management and made sure that he would be able to pull the truck into the alleyway. He told us that we would not be able to do the exchange outside of the apartment building. Instead, he told us we had to meet at a different location and use a shuttle to deliver our belongings back to the building. He told us that he could run out and rent a U-Haul truck which would cost us an additional $900 or that we could rent one ourselves and it would cost roughly $100. Not wanting to sink any more money into this move, we had no choice but to run out and rent a U-Haul then meet, Keep in mind that the driver was getting more and more frustrated with us and kept telling us that we needed to hurry and that time was of the essence as he had another job to get to. He also said that we couldn't rent anything that was less than a 26 ft truck because our belongings would not fit. When we got to the U-Haul location, we asked if there were any 26 ft trucks available but since we didn't have a reservation, the only truck that was available was a 15 ft truck. We were then notified that the location we had originally decided to meet at had changed and now we would be meeting at a Walmart parking lot. In addition, it is ridiculous that there was no communication to the driver about the building and whether or not he would be able to fit the truck. This was shocking when we heard it and we had to scramble to get a U-Haul to shuttle our belongings to our apartment. When we got to the Walmart parking lot, we started doing the exchange between the truck and the U-Haul. This process took much longer than expected because the driver claimed that all the blankets wrapped around our items were his and he needed us to remove all blankets and coverings from our furniture and bulky items before they entered our U-Haul. This left all of our belongings more susceptible to damage and put the movers at a greater risk for breaking anything. Due to the driver’s demeanor of rushing us along, we had no time to inspect each large box to ensure that all of our items were accounted for. However, once the driver confirmed everything had been moved out of the truck, we truly believed everything was accounted for. We were also pleasantly surprised that all of our belongings had fit into the 15 foot truck with room to spare, not having to do multiple trips to and from the Walmart parking lot due to the size of the truck like we were told. This was interesting because although we were quoted at 900 cf, a 15 foot U-Haul truck only has 764 cf and yet we still had extra room. This is reason to believe that there is substantial doubt in the way the estimate was calculated. Once the move was finally over and we began unpacking our boxes and belongings, it was clear there were several missing items, including valuable possessions. Several of these missing items include:

-Duffle bag full of clothes

-A full length mirror

-Bose headphones (which I presume to have been stolen)

-Electric Razor

-Broken coffee mugs, broken bowls and also chipped furniture

-U Haul rental

-Watch

Although we did not choose to work with Bristol from the beginning, we expected professionalism and outstanding service for the amount of money we paid. Based on the several reviews found online, clearly we are not the only ones who feel that we've been mistreated and have had an awful experience working with them.

This company represents a fraudulent moving company and is promoting interstate scams.After this experience, we are filing claims to various government organizations.If you are planning an interstate move, AVOID using this company at all costs. Had I known what I was getting myself into, I would have rented a U-Haul truck and done the move myself. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY AND NEVER USE THEM!!!
