Big Boys Moving & Storage

I recently relocated from Westchase to Odessa. I asked around for movers with my circle of friends. Big Boys Moving and Storage were recommended to me by several happy customers. Immediately, upon calling, the sales person and their team made the process of setting up an absolute breeze. On the day of moving, I was still scrambling to get everything packed. The Big Boys were incredibly helpful and assisted me with getting the remaining things organized. The move itself was incredibly efficient. The guys moved my entire 1700 sq ft townhouse in just a few hours. They were extremely polite and careful with all of my belongings. Moving is always an extremely stressful process. Big Boys Moving and Storage made it an easy experience. I cannot thank them enough. They are an incredible value and I would recommend them to ANYONE that needs reliable, polite, efficient, and overall amazing service at a much lower rate than most of the other companies I received quotes from. Thanks again Big Boys, You guys are great!!

The moving coordinator Amanda was friendly, fast, and efficient! With less than 1 day's notice, my move was met with enthusiasm and professionalism. The movers were actually 30 minutes early, and wasted no time getting things on the truck. Robert H. and Cameron were a spectacular team! They were very courteous and respectful, detail oriented and showed a genuine interest in getting things exactly where we wanted them, how we wanted them!! The whole move took under 5 hours, including an hour and a half drive to the new house. I would not hesitate to call on this company, and specifically this dynamic duo of a moving team in the future!!

They moved me a little over a year ago and I just moved again getting the exact same result. These BIG movers arrived with a BIG truck and after the move was done I got the same BIG savings as I did A YEAR AGO!

I always refer and tell everybody about them and all of the people in my office use them.

I read some of the recent bad reviews and there’s NO WAY that the bad stuff these posters are saying can be true because THE BIG BOYS ROCK. Night and day differences!

Service cost: $356

  I went with this company because they advertised how careful their movers were and they wrapped everything to insure no damage to customer’s furniture. I was quoted a price of $99 an hour to load and unload and another $99 that covered gas and everything else.  I even went as far as asking if the $99 included the time to travel to the final destination.  Since I was moving from a small apartment it was calculated to take an hour to pack the truck an hour to unpack plus the $99 for all else for a total of $297.00.  I was thinking wow what a great deal and they take care of your furniture. I deliver time was between 3 and 5 pm.  At 5 I called the office and was told they would call when they were 30 minutes out.  At 5:18 the movers called to say they were still at a customer’s house and would be finished in about 20 minutes then they would be on their way. They arrived at 6:45 pm, so much for 3 to 5 pm.  The movers had been working since 9 am and you could tell they were tired.  They did not wrap my mirrors or my leather couch and chair.  They just shoved my couch and chair through the door which left scrap marks.  Then they tried moving my wood table through the door without taking the legs off.  The table got wedged in and by the time they got it out it has gouges in the top of the table.   The movers are following me and when I went to turn left the movers kept on going.  I had to chance the movers for 2 miles and finally caught them at a red light.  They thought they were following me but they were not. We get to our destination and when unloading they broke the pedestal off my floor fan and I had a small desk that had a glass top glued to the medal frame.  They broke the seal and now I have to be careful or the glass top will move. Then to add insult to injury they charged me $396.00 instead of the $297.00 I was quoted.  From beginning to end it was 2 hours and 35 minutes.  It took an hour and 10 minutes to load and 50 minutes to unload for a total of 2 hours.  What I was charged for was $99 and hour for loading, $99.00 for gas and $99 for their driving time.   I took pictures and sent them with an email (January 20th) explaining what happen and as of today January 28th and several calls and email later I have not heard from them.    I would not recommend this company as they do not keep their promises.   Update:  I wanted Big Boys to see the reivew I created so I sent them the  email I received from this site with the link so they could see the reivew.  What I did not know was at the end of the email there was a link to deactivate the review and Big Boy keeps deactivating my reivew.  So I had to go in and create this review again so they could not deactivate.  This is a very sneaky company.  .

Seriously, any positive review you read out there is written by the company themselves. This company is run by scam artists. I can't give too much information about my move because they do threaten to sue you if you give them a bad rap. They deserve to be shut down. If you want to spare yourselves (and your stuff) RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY FAR!! I was about to take this company to court but I really want to get this whole experiene out of my mind and focus on what is important in my life. I'm actually terrified to ever move again because of Big Boys. The quote you get MAY be the cheapest, but it will certainly NOT be what you will pay at the end. Double it. Triple it. Then you'll get a clearer picture to what you'll actually be paying. And to top it off they WILL damage your furniture and possibly break things in your boxes. The movers are NOT professionals. The sales team are LIARS. Customer Service is run by a psycho maniac robot (you must email them only and they don't give out a name of who you are speaking with). So just spare yourself some pain and chose a more reputable company!!

I scheduled a move Monday September 14th, 2015 with this company. I then saw their reviews rating ( 3.1 stars ) and called back to talk to Amanda to discuss their rating and got no answer, I left a message to please call me back ASAP no one called back. I called again Tuesday the 15th 4 times and got no answer, left 3 voice mails to please call me back. No one ever called me back. It is now Wednesday September the 16th and I have called all their listed phone numbers and am getting a message that this persons voice mail is not set up. Amanda said they would email me the contract but they haven't even done that. I called a different company to move me needless to say. I will be going to their office Monday to make sure they don't charge my credit card and that they don't just show up on my moving day sense I can't get a hold of them on the phone to cancel with them.

It all started with the salesman lying through his teeth. Despite knowing our time constraints he flat out lied and said they had a load heading up north the day the furniture would be picked up with room for our items. The furniture sat here for 10 days before being moved. Dealing with this company was about as bad as any I have dealt with in my entire life. They have 800 numbers no one answers. They leave messages to call the 800 numbers than no one picks up. They cannot even keep their billing straight and it took numerous phone calls to get it right. Again their mistakes not mine. They left pieces of the headboard at our house rather than packing them. If I had not noticed the bed would not have been able to be put together. You are better off moving stuff yourself than using this company. .

We hired Big Boys Moving and Storage of Tampa Florida for our retirement move. What was supposed to be the happiest time of our lives has left us distressed beyond words. The move began with the company sending a 24 foot UHaul truck with a magnet on the side drivers door with Big Boys Moving and Storage. The truck had to make 2 trips to Tampa to the storage unit. Once this company received payment to storage we complained and they told us to find someone else to move us out of storage. We had to hire another company. Upon moving us out of storage the movers and us were horrified at what we saw. Big Boys movers had taken our sleep number bed barely covered it with plastic never had the experience to put it in a Mattress box. The air chambers were broken. We've been in our new retirement home now 6 weeks and have not slept in our bed. Did you ever hear of movers placing dining room chairs on top of a table without pads. Our beautiful dining room set had huge cuts and scrapes all over the table & chairs. There are numerous items that have been damaged beyond belief. Over our 43 years of marriage we moved from NY to Pittsburgh Pa..to Boston Ma..to Spartanburg SC..to Florida with several moving companies and never ever have we experienced a nightmare of a move like this one with Big Boys Moving and Storage of Tampa.
