Easy Move.

Best Interstate successfully moved me from the midwest to the west coast. After having previous moves go bad, I was relieved to experience such professional care. I would recommend Best Interstate Moving and Storage to anyone looking for professional service and care in their move.

Long-distance move from Montclair, NJ to Ellensburg, WA

This company is a scam.

I feel like I have been scammed by this company and recommend anyone considering them to stay far far away. I booked Best Interstate for my move from NJ to WA in August/September. At first they were very responsive and friendly, but once the deposit was paid it was incredibly difficult to get information from them. I came home to a nasty message left for me by customer service about going through my final inventory, threatening that if I didn't get back to her right away it would delay my move. It would have been nice if an appointment was set up with information letting me know what I needed to do to be prepared in advance rather than having to speak to a representative with an attitude during an already stressful time. All of the details I discussed with Best Interstate never made it to the actual movers which led to several misunderstandings during the move - including not paying for materials to pack furniture, number of steps allowed with no extra charge and most importantly the fact that my belongings would need to be stored briefly before being delivered in Washington. Because of this, the movers had to adjust their schedule and my delivery date was delayed, leaving me with Washington without my stuff for a week and a half. After the movers picked up my stuff, Best Interstate tried to tell me that the weigh in came in higher than the estimate and I was going to owe more money in my balance. I requested my belongings get re-weighed because I didn't believe there was 900 pounds more than anticipated. The movers they booked were not responsive to that and eventually when I spoke to them they said there was no weigh in and I only owed what was in the estimate. Seemed to me that something very shady went on there. When my belongings were finally delivered, I noticed several pieces of furniture damaged and one item missing. The movers were not responsive to supplying insurance information. Best Interstate did try to track down some information, but it wasn't correct. I eventually got info from the movers but turned out they didn't have an insurance policy with the company they gave me. I cannot get in touch with them as their phone is not in service and they don't respond to email. I am now trying to get back in touch with Best Interstate. No one answers the phone and every person who's email address I have says they are out of the office on an extended absence. I trusted Best Interstate to book my move with a reputable company and since that obviously did not happen, I feel they are responsible for the damage to my belongings. This is the worst company I have ever done business with. They made a stressful situation infinitely more stressful than it should have been and don't even respond to help rectify the problem. DO NOT HIRE THEM!

Local move from Avon, NC to Leland, NC

Broker - Not a Moving Company.

Thought I was hiring a 5-star moving company to transport my goods between CT and NC. To my chagrin, Best turned out to be a broker (shame on me for not doing my research on them) that subcontracted the move to a very disreputable company in NJ. As a broker, one would think that Best would choose only "The Best". Unfortunately, that is not the case! Suffice to say..the move was a disaster on many levels, and Best basically wiped their hands of the entire affair once they received the down-payment. Customer service was virtually non-existent (when I actually able to reach someone), and the representative who originally handled our contract basically disappeared (I assume this individual either quit, or was let go). When I was finally able to speak with someone in authority (Stephanie), I found that person to be less than accommodating, and downright rude. Whoever happens to read this review..do yourself a favor and avoid this company at all costs. You'd better off going with a name-brand, and reputable nationwide moving firm.

Long-distance move from Raymore, MO to Davenport, FL

Nightmare, horrible experience

If I could give this company 0 stars I would. This company is a broker not an actual moving company. I planned the move 2.5 months in advance. The day (Saturday) they were supposed to show up they did not. I could not reach anyone until Monday. At that time they informed me that the moving company that they had contracted with had filled their truck and I would have to wait for the next one, a month out. I planned the move around closing on my house the following week. This caused a nightmare for me to move myself because all of the other moving companies were booked through the summer and Uhaul had no truck available in my area.

My advise is to choose a different mover and read the reviews. If you do choose this company be prepared to move yourself or try to find a different mover at the last minute.

The only good thing was that they did credit all of the money back to me.

Long-distance move from Clinton, MO to Davenport, FL

Worst company possible. Bo show on moving date.

This company was a nightmare! Their hard sell to get a deposit was terrible and they didn't show up on the day I paid $250 extra to guarantee. They offered no help and just said they canceled my move and was on my own. I'm reporting them to BBB. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. The buyer of my property worked with me but could have thrown our family out on the street. I did get my full deposit back but the emergency cost was of fining someone else doubled my moving costs. Just say no to Best Interstate Moving and Storage

Long-distance move from California to Pennsylvania

HORRIBLE & Never resolved

BIMS is a broker and does not use 5* movers as advertised. We had a terrible experience using BIMS in fall 2018. Movers weren't qualified, showed up drunk, vomited on job site, dropped washer/dryer on top ends and BIMS offered a settlement but never PAID! Nobody will respond to my followup. I have all proof and pictures of this experience.

Long-distance move from Whitesboro, TX to Rochester, MN

Rude on the phone

I had called simply to get information for an approximate estimate of what a full service mover would cost. I answered the questions I was asked, and because I was not ready to set up a service, the representative I spoke to felt the need to "teach" me about my options. He then started to question if his services were in my budget because I paused after the quote and insinuated that I would need someone else to pay for the move because I could not afford his services. I then, again, said that I appreciated the information he had given me so far, and that I was still collecting information from different companies as well as places like UHaul where you do it yourself. To that he responded "Good luck with your move. Jesus christ woman" and hung up on me.

All I was asking for was a quote, which he successfully provided. But the attitude I was met with because he wasn't able to close the sale was so unfounded and disrespectful, that to anyone who is just trying to compare costs, look elsewhere.

Long-distance move from Morrisville, NC to Marina Del Rey, CA

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

I never write bad reviews, this company was the worst I've ever experienced. Why are their mixed reviews on them? Because they’re a BROKER, not a moving company, so you have no way of knowing which company they will farm your move out to. Blake Johnson my sales rep who assured me they are great, gave me a total bait and switch. As soon as I signed the contact and paid, the nightmare began.

I also see they responded below, but I have already reached out to them to no avail AND to their 3rd party insurance company which is totally worthless. They’ll tell you your items are insured to get your business, but then say it’s 60 cents on the dollar for a claim, which basically means nothing, $4 on a $200 speciality lamp I have that they broke in half.

They assured me everything would be on time, and assured me they'd be in communication, and that they are very careful with my things. That was NOT my experience at all. Their customer service rep was so rude, hung up on me multiple times when I was desperate, didn't give a care in the world that I was without all my belongings for weeks on end, and they were so late delivering that everything came the night before my new job. My stuff arrived broken, stained, the boxes were so badly manhandled they were dented in and some were collapsed, my mattress was barely covered in plastic as they drug it across the ground, which by this point had multiple holes in the plastic …. and I pointed out the damage and stains to it. My standing desk no longer works, my bottom dresser drawer now catches, they broke a $200 lamp, scratched my music speakers, all kinds of things. So I was told at least I could file an insurance claim to make it right. For thousands of dollars worth of damage, they offered me $48 for the claim... let alone the fact that the claim took hours to complete. What a waste, what a terrible experience, I would NEVER USE THEM again. And I asked many questions up front, to try and mitigate the horror stories I've heard about movers. Sad to say, I got taken and they pretend to have the best track record, but once they have your things in transit, they stop caring, stop calling back, what a bait and switch company. :(

And "owner" please don't respond by saying to contact you if there's anything you can do. I already did... multiple times. It seems there is a reason your company has a terrible rating with the BBB.

What you can do to make this right is reimburse the damage you caused to my items. I’ve already reached out many times… but no response, just like it was when I was moving. :(

Long-distance move from Roselle, NJ to Boca Raton, FL

NJ to FL move

Not only did your company scam me on the job price by increasing the cubic feet on pick up costing an additional $3200 dollars but on the day of the move it is very stressful and you send a new bill of lading via email....at that point everything is packed and I am forced to sign the BOL on my phone (which I did not read) my fault there I should have taken the 30 minutes to read the contract instead of just signing it. I was never told that by using a credit card for that payment I would incur an additional charge of $250 dollars. If I had known that I would have said wait right here and I will go, get cash....2nd valuable lesson learned from this awful experience with your company. Today I get a text message from 631-401-7385 saying he will be delivering my stuff tomorrow (Sunday) starting at 8 am. I received this text at 430 pm on a Saturday. Let's put aside the fact that my original contract with Brett from Americas Moving and storage stated that my stuff was moving to TBD-carrier storage. 3rd valuable lesson don't believe anyone at your company. I was also never told upon pick up that I would have a delivery date selected at random that I never requested because when I spoke to Brett at Americas Moving and storage, I told him I wanted to store my belongings for at least three months. So why would I ask...Then I get the call today that my stuff is coming starting at 8am tomorrow...mind you i am in an air b&b until the middle of October which is why i wanted my stuff stored for 3 months at the original conversation. Now I have my stuff coming and nowhere to put it I called America's Moving and Storage and US interstate and rail (not sure that these two companies exist or are one in the same. I talked to 3 different people who weren't even sure who they were working for because they each said at different times in our conversations that they were one in the same. So long story short I left my apartment in Roselle NJ on July 14th thinking my stuff was safe and sound and going to storage for at least 3 months now I am told that my delivery is going to be tomorrow, and it can't be changed without incurring an additional delivery fee based at on the cubic square feet. I was told by your agent that my best and cheapest option was to get my own storage unit now with 14 hrs. or so before start of delivery at 8am on Sunday morning I was told it was cash upon delivery or postal money order....now I don't know who has 2 thousand dollars just laying around for a delivery they weren't expecting until they contacted the moving and storage company in Oct for delivery and the banks and post offices are closed and I was told there would be no exceptions. So I scrambled to get a storage unit, notify both companies, sent text messages to the drive with a delivery address and contact info for delivery Which there has been no response. I have no idea where my stuff is, or in fact that it will be delivered tomorrow Sunday starting at 8am (had to arrange people to be there since I can't be there) I am scrambling to get cash together and waiting to hear back from someone!
