Absolutely reliable!!

I'm just happy I don't have to look at those boxes anymore. I moved out of my two-bedroom place yesterday, and the experience was pretty simple. I had a lot of large rugs and heavy bags of shoes that would have taken me ten trips in my own vehicle. The team from Amex Moving & Storage LLC used plenty of padding and made sure the rolled-up carpets didn't get bent or dirty during the trip. They worked through the afternoon and stayed busy until the last item was off the truck.

Super happy with the service I got yesterday. The movers from Amex Moving & Storage LLC were efficient and didn't waste any time. I have a lot of electronics and some fragile décor, and they were very mindful of that while loading up. They even helped me set up the bed, so I'd have somewhere to sleep that night. It's the little things that make a move less of a headache. They were efficient, tidy, and very easy to work with from start to finish.

Very professional and caring.

I was really nervous about hiring a moving company because I had a bad experience before with stuff getting lost. But this time, everything went smoothly from the first phone call. Honest, reliable, reputable company!

The whole process took few hours and by the end I was exhausted just from watching them work. My stuff arrived exactly the way it left, and nothing was missing, which I know sounds like the bare minimum, but you would be surprised how many moving companies mess that up. Here is the thing about moving. You never know who is actually going to show up. I booked Amex Moving & Storage LLC based on a friend's suggestion, and I was still nervous until they arrived. Malvin was the first one through the door, and he introduced himself and then introduced the other two guys. They put down floor protectors everywhere before bringing anything in.

Last week, we had to schedule a move, and I thought it was going to turn into a long day. It actually went pretty smoothly. The boxes were marked clearly so they won’t get mixed up, and things weren’t just dropped in one corner at the new place. Items were set down where I asked the first time, which saved me from rearranging later. After they left, I could start unpacking right away instead of fixing problems from the move.

We recently used Amex moving and Storage to move my daughter from NYC

We recently used Amex moving and Storage to move my daughter from NYC to Orlando FL. Was quoted $3,500.00 for a tiny one bedroom apartment. The movers showed up at her Apartment as scheduled and then the nightmare began. Driver had to park another 100' away so his office immediately called telling me only 75' from truck to front door is included. I said fine, charge me for the additional distance.

Then they made it up to the apartment and said they didnt have a mattress cover included in the price and i would have to pay extra, then they said they wouldnt move TV's in the boxes they came in that they had to use their own crate and that would be extra, and then they said mirrors would cost extra and then they said that lamps need a special cover and that would be extra. I told the lady on the phone that i felt that this was one big bait and switch exercise and that i felt i was being taken advantage of. She immediately threatens to leave and tell her drivers to leave. I said no, i dont have time to start all over again and we had a deadline to be out of the apartment, plus they had my $700.00 deposit. She said for the extras it would be another $1,000.00. I was in shock. That is one third the amount of the entire move. I agree because they have me bent over a barrell. So now they get to Orlando a week or so later and the disaster starts all over again. Did i mention they demand Cash only at delivery so i had to get $3,900.00 in cash the day before arrival. They arrive at the house and now demand the Cash without allowing us to inventory or inspect the items. The driver get the crazy lady on the phone and she starts yelling and screaming at my wife and me and telling the drivers to just leave. Finally one of the movers opens the truck to allow us to make sure all of our stuff is there but still wont unpack it. Now she is yelling at him telling him not to do it. We finally resolve with the drivers and get our stuff, but it was an absolute nightmare. These people are crooks and will take advantage of you. I highly recommend you stay clear of this company. We have moved several times and have never been treated like this and have never paid Cash. Run fast and far from these folks.

They were fantastic from start to finish..

We had an extremely awkward move-in with our townhouse, as there was a very steep staircase, a very large couch, and lots of glass decor. Fortunately, their traveling staff did not fail to use sliders, remove doors and put all the delicate items into the protective wrapping as if it were their own. Nothing that was painted on the walls was marked in any way whatsoever!

When my lease unexpectedly ended, I had to move at the last minute, and the people who came out of Amex Moving & Storage really saved my life. The move was very quick, and the moving company arrived with all the equipment. It took them a few hours to pack, but they did carefully and had everything packed and over to my new apartment in no time. Very pleased!

Terrible Move

I was given a 72-hour window and was told the move would occur sometime between Sunday August 9th and Tuesday August 11th. On Saturday 8/8/26 I received a phone call from Michelle stating that my move was scheduled for the morning of Sunday 8/9/26. On Sunday 8/9/26 at 8:25am I was called by Michelle to explain that my move would no longer be able to occur on that specific day due to changes in the driver's route. Michelle was unable to answer my question, rushed me off the phone stating that I would receive a phone call 24-hours prior to the move. I never heard anything back from Michelle on Sunday 8/9/26. On the morning of 8/10/26, while out running last minute errands to prepare for this very far move from NJ to TX, I received a phone call from Amex. When I answered, it was Michelle, of course I assumed she was calling to tell me that my move was scheduled for Tuesday 8/11/26 as that would be 24-hours from when I received the call. However, she called to tell me that the movers were about an hour out from my home to come and complete my move. At this point it's 10am. An hour out on the day of! What happened to the 24-hour notice?! So now I'm running around, panicking, trying to navigate how to get home so we can ensure to make this move happens. I told Michelle I would be home within the hour, and she said she would call me when a few minutes out. So I stop everything I'm doing and rush home within the next 45 minutes. I receive another call from Michelle at about 11:30am, assuming now she's calling to tell me the movers are outside but she tells me that there was another move in Rahway NJ, about 20 minutes from me and the movers decided to pick up that load before heading to me, so now it would be a few hours before they got to me. A few freaking hours?! I can't begin to explain how frustrating this all was. Michelle and one of the movers come in the home and begin speaking to one another about the items that need moving. Majority of the move was in boxes, and storage bins. The only furniture I had was an oversized chair and an ottoman and a gaming desk and chair. After looking at all of my items, I was now being informed that I had additional items that were considered oversized and it would require more space in the truck to be utilized so they would have to increase my balance for the move by $2,200. So now I am being told that my balance left to pay is $3,600. How did my move total go from $3,400 to $5,600??? I explained to Michelle how that was an issue and I had no way to remove anything from the load. After making a phone call, Michelle said that $300 could be discounted, bringing my total owed to $2,900. I had no choice but to agree especially since I needed to be out of my apartment the next morning. So I put down another $1,000 on the balance and I allowed them to proceed with the move, of course trying to determine how I would come up with the extra money. Michelle explained that I would need to have the $1,900 ready when my belongings were delivered and I agreed. Michelle explained that it could be 3 weeks before I received my stuff as they would need to locate a driver that was going to Texas. I asked where my belongings would be in the meantime and she explained they are placed in storage until they have a driver. Michelle said they should have a driver by Thursday 8/13 and said she would call me Thursday. Thursday came and went without me hearing anything. I contacted Michelle Friday and she very nonchalantly explained that they don't have a driver going to Texas yet and I would need to wait until the next week to hear anything. It is now Monday August 17th, and I still haven't heard anything. On Tuesday I receive a random call from a man explaining that he would be delivering my items on Tuesday. It was clear that he was not an employee of Amex but a third party. Once the driver and his partner arrived, I'm instantly being charged extra for a "long carry" fee although I have an elevator and it was made very clear the space I was moving into, when I initially booked this move. So now another $350 later, my things are finally in my new home, and I should be happy, but I can't be because my belongings are damaged. It's clear that "fragile" or "glass" being written on boxes mean nothing. Everything is turned upside down. Then to make mater worse, my dishes were broken and some items damaged like one of my wooden shoe racks, completely cracked. Of course, this was communicated and I was informed that Amex and the movers are not responsible, stating that they didn't pack it so it's not their fault. This was the absolute worse experience I've had thus far. I will not be using Amex again and unfortunately, I would not recommend them to others. The increase in price with no real explanation alone is a scam.

Not a single tool was missing when they finished the job.

These guys did a great job moving my carpentry shop into the new garage. They loaded the table saw and the heavy drill press onto the lift without any issues. The wooden workbenches were wrapped up to keep the tops from getting scuffed or marked. They used heavy-duty straps to keep the lumber racks from sliding around in the back. Not a single tool was missing when they finished the job.

Fraudulent Moving Company. Do Not Hire

We hired AMEX Moving and Storage for an interstate move from New York City to Michigan. We had a signed binding estimate of $6,800. On moving day they showed up and demanded $11,900 — nearly 75% above our binding estimate — before they would touch a single item. When we refused to pay the inflated amount, they left without moving anything and kept our $1,000 deposit.

They then sent us a settlement offer to return our own deposit money, but only if we signed a global release of liability that would prevent us from leaving reviews on sites like this one, filing BBB complaints, or reporting them to government agencies.

We have since filed complaints with the FMCSA (US DOT 3101918) and the BBB. If this has happened to you, you have federal protections — visit protectyourmove.gov to file your own complaint.

The whole experience was so pleasant

I had to move out of my studio pretty quickly, and I’m glad I called this company. They were able to fit me in without making it complicated. The two movers showed up on time and got right to work. Fantastic.

Got help moving into a ground-floor unit where parking was tight. The movers didn’t complain once. They parked up the block and carried stuff over in smaller loads.
