These folks are crooks. I called for an estimate, then they called me back for a more detailed list of items to be moved and didn't even capture what I told them. Then the day of the move, they send a small truck. When I told them I had a 10×20 storage unit full top to bottom and several big, bulky items & boxes & bags. And, I was picking up several bulky items from another storage unit. Needless to say, all of my stuff did not fit on that truck.

So we get to my new place & they begin to unload, then the foreman for the job charged me an additional $300, which he said was to go back and get the rest of my items. Well, that never happened. Plus, the stuff moved doesn't have its matching parts. I have a China cabinet and chairs, but not my dining table, 1 half of my closet, boxspring but no mattress, 1 chest but no dresser or nightstand.

I called the guy who I made the appointment with & the best he could give me was another $300 to move what they were supposed to move on the 1st job. And then implied that he think it would be more so I would have to pay the additional time, when means I would pay extra for their gas too because I went over my estimated time. So that would be over $1200 for a $500 job.

These items, plus a lot more came all the way from Florida to here (Maryland) and it did not cost NEARLY this much. I only paid $600 for that move. And this stuff has been moved a few more times since the Florida move and STILL was only $500.

Now I have to pay another month of storage for both places and all of my stuff is not with me.

My suggestion is to uhaul, get a truck & hire a few day laborers. You'll be happier, wish I had.

DO NOT use this company. I moved memorial day weekend only 7 miles to the Canton area in Baltimore. After providing an accurate inventory of items to be moved, American Relocation quoted 3 hours. The job ended up taking 8 hours costing over double the quoted price! The movers worked at a slow pace and I ended up having to work extremely hard moving stuff to try to cut down on time and costs. Not only were the movers extremely inefficient, but they forgot several items on the truck. It was a nightmare trying to track down the missing items. Overall, it was an extremely disappointing experience and I will not use them again. I tried to give customer service the benefit of the doubt that they would compensate me or reduce the total price. However, they were very unresponsive and unaccommodating so I thought this review was necessary so the market knows what they are getting into before using American Relocation services.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $850

Submitted a request for a quote and was called back by someone who I could barely understand. Was told that the price for 3 hours would be $460. This is not a bad price, however the company is in Baltimore about 40 minutes from my house and they wanted to charge me for the drive time to my house. Telling me I have to pay for a 3rd or more of my booked time while your drivers take their time through traffic to get to me is a joke. Stay in your county with that nonsense.

So obviously, after reading the 5 stars it must be VICTOR lol the manager and his buddies trying to make this business better. Lied about several things to try to overcharge me. Unprofessional. Victor, the manager and the loaders are inconsistent with their stories as they rip you off. Also VICTOR is like a little high school girl getting her period. Fights you back, and doesn't believe in the customer is right. Amy's Baking company anyone ?(look up reference) When my stuff was delivered, it was on the wrong day making me have to leave work. My stuff was filled with crap, idk what it was sick I took pics. They dis assembled my lamp but didn't put it back. I tried to save 200 from another company much better, but was cheap and went here. Ended up paying more lol! But luckily, I am resolving there externally WITHOUT their help..Good luck :).

I couldn’t be happier with the local moving services provided by American Relocation. I have moved 6 times over the past 7 years spanning 4 different states, and this was BY FAR my best experience. The three men that came were on time, professional, and they were transparent about all costs. I noticed some of the reviews mention the added costs of tape, boxes, and packaging certain items, but in my experience, this is typical of a moving company. They were also the cheapest quote of 4 comparable local movers that I contacted, so the lower hourly price offsets the extra costs anyway. The alternatives are to 1) buy your own tape, bubble wrap, and have extra boxes for them to use; or 2) hire a few guys with a low hourly rate and accept that your things will not be taken care of properly.

With each moving company that I have used, the men arrive and work hard, but they usually tire out getting to the new location. I have had movers decide to unload everything to one room and call it a day, drop things, and carelessly bang furniture moving up and down the stairs. The point person for the three men, George, was phenomenal in directing the crew. They wrapped all furniture with total care and communicated very well with each other when moving stuff to/from the truck. We just moved to our forever home, but I would use them again without hesitation!!
