We went with American Relocation because our friend recommended them. We used this company two times. First we moved local and second we moved to California. I don't remember who gave me the first local quote but it was a great price and the move didn't take more than the estimated time. For California move Crystal gave me a fast honest quote on the phone and answered all my questions, she was very nice and patient with all my hundreds questions I had. We asked 4 guys, the were on time, worked quickly, efficient and were very respectful of my belongings. They did an inventory list and put sticker over all my boxes and furniture and gave me a copy also. We received all our furniture in great condition in less than 10 days, WOW I was surprised, I even didn't expect to receive our belongings so fast. I gave a good tip to the movers because they did a great job. Thank you guys!! I appreciate everything you did for us.

The entire experience of this move was very positive.  Gina and Crystal were very knowledgeable and clear with all of the terms of the move.  The hourly rate was very reasonable, all fees were upfront and in line with industry standards, the company provided some free packing materials and no extra charge for stairs.  I was moved from a third floor two bedroom apartment into an already occupied single family home.  Care was taken with every piece of furniture as they were wrapped in the provided blankets.  I provided stretch wrap and the gentlemen expertly used it to protect my mattresses.  The packing of the truck at the first location went very quickly considering the apartment was on the third floor and far away from the available parking.  Once the truck arrived at my final location, unloading went smoothly.  The movers put each piece of furniture and each box into the appropriate rooms, asking for direction with items that were un-marked.  They navigated around items that were already in the house carefully and nothing was damaged.  I don't know how they managed to get a heavy sleeper sofa into the basement, but they did, quickly and professionally.

American Relocation are the worst movers I've ever had, and I've moved LOTS of time. They quoted me $1078 to pack and move my one bedroom house 14 miles away. They ended up charging me over $2400! I gave them a detailed inventory of my things, they quoted 6 hours and took 12. They quoted me one hour of drive time, but it was 3 hours, at $140/hour. They charged another $250 because my dining table was heavy..They didn't need any extra tools or people to transport it, I have no idea how they justified that. The movers were exceptionally slow and sloppy at packing my things. Some items were broken (haven't made it through the claims process yet), and I'm quite certain that my nicest earrings (diamond hoops) were stolen. When they finished packing, they tried to talk me into coming back the next day for delivery because they were tired and had families at home. I had nowhere to go that night with my dogs and couldn't pay for 3 more hours of drive time, so I asked that they finish the job that night. They then tried to drop everything in my living room in the interest of time, but I had to explain to them that I can't move the furniture up and down stairs by myself. They complained about it repeatedly and threatened that if bulky items were unable to fit around the stairs, they wouldn't be able to get them out again. I had to pay them before they would unload the truck, but I contacted them after the move to explain what had happened and that I would never have booked this company if I had known the true cost. They ultimately told me there was nothing they could do. I really could not afford the amount they charged me, there were cheaper estimates but I thought that I would get a good company based on the reviews on this site (now I see that there are bad reviews on other sites). I have never written a review before, but I wanted to make sure that everyone is warned before they have an awful experience like I did. Also be careful with Green Line Relocation, I got quotes from both and when I tried to confirm, I learned that they are the same company. It is deplorable to charge someone over twice the estimate when nothing has changed, I feel completely taken advantage of and am still trying to recover.

But they refuse to pay it and have filed 2 requests for a new trial - both requests which were denied by 2 separate judges in Baltimore District Court. Case 0804-0010334-2016. Judgment amount: $943.05 court costs plus lien filing fee $104.00
It has been a nightmare dealing with this company from the onset. Fragile, valuable antique furniture was not properly wrapped and subsequent heavy damage resulted. I had the furniture repaired to the best of the furniture restorer's ability. One of the triple dresser's brackets were not replaced. Other furniture hardware was missing. The head mover was argumentative and his crew tracked in mud and it was hard to remove from my landlord's new carpet. They scooted heavy furniture across same carpet. I was shorted $100 in change - apparently they thought it was a "tip." My mirrors and other items were wrapped in soaking wet bubble wrap. I asked them to remove it at destination because water would cause damage. I was argued with. They absolutely refused to remove the disposable packing material and they refused to place the furniture where I wanted it. They sat it down wherever they wanted to. I scheduled them for the entire day and expected that this was there only job. It took them 3 hours to travel from Frederick, MD to Martinsburg, WV. I paid by the hour. Towards the end they told me they had a "job" at 4 p.m. and had to leave - leaving the job unfinished like refusing to place the furniture and clean the mud stained carpet.
"Crystal" the office manager called me a liar when I reported the damage and subsequently emailed her photographs of the damaged furniture items. I have moved 17 times since 1980 and this was my absolutely worst experience. I am elderly, disabled and am by myself. I filed a lien in Baltimore District Court today because this company absolutely refuses to voluntarily pay the judgment. I received anonymous threatening calls on my cell phone (the number I provided the office) after I filed a complaint with "Crystal" the office manager.
They were a "no show" in court the date of the trial and have demanded a new trial twice - which was denied them. Judgment was in my favor because I had adequate documentation and photographs.

Don't like to write a review, but this company did great job, so I just need to do it. In the beginning, it was easy to create a quote with them.Customer representative Crystal explain me everything, with all details I can imagine, when I checked other companies they didn't told me any of this fees, and when I asked them of it, they were mad on me, that I know about it. Really happy to spoke with company first and know about it. And I decided to go with them. Team come in time we were agreed, they give me window of arriving, and I was fine with that. In the time of move crew was polite and professional, it is so rare in our time. Not easy move, I have a lot of heavy furniture and 2 big sofas, I had 3 man crew, and they did it perfect. They pack all in their truck and unloaded it faster then load. By the end this were nice, and it was easiest move in my life. I will recommend this company to all, I even wrote a review, as you see, I really happy.

I was given a estimate of $568 for 5 hrs and 3 guys to move a 3 bedroom home. I was charged extra $100 for driving time. I had to give them my item list and my stuff was already packed. On arrival they had to sit 15 mins and wait for parking. They Forman than said we had to review the entire contract and sign before they start which took another 30-45 mins. I was told after signing the contract that my time started when they pulled in front of my house. They charge $90 hr. That mean before they had lift a finger I had already been charged a hr. It took them the other 4 hrs to pack the truck. By this time all my hrs were used up. Now during to the other property. I was now told that the $100 I paid for driving time only covered them come to me and back to the company. Now I had to pay $90 for that 1hr going to the new home. It took them another 4 hrs to unload and put 2 beds together. This move went from a 5hr move to a 10 hr move. What they do is train their workers to milk the clock. They will keep trying to talk to you, hang around the truck and talk to each other while the clock is ticking. They move like turtles.
