We will hire American moving experts to get us back

The girl we talked at customer service was kind, friendly, patient and extremely helpful. She even researched storage facilities for us and provided us with quotes from various places. I called her many times and was always extremely pleased with the service she provided. The move went well. The crew arrived 15 minutes early (!). They worked hard and were careful with the furniture (taking the time to wrap it and cover it properly). Overall we are pleased with how the move went. We will hire American moving experts to get us back into our house in the fall.

I used American Moving Expert for retirement about six months ago. I did an internet search for moving van companies and I found them. The coordinator was pretty thorough and the crew was great. The driver was really professional - he told me everything that he was doing, what his crew was going to be doing and asked me if I needed anything special. They were all very good. I would definitely recommend the moving company to other people. If I needed to, I would use them again as well.

Recommend them to everyone.

I was impressed at how well he handled the delivery. He had to get finished because he had to be in Lexington the next day. Something fell down on the subcontract side but we've been debriefed afterward and we wrote our experience. We're totally pleased with American Moving Expert and would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to other people.

Highly recommend!

Highly recommend! They made the moving process so simple, from start to finish. The guys were great and they were fast and the price was so much more affordable than I would have thought for full service moving! I was skeptical when they recommended a four-man team for my small apartment, however, I took their advice and I'm glad I did because it took half the time I had expected!

These guys are great! When you can make moving day less stressful, you have a gift! My daughters move from a fuss-budget HOA-clad condo to the first beautiful home for she and her husband, was awesome with the patience and professionalism of the guys of American Moving Experts. These guys worked hard

From start to finish they have great service! Setting it up and making changes before the move was easy and they were great at accommodating our change requests after the reservation. On the day of the move, the movers were great at communicating, arrived promptly, and were gentle and fast with our apartment. These guys worked hard and kept moving. Would hire again!!

Lousy. Service

Worst experience I've ever had moving. Estimate cost was changed when movers arrived. It took 7 weeks and one day to deliver my stuff from Cleveland to Flagstaff. Movers went out of business during the move and broker took no responsibility. Terrible service and costly!

First, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience that the customer may have experienced. It is never our intention for our customers to be less than satisfied with our services. We are a licensed and bonded moving broker and our duty is to facilitate your move on your behalf by taking an inventory of the items that need to be moved, provide a licensed and insured carrier, avocate on your behalf during the course of your move, and help assist you with any claims info if it’s needed.

During the course of your move the carrier was fully operational status, and did not become unauthorized till October 10, 2021. It’s not uncommon for carriers to relinquish their right to be a carrier, and your move was successfully completed and delivered. We don’t have control over them not wanting to be in business any longer, but we can demand that they deliver your belongings before they fully dissolve their company.

The estimate can only be changed if they arrive on site, perform a visual estimate of the items that need to be loaded onto the truck, and provide you with a written revised estimate of the additional cubic space needed to facilitate your move. That means if you provided an inventory to us, but the driver arrives and there are additional items, or they are larger than you stated to our representatives, the foreman will provide you with a written revised estimate. That is your worst case scenario based on the visual estimate on site. After the truck is fully loaded then they can determine the correct cubic space. That is what you are charged for, and it’s written on the Bill of Lading.

We do apologize for the experience you had and we appreciate your feedback about your experience so that we can take steps to make our service better in the future. We have also made it so this carrier can not service any of our jobs again. I hope that you guys enjoy your new destination, and if you need further assistance please let us know.

The teams were fantastic.

The teams were fantastic. The boys arrived on time (actually slightly early), super clean trucks, communicated really well, continued to ask questions about where things were going, who's room things were going into. Post the move I didn't have to shuffle boxes around into the right spaces, I just had to unpack. I've moved a lot, and this was hands down the best moving experience I've had.

I would definitely use this company again.

The team provided for this move was exceptional. They were right on time, extremely professional, proficient and efficient. The estimated time for the move was 2.5 hours, but it was accomplished in 2 hours, saving me some money. I would definitely use this company again.

By far my best moving experience to date. From the quote, transparent price structure, booking, pre move day check ins to the move itself American Moving Experts were amazing. Everyone I dealt with (especially the two guys that did the hard work on the day) we’re friendly, professional and super-efficient. No damage at all, they completed the job more quickly than anticipated and they went above and beyond with some difficult items. Would 100% recommend.

Great team of Movers.

Great team of Movers. We had a pretty big move, everything had to go up an awkwardly shaped staircase and there was not a single scratch. Simple things like putting the TV on the unit for me and making sure everything went where I wanted it to go. On time and the job was finished earlier than expect. I would highly recommend this business - professional, reliable and friendly.

The movers were excellent. They were very careful and took precautions as needed to make sure everything was safely moved without any type of damage to either our personal property or either one of the units we moved out of and in to. We would definitely use them again on our next move.

A detailed personal account

If this is your first big move or cross country move, this review is for you and a word of caution. This is my personal experience only. Your experience may be different. In short, I would not recommend them to anyone. If you’re up for a story, read on….

The initial sales pitch is really good. Communication and availability of people to talk to, ask questions and get support are all great.

I received my follow up call on a Friday for my move that was scheduled between Monday and Wednesday of the following week. AME confirmed they would be out on Monday and I would get a call on Sunday with the timing for Monday. That call did not come. I followed up with the two contacts I had, both went to an answering service and my emails were not returned. I did not hear anything until 2pm on Monday informing me that my pickup window was Wednesday instead. I was told this was my misunderstanding of the process. After reviewing the call AME stated I did hear and understand correctly and this was their mistake.

In my updated window on Wednesday between 12-4, I received a call at 2pm from AME saying that no one would be coming that day either due to weather and I was rescheduled for 12-4 on Thursday.

On Thursday morning at 9am I get a call from the driver stating they will be on site by 9:30 and I state this will not work and my window was 12-4. They asked what the big deal was and I stated that he was supposed to be on site yesterday. I called AME and asked what was happening. They stated the driver may have flipped the pickup. I stated I was not available until 12:00 as that was the agreed upon window and after waiting for two days I no longer had that flexibility. AME was polite and stated that I would be in the afternoon between 2-4. By 3 I had not heard from the driver or AME so I called in again. I was informed my delivery window updated to 3-6 and I should have been informed. I was not. At 5:30 there was still no call from the driver. I called AME again and was informed a worker was hurt and they would more than likely not be coming today. Again. AME asked to give the driver 30 minutes to call in. At 6:15 there was no call or response from AME or the driver. I called in and it went directly to their answering service. (The answering service is a relay only. They cannot help you.). At 8pm the driver arrived on location. They did not call ahead or provide any advanced notice as AME stated they would. I call AME 3 times over the next hour and a half to get someone from AME to validate the updated costs with the carrier. No one returned my calls. I canceled the pickup and sent the driver away. (AME is very specific about not accepting updated rates from the drivers. They say they can negotiate better rates and should not accept anything without looping them in.). I received a call back from AME at 10pm with no updates and I needed to inform the rep of the situation. It was late so we agreed to speak the next day.

Friday. By 10am I had not heard back from AME. At 11:30 my rep called back and asked me what I wanted to do. I thought this was an odd question as I was expecting AME to provide a solution to this since they are the broker. AME stated they were able to send a truck the next day (Saturday). I stated this was acceptable but I wanted an adjustment on my costs since I had lost an entire week. After discussing with a supervisor she was only willing to make a $100 adjustment. This was equivalent to a 2.7% deduction. I said that was not acceptable and I thought based on how poorly the week went a $400-500 deduction was more appropriate. She refused and pushed back about what had happened during the week. She stated they were brokers only and the remaining costs were to the movers. I said that was fine and it didn’t matter where the money came from but the service to date from AME was unacceptable. I asked her to review the full story and she accepted and said she would call me back in a few minutes. I waited for an hour and a half before calling her back at 5:15. Their offices close at 5 on Friday so it went back to their answering service. The old adage of fool me once seems like a fitting choice here.

At this point I was done. My call was returned at 5:39 but I missed it. They did not leave a message. I called back at 5:40 and it went back to the answering service. Again. I left another message. My call was retuned at 5:49 but I did not want to deal with them anymore.

If you’ve read all of this, you rock. Obviously this is all anecdotal and my personal experience with them. But I hope this detail gives you pause before you make a decision to hire them. With parking permits and the AME deposit I’m out around $1000. And I’m walking away. Some life lessons are expensive. Hopefully it won’t be one for you too.

They are just an amazing moving company in my opinion.

I have a very busy work schedule. So, I wasn’t looking forward to the packing part of moving. I hired American Moving Experts LLC and they were supposed to pack everything and then move each item. It really was a good decision on my part since these guys made my life so easy. I just had to agree on a price and provide a moving date. They movers did the rest. I just drove to my new place and found everything placed in the exact place they belonged to. They are just an amazing moving company in my opinion.

Best moving service ever!!!

I hired American Moving Experts LLC to move my stuffs without knowing much about them. It turned out to be a really good decision. The movers arrived right on time fully prepared to my doorsteps. They packed up everything very quickly and loaded everything onto the van. The whole process took such little time that I was just shocked. They were supposed to deliver a week later. They delivered on day 03. I am just so satisfied with their services.

Liars

This company will move your stuff but they are liars. I was told that there would put down a certain amount of boxes but if I find out I have less then I can let them know and the cost will be lower. When I told them I had less boxes I was told that that is incorrect and I should’ve changed it prior. Ok whatever. I stated to them that I needed an empty truck weight and a loaded truck weight for the military to process my move and Crystal said they can absolutely do that and it was put in my file. When I called to remind the company that I needed the weights I was told that the movers don’t do that. I am absolutely livid because I need that. And for this “reputable” company to use underhanded tactics in order to get customers is completely ridiculous. The movers were the only good thing because they were fast and thorough. And the customer service girl (I believe her name started with a M) was so rude and unprofessional

I had an excellent experience from start to finish with American Moving Experts. The staff was professional and friendly, both the office staff and the movers. They only sent two guys with the truck to unload so it took a little longer to unpack than on the pickup, but they worked hard and everything arrived in great condition.
