Long-distance move from Ballico, CA to Pine Ridge, FL

The absolute worst moving experience ever!!

First off, they took 17 hours to move from a 4 bedroom house to another 4 bedroom 1/4 mile down the road and tried to convince me this was normal. Everything was already carefully packed except for the pieces which required wrapping. Since it was taking so long, my wife and I ended up moving a lot of the stuff ourselves. We've moved before and it never took even half that long nor did we have to move our own furniture. We moved from 1500 miles away and it didn't cost a whole lot more than these guys charged either. As an added bonus they caused significant damage. At the very least I was hoping they would own up to it and try to make it right. First they tried to convince me I caused the damage! Then they finally agreed to send a wood repair guy to make his assessment and repair what he could. He did that quite nicely for all but one piece - dining room table - was scratched beyond repair. They deny responsibility and tell me that they would only compensate if it was totally destroyed! To add insult to injury, they claim they would only pay $.60/lb for damages. It was a brand new table from Haverty's. In the end, they are paying ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. While putting stuff together in our new home, we did find some other dents and scratches which were not there before. This experience has been a total rip off clearly demonstrated by the unbelievable amount of time, damage caused and an absolute lack of integrity in dealing with the aftermath. If you want real professionals, call somebody else!..also received a response apparently "from the owner" stating that they would be happy to discuss my concerns directly etc. Still trying to find out if this was a standard automatic reply to any bad reviews or if there's a real person behind it..well it's been over a week I've been trying to get in touch with "the owner" since he so kindly indicated he wanted to discuss all my issues. I've tried calling, email to customer service, texts and calls to Rodney and still nothing. I get the distinct impression they have absolutely no interest in making it right.

Movers were not professional!!

We were quoted 2700ish and the final total was over 5 grand. We did add packing which was quoted at 700 but then they added an absurd amount for small items even though we didn’t end up moving bigger items that were included in the original quote. There was also issues with what payments were accepted that no one brought up. Cash or money order only upon delivery? That should be stated and transparent upfront.

Stolen property and lying to police.

Opening lawsuit. American Home Relocation stole all of my property from my home without my consent. I called the police, they stopped the truck an ordered them to return to my home. The manager spoke to police, cussed them out and cussed me out. Drivers complained they couldn't unload because they already worked 8 hours that day and needed to get home. They said they would return in the morning. They never returned. despite police orders. Lawsuit is for roughly $30,000 of stolen goods.

American Home Relocation.

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! My things were lost, broken, a motorcycle had over $500 worth of repairs that had to be done on it. An antique corner shelf was broken. These things I had paid extra to have them take special care of. All of my boxes and totes were broken. They moved my things from one trailer to another one and they were all mixed in with other peoples things. Had to pick mine out from a pile! A bicycle was messed up so bad it's just a total loss. This was a nightmare and continues to be as I discover things that I never received. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! On top of tall of this their insurance company is awful and their customer service is worse. When you are inquiring about your move they are all wonderful, but after they screw everything up you can't talk to anyone!!

Very Good Company.

Based on recommendations, we agreed to employ these Movers. My friends always told me how nice this company is, because my friends had relocated before. This time, I have a taste of it. The movers, which kept their schedules, were just as effective. Their speed ensured that my bill remained low. Both our goods are wrapped, packed and shipped carefully without problems. I'm so thankful to this moving company and will surely help all of them.

DO NOT, make the same mistake I made!

American Home Relocation showed up to pack my furniture. They were very efficient and then left. I realized later my items went to a storage facility. It took 16 days for my goods to arrive. After delivery, a sofa was missing. The driver verified the mistake. The sofa was located at the storage facility. I was notified two weeks ago the sofa had been picked up. No one has called since to notify me of the status of my sofa. It has now been almost six weeks since American Home Relocation picked up my furniture and the saga continues. Who knows if I'll ever see my $3,000 sofa again. I contacted the customer service at American Home Relocation to find out what they would do about getting my missing sofa delivered. Apparently, the contracted carrier will not make a special trip to deliver my sofa. It will sit in storage until they have another full load to deliver somewhere near my area. After more than two months from the time American Home Relocation arranged the pickup of my household goods, I got four urgent calls while I was sitting in a restaurant with some friends. I was told I needed to call the movers immediately or they would leave my sofa outside on my doorstep. Thank you very much for the advance notice. After hearing nothing for two months, I have a ten minute window to respond or have my sofa dumped on my doorstep.

Stay Away From This Company!!

I wish I could give zero stars to this company! This is the 3rd time I have done a long distance move for my job, and by far the worst experience! They started by mis-quoting my move, not only cost but delivery. The movers that came to my home were incredibly rude , destroyed property and several of my belongings. They left trash everywhere both loading and unloading. The movers would ask for cigarettes and drinks and were just unprofessional. When I finally did get my belongings both mu washer and dryer were broken. It took weeks to get all the paperwork filed for the claim. Now over 3 months later and I still have not had any response or resolution regarding my claim.

STAY away form this company!

I used this company last year and they lost and damaged multiple items. The pick up was fine, but after that it was a nightmare. They will unload everything in a warehouse and they get things mixed up with other peoples items. They have no regard for your belongings.

When they delivered (with no warning) my load had things that belonged to someone else and we had a ton of things missing and damaged.

And forget about filling a claim, it will be denied.

Scammers -unethical behavior.

I was quoted $1,650 by A-plus Moving and Storage,A-Plus

I paid the down payment of $580, I paid a Cashiers check of $550 to American Home Relocations upon arrival of the movers on 9/13. They immediately said I was way over and had to "pay them under the table" I was forced to write another $400 check. I have the mover on recording saying he was lying to the company about goods loaded. I was not provided a true inventory. No one can tell me where my belongings are or if and when they will be delivered.

I sent the voice recording to A-plus moving.

I still DO NOT know where my belongings are or when they will arrive. No one gave me an inventory of my belongings when loaded. The mover bragged about "saving" customers money by getting paid under the table and lying to the company.

Overall rating is an F

Long-distance move from Columbus, IN to Philadelphia, PA

Thieves and liars.

I did not choose this company, I originally contracted IMRG (Interstate Moving & Relocation Group), a broker who hired American Home Relocation. on July 24th Pick up went smoothly, we finished packing the fragile and expensive items as the movers were packing the furniture and taking down the boxes to the truck. Then things start to get ugly. Only a month after pick up I am finally able to get a clear delivery date to the new address. On August 18th the movers show up, destroying a car's front bumper with their truck and ignoring it. moments later the police show up as some people did see it happen and reported the truck. After paying in cash the balance due they start to unload the truck to realize none of the items are mine. My shipment's current location is unknown and even after contact both IMRG and American Home Relocation no one knows where it is.. finally on August 21rst I get a call from "American Home Relocation's manager in Chicago" telling apologizing and telling me my shipment is fully loaded and will arrive the next day by noon. August 22nd, 12pm, IMRG calls me to inform me my shipment is being located and delivery will happen within next week. I answer this is wrong as the moving company contacted me as they found it, upon asking for explanations the operators tells me "i have work to do I need to go" and just hangs up. 3 calls on which she kept hanging up on me I can finally talk to a manager who just refuses to answer me or confirm my items will really be delivered. The movers call me at 1pm telling they will arrive at 2:30pm. 5pm, no news, no one is here, I call them, no answer. the movers finally show up at 9pm, no apology, no excuse, they want to get the money and "start right now to not spend the whole night doing this **". unfortunately, my bike is broken, some furniture got banged up. After 2hours, midway, my elevator broke down (i live on the 2nd floor, right next to the elevator. After being INSULTED and literally threatened to them leaving everything as it is (50% of my items in the lobby and the rest in the truck) they get ready to leave unless I give them each 200$. it is 10pm, their manager doesn't answer the phone, neither IMRG. I had no choice but to agree, especially as one was extremely aggressive verbally and physically. when their job is done htey take a few pictures of the boxes, do NOT give me a bill of landing or any document and leave. so not only both I and my wife had to take TWO days off EACH for nothing but they forced us to pay more money and on top of that gave us no possibility to check the number of items delivered. turns out, the small box containing a PS4, 3 controller, an XBOX one, 1 controller, my wife's jewelry box and 300$ worth of gift cards was missing !! American Home Relocation never answer my calls for a claim and IMRG guided me towards movingclaims.net. I am filing a pollice report but according to IMRG, I will never see my items again neither be reimbursed. In total these people cost me stress, more than a 1500$ in time, stolen items and "extra undocumented fees".

Scam company.

Was supposed to move on september 26,2020 they promised between 12-2 never showed up couldn't get in contact with anyone at the office or dispatch finally got a hold of the driver who said he was in a major accident the day before. then when the driver finally showed a day and a half later he demanded 3 times the cost we were quoted. the company calls us a week later also demanding the same 3 times cost my sister was told when picking up her stuff. fine we paid just to get her stuff out of their warehouse more than 3 weeks after the move. during this time I am calling them almost daily because they had half the money for over a week and no delivery date yet. they get up to where we live finally the inside the truck looked like a hurricane had just blown thru stuff was thrown everywhere. we get her 55" tv off which I told her to go immediately and plug in and test it which was all broke to hell, along with several of the totes she packed her stuff into. and they actually left with an exercise bike still on the truck I had to call them back to have them turn around. bottom line this company is a scam company DO NOT USE THEM!!

Lost boxes and items

This company gave us a contract with wrong carrier name, and we could not locate our things. They doubled the cost-that was quoted and demanded additional money before they would deliver. They then had another carrier deliver. They Lost several boxes, broke 2 lamps and desk. One of the boxes is family pictures. They claim they can’t find. I told them I do not want money. We want our memories. Never return calls. Horrible-Stressful experience. They could care less about people personal things. Also no masks or identification. Showed up in Ryder truck. Stay away if you like having money and your stuff

First the company raised the price $2,000 2 days before move and then showed up and scratched hardwood floors everywhere and put holes in walls. Also damaged all our stuff, wouldn’t wear a mask, and they were extremely rude and cussing at us, and then didn’t load all our stuff and when they “finished” loading told us that we have to pay another $2105 on top of the rest that we paid. Told them that we were paying extra and it was already on the truck and said we don’t have a choice or they’d keep our stuff. Still waiting on delivery from the company, won’t respond or talk to us on the phone, their contracts specially states that if we don’t go over the original inventory they won’t charge extra, which we didn’t. The 2nd contract they gave us raising it another $2105 after it was already on the truck specifically states that it has to be done before loading anything and it wasn’t. They didn’t give us a choice on paying extra and damaged tons of items. The biggest scam I have ever seen and once they have your stuff there’s nothing you can do. They told us they will be keeping our stuff if we don’t pay the revised price. I don’t see how a company can load all your stuff and then just be like, “by the way your paying more whether you like it or not.”. The ended up taking 27 days to deliver and were supposed to give a 48 hour notice but called an hour before on a Sunday night at 6, and then came around 7:15ish Sunday night. Then wouldn’t accept our Wells Fargo money, only a postal money order. Obviously the post office isn’t open so they made us pay a $500 redelivery fee to come back the next money. Every piece of furniture is damaged, every tv is broken and one tv didn’t even show up. There were countless items destroyed and the guy dropping off said not one thing was wrapped. He showed up in the same size truck and our load didn’t even take up half of the truck. He had 2 other loads with it were as the pickup guys could barely close the door. We talked to him and he said he knows the guys who loaded and said they don’t know what their doing. He said we never should’ve been charged extra on pickup as it was their own incompetence that caused the overage. We have both pickup and drop off all on video and the drop off is all audio recorded by our security cameras. We never should’ve had to pay that extra $2,311 per their own driver. I feel we got completely screwed and I will not stop until I receive that money back that was stolen from us. I’ve filed complaints all over to give them ample time to do the right thing and next my attorney will be filing paperwork.

Still waiting for our delivery, 2 months. Ft Laud to Salt Lake Cit

Absolutely horrified. We had our boxes picked up Nov 8th, our understanding being that delivery date - i.e. date our goods would arrive would be November 17th. Received a call week of Nov 9th for ETA, gave them 11/17. . Find out ETA is when goods leave storage so 14-21 days for delivery. Who cares when their stuff leaves the warehouse? People want to know when it's going to arrive. Here we are January 19th and not only has there been no delivery, worst of all it has not even left storage IN FLORIDA!!!. Several calls to both Amer Home and Leadway with promises but nothing has been done. These people are dishonest and have zero concept of customer service. They have our money and our goods and seem to have little intention of fulfilling their contract with us. I guess our next and possibly only option is to report them for theft of our property.

My daughter has now been living in an empty apt for 2 months, no bed, no clothes no dishes, thanks entirely to the dishonesty of these two companies. They tell us that we were given "a discount" - frankly, it's not a discount if they don't do the job they have been paid for. Do not use these people, they will lie and take your money. Watch this space as we escalate this.

Missing stuff. Rude & unprofessional movers. Police had to be called..

I would give negative stars to company if there was such option. Stay away from them if you need your stuff.

Missing things and Police had to be called

We continue to be amazed and surprised by the level of unprofessionalism your drivers had.

Lot of our stuff is in damaged condition.

They never assembled any of furniture and did not take majority of them upstairs. They charged extra for going upstairs, which we already told you that apartment was on the 1st floor.

We have taken videos of their behaviors, and kept my text message conversations of Eli. Eli was extremely rude.

" Missing 2 large bags & dining table worth 2000$. Drivers came on 22nd to pick up the stuff instead of 19th initially promised , they stayed till 217am and kept us up . They dropped off our stuff around 10pm on 24th . They refused to assemble the majority of things as promised and also refused to move half of our stuff upstairs. Eli , manager of company demanded that we pay the entire amount we agreed upon before they even start moving box . I told them I would be happy to pay him half first(since they did take money on pick up and did not send me invoice as they promised) and then the other half later on once boxes are delivered and furniture is assembled. But Eli refused to allow the drivers to move any boxes and started yelling and cursing. We gave into his demand on driver's request, and we sent $1072 on zelle. Then

He demanded an additional 75 as it was upstairs, which again we told you and have in contract that it will be on the first floor. Drivers then wanted tips or they refused to bring half of the furniture upstairs and assemble it. Eli accused me that they are afraid they will not get the tip after they finish the work, so I agreed to give them a tip. The moment the tip was given, driver Joshua became racially abusive from kind, and claimed that he had a gun and wanted to leave. We have videos of these conversations. Police had to be called due to security reasons as Joshua claimed to have a gun and claimed that he will leave with our stuff."

We will not allow this kind abuse and violation of contract, and I feel that the moving industry gets by these behaviors and tactics, so please reply to me and provide me in a timely manner either reimbursement for my tables, boxes and bags, or provide my missing things. Also, take mattress boxes, and 2 chairs.

If we do not hear from your company in writing, (we refused to communicate via phone), We will take our next legal actions.

They did not care to take our signature on receipt that most moving company requires upon completion of move. I have digital copy and as well carbon copy of the receipt when Joshua picked up his stuff.

Liars, thiefs, rude, false info

Quick to take money and be nice, no communication they will not verify any information once they have your entire lifes belongings, memories etc. Given false contact information, will not tell me where my belongings are, now currently 16 days past delivery date and still no contact. Have been hung up on more times than I can count, been told to not call back, been told to quit being ridiculous. I paid over 1 month before I needed the items delivered and had it way planned and still no stuff or any idea where it is or when or if I will see it. Had 2 addresses they were to pick up from and they sent 2 different trucks at same time and I wasn't even home at the one location and they took everything even items specifically marked not to take. Came home to cleaned out place and neighbors said my stuff will most likely be destroyed because of how it was carelessly handled. I can't get any answers and keep getting hung up on or ignored. At this point told it is in a warehouse and will not tell me where. Got multiple invoices with no company logo or anything just says customer care. Have emailed it back and absolutely no replys. Have reported to law enforcement, BBB, attorney general, federal carrier administration and obtaining an attorney. If you value your belongings do not use Mega Van lines as a broker or American relocation services. They even falsified their location was told in California and BBB says possibly Illinois!

These people do not deserve to serve customers

These people ended up as my movers via some scammers called "Handle With Care" who claimed to be the actual movers. I was not made aware that American Home Relocation would be my movers. Anyhow, they contacted me via phone about payment and delivery of my stuff. The price was nearly double what was quoted by Handle with care. The customer service is terrible! Whenever I would call the number they provided, it was rarely ever picked up. I eventually got a hold of Lorraine C, the customer service manager, who is very rude. She hang upon me before I even said a word, and yet when I called her yesterday, she told me to call her today because it was "after hours". I called again today and she hung up on me. Assuming it was accidental, I called again and she quickly put me on hold. Eventually when I finally got a hold of her, she lectured me about my calling and she hung up. She was so moody. Every time Lorraine picks up the phone. I get put on hold. I think this is her polite way of hanging up. My stuff is due for delivery tomorrow and she literally did not talk to me at all and my questions remain unanswered. I emailed her and she said that she had other customers and would call me in a few minutes. I'm still waiting. They act like they're doing you a favor, and yet they're billing me $3,592. for a one bedroom move! I didn't even ask to do business with these people. You would think some decent customer service would be included in that price!
