Long-distance move from Tacoma, WA to Niceville, FL

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY

This Company should be put out of business. As of 2 month ago the Attorney General's office in FL had 114 complaints in the last year about them. I paid $5000 deposit and they never showed up, never called and I cannot reach anyone to provide me a refund. I had to hire other movers to come as I had to be out of my home. They are scammers. If they do not provide me with a refund for non-service I will find every person they have stolen from and file a class action law suit against them. There is no Manger at this company that will do anything for you. They transfer you and keep you on hold and NEVER assist you in any way. So sad that they treat people this way at such a stressful time. I give them a negative score, but this site makes you click at least one star to move forward. They are a negative 100 stars in my book.

Long-distance move from Vienna, VA to Saint Petersburg, FL

5-star reviews are FAKE

There are three things that any prospective customers should consider before hiring Alliance Moving and Storage:

1) The large number of 1-star reviews should help anyone looking into this company realize that the 5-star reviews are actually all FAKE. Every single 1-star review has had the same experience as me. Problems and stress every. single. step. of the move. Quotes/estimates that don't represent the full price. Movers who don't take everything they were supposed to. One-month wait times for delivery. No one to contact (in spite of their claim of 24-hour service, there is no one who can do anything on the other end) And somehow every 5-star review reports and easy and stress-free move? C'mon.

2) In the contract there is a clause that says no bad-talking Alliance Moving and Storage online if you're in the middle of a claim. If you say anything negative then your claim will be dismissed. You have to give them "reasonable time" to address your concerns. I made a complaint almost 3 months ago and have heard absolutely nothing. I have spent thousands of dollars already... but I literally don't know where my stuff is. I have called, emailed, and received no information. Needless to say, not every moving company needs to have a clause like this.

3) In the contract, the fine print that NO ONE EXPLAINS, it says they can take up to 30 BUSINESS DAYS (6 weeks!) to deliver your stuff after the "first possible move-in day." This is absurd. How can someone expect to live in a house with nothing for 6 weeks? You may as well live out of your car.

I have had to pay to replace my furniture, clothes, and kids toys now because I've been in my house for weeks. I am 40 weeks pregnant and thought hiring movers would be a smart move. WOW -- was I wrong!

Nightmare move

I can't imagine a worse moving experience. Alliance contracts out to another moving company, so I imagine there can be a variety of experiences. I got an hour notice prior to the movers coming, who showed up in a rental truck. I was asked for multiple other fees that were not in my original agreement (ie $75 'elevator fee' per mover). I then heard nothing for weeks about when my stuff would be delivered. I made multiple calls to customer service and was hung up on multiple times. I finally was able to get the contact number for the actual moving company, who told me that my delivery date was going to be in 5 weeks (despite the 3-7 days after pickup I was quoted by Alliance based on the distance of my move). I was told that the month was input wrong and that it was an "honest mistake". I did not have anything I owned for several weeks and finally had my delivery about 4 weeks later. Multiple items were broken and damaged, particularly furniture. I paid >$3600 for a one bedroom apartment, so the only redeeming factor was that they charged less than other companies despite the extra fees. The experience made an already difficult move and starting a new job extremely stressful.

SCAM SCAM SCAM

Spoke to a Johnathan Steel ( who advised me he was one of their most experienced estimators at ALLIANCE and had been doing this for more than 10 years). Because of the coronavirus wave, the company gave moving estimates by virtual tour. I arranged this for March 9, 2021 and it took approx one hour. Each room was carefully viewed, each item of furniture and contents of every cupboard / closet were listed. He advised that he allowed an extra 10% over and above what he saw and on the day if there were more pieces I had an allowance of a further 7% on the total estimated cube.

Subsequently I received a Binding Moving Estimate of $16,500.00 for an estimated volume of 2329cu.ft. .

I tweaked the list of articles a couple of times with Johnathon ( as I didn't want any surprises) and wanted everything to be on the list of contents . I received an updated estimate including these items on 4/7/21.

On April 9 I booked my move to be May 13 and paid an initial deposit of $1050 to secure the price and moving date .

On April 20 I paid a further $5000

On May 11, I received a call from Conor in Alliance dispatch. He advised that he had reviewed my details and that in his opinion not enough boxes or packing material had been ordered and that although my list of contents had not changed he suggested the need to increase the volume to 3229cuft. - A 39% INCREASE - of course the price would change and would now be $23,720.93 - 45% more than originally quoted !

I asked how could their experienced estimator have been so wrong but as I was 48 hours away from closing escrow and HAD to move from my home I had no option but to accept the new price and agree.

I spoke with ALLIANCE's GM, Mr. Richard Anderson FALCONE and agreed to pay an additional further deposit of $3,220.95 leaving an even balance of $14,500. Half of this ($7250) to be paid on collection in two days time and the balance on final delivery in Florida.

May 13, ALL TIME MOVING** of Daytona Beach FL (on behalf of ALLIANCE) arrived and requested immediate payment of $10,150.00 to start . I told the foreman that I had agreed it would be $7250. I refused to pay more . In a subsequent conversation withFALCONE he said ' he made a mistake'.

ALL TIME MOVING completed the packing the following day (May 14) but it was not until one week later on May 20 that after asking, I received a Bill of Lading for a balance of $11,450.00 due on delivery ! This new number was because I was told there was an increase in the cube ( now 3790 ), plus there were a host of other extra charges that were never mentioned AND added AFTER I had signed the BOL.

I have tried numerous times calling ALLIANCE. They either leave you on hold, do not answer or promise to call back but never do. I wanted to get some explanation as to how their experienced estimator could be so wrong and how the price could go from $16,500 to $27,920.- 70% MORE than what I was expecting.

On Monday, June 7, I spoke with FRANK in the ALLIANCE Sales Dept. and for the umpteenth time told my story and that I just wanted to speak with someone who could help. He offered to put me through to Customer Service ( they never answered) however his parting words sums up this miserable experience with an industry that has a reputation for conning the public. He said " ...you realize your original quote was ONLY an estimate - after all if we told you your move was going to cost nearly thirty thousand dollars you would have looked for someone else to do the job..." THE CLASSIC BAIT and SWITCH !!!

Interstate move

Absolute nightmare. Company provides a fraudulent front, then will outsource your move to a third party. The third party arrived at my residence on June 2nd. They took all my possessions and I haven’t heard from them since. All efforts to retrieve my possessions have been unsuccessful. Tracking them down has been incredibly stressful and I am out $1,400 plus all my possessions. Run from this company.

Delivery

Do not use this broker! The worst, kept lying to me for better than two months about when my move would be delivered. I finally had to get a lawyer. When my things did finally arrived, it was damaged badly and several item were missing (our Christmas ornaments and shark vacuum to name a few) they are rude and untrustworthy. When I told them I had a lawyer, they laughed at me. Now we are sueing them. Who laughing now.

Long-distance move from Chicago, IL to Houston, TX

Broker, not moving company, BIG SCAM!!!

These SLIME BAGS use the same name as a reputable moving company out of Chicago, but are actually a broker out of Florida. THEY WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for the GARBAGE COMPANY they hire, like Moving Depot, to lose your possessions or swindle you out of more money when they show up at your door.

I paid thousands for the move, then the GARBAGE COMPANY (MOVING DEPOT), tried to swindle another grand out of me. I told them to take their crap and leave then and demanded a refund. I called Alliance (Mark Williams), who seemed befuddled, then claimed to be helpless. Spineless is more like it. The movers gave up, after I started raising hell and told them get off my lawn, and said they'd write it off, then carried on with the move.

Now, after this, SLIME BAG COMPANY ALLIANCE MOVING AND STORAGE would not accept any responsibility for the move, which Moving Depot continued to butcher, LOSING INVALUABLE / IRREPLACEABLE ITEMS in my review about them below:

Absolute garbage company. Complete scam. Got duped by another scam company, ALLIANCE MOVING AND STORAGE (yelp.com/biz/alliance-mo…), who use the same name as a reputable moving company out of Chicago, but is actually out of Florida, who brokered Moving Depot to move our stuff from Chicago to Houston, then lost several boxes along the way, which included items that ARE NOT REPLACEABLE, NOR ARE THEY SOMETHING THAT MONEY CAN FIX.

We also received boxes that are not ours, including a huge box full of some poor kid's toys, which have still not been picked back up since we reported it to them back in May. They couldn't be bothered to check when we first told them some items were missing and gave them photos and missing tag numbers with descriptions of the items and containers. THEY COULDN'T CARE LESS!!!

Got hung up on today because I called just before their closing time on the east coast (I'm central time and didn't know this, thinking they were out of Chicago). I was told by the woman that she didn't have time for me to reprimand her about a move that was back in April (this is written on 9/24) on a Friday afternoon....BECAUSE THEY DON'T CARE!

DO NOT GIVE THESE SCUMBAGS YOUR MONEY OR POSSESSIONS! DO NOT LET A SLIMY MOVING BROKER CON YOU INTO THINKING THEY ARE A REPUTABLE COMPANY, WHO WILL THEN HAVE MOVING DEPOT SCREW IT ALL UP AND LOSE ITEMS YOU WILL NEVER GET BACK, ONLY TO HIDE BEHIND "CLAIMS".

They won't give your possessions a second thought, because they don't have to! They will repeat "claims" until you take a payout or give up.

Alliance Moving & Storage

Based upon the condition of our furniture when it arrived at our new residence, I guessed the moving truck had been in a wreck. In addition to lost and damaged goods, the company failed to provide the services they promised such as Professional door-to-door service, expert advise, reassembly of all items disassembled by moving packers and a legible itemized inventory. The attitude of Alliance Moving when asked about the damage and missing items was: “That’s not our problem you’ll have to contact the trucking company." The trucking company, USA Logistics, over charged for the load by approximately $16,000 until I stopped payment on their check and told them I had filed a complaint with DOT. Then they quickly backed down and reduced the charge by $14,000. A total of 31 items were either damaged, missing or not ours. Some of the damage required enough force to bend heavy steel and knock short legs off chairs and dressers.

SOOOOO BAD! Damaged over $1,500 of my stuff and over changed me

NEVER EVER use this company for moving I would give no stars if possible. With the cost and how much of my stuff was damaged I would have been better off selling it all and rebuying everything after I moved. Plus you cannot get in touch with the claims department expect to be sent a general reply. Then after the 120 time period it takes to process the claims I was told that my claim was incomplete and they were not able to process it.

I moved from Maryland to Florida and the cost to move not very much stuff was very high. I was way under quoted and my total cost we 3x times higher than I was told. Additionally, a lot of my stuff was broken or damaged including an expensive TV, treadmill, side tables (crushed), chair (nice fancy one), and so much more.

DO NOT USE THEM. No one will help you with the claims process, they just try to ignore you. You will not get anything back from them. Trouble business.

Long-distance move from Rockville, MD to Miami, FL

Horrible Experience

They sold me on the fact that they can deliver my furniture in a 2 day window. I gave them 3 months heads up. Now they are saying they are just brokers and they have no leverage on the delivery subcontractors. The subcontractors are saying they have 2-30 business day window to deliver, meaning Alliance is lying when they promise delivery. Absolute scam, just take their fee and leave everything else to rest of us to figure out.
