CONSUMER BEWARE!! WARNING! WARNING! STAY AWAY!

Using Agility Van Lines was a horrible mess. Shane Young is a bully and a liar; he's demeaning and rude to his own employees and customers.

LIE #1 - John incorrectly assessed our items
RESULT - Truck was too small.
I was on my own to have storage unit shipped to new location. Not an easy task when we're moving 700 miles away. This cost me an additional $2000.

LIE #2 - Items will arrive over a 5 day delivery spread
RESULT - We waited over THIRTY days to receive our belongings

"It will be there next week."
"Driver is in NC, but on his way."
"Your belongings are in transit."
"I promise it will be there Friday."
"Your items are in storage in CT."
"It will arrive early next week."

LIE #3 - We will professionally pack your items
RESULT - Many items were not even packed, just thrown into the truck.
RESULT - Many items arrived broken; some went into the trash and will be completely replaced; others will need repairs.

LIE #4 - We are professionals.
RESULT - Office staff gave me the run around. I was the one initiating most of the calls.
"Uh..I don't have the paperwork in front of me."
"We'll call you by 5:00 to give you an update."
"Still no word, I don't have the paperwork."

LIE #5 - Packing materials charges
RESULT - I was charged $215.00 for boxes: wardrobe box, picture box, mirror box, small crate, medium crate, large crate, dish box, commercial bin box, TV box, mattress covers, etc.
The items requiring boxes never made it to boxes! Many items were thrown in the truck at the end. No boxes. Not wrapped, hence the broken items upon arrival. Not one box was provided.

This has been a NIGHTMARE!

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $6600

From the moment that I spoke with the staff at Agility Van Lines I knew that I was going to be a part of their family operated company. They made me feel as if I mattered and my opinion counted. Everything was explained to me and I knew just what to expect come move day. The pickup was very quick and everything was handled with care. The delivery was 2 Days Later. When everything was unwrapped and unpacked there was no damage and nothing was missing. In my history of moving and being in the military that has never happened to me. I want to thank Angelo and the entire staff at Agility Van Lines for making my move go so smooth. The crew Victor, Carl and Damion were so polite and so kind. I will call you all again in the future.

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $8424

I hired Agility Van Lines to help me move from Delaware to Ohio. I was supposed to have my things picked up either Friday or Saturday, so I would be able to meet the truck in Ohio a day or two later, and start work on Monday.

Shane (the owner) kept putting off telling me exactly when my pick up would be. Thursday at 6:30pm I got a call telling me they wouldn't be able to pick up my stuff until Monday or Tuesday. I said this wouldn't work because I had a job to start. Cindy, from customer service told me she would call Shane and get back to me.

At 10:45pm Shane finally called me at told me they wouldn't be able to do my move on the weekend arranged, leaving me without movers late the night before my scheduled move.

I ended up hiring a U-Haul with an auto trailer, and doing a 10 hour drive through the mountains myself. The price was a little lower than other companies quoted me, but in the end the company was unreliable and unapologetic.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2743

It has taken me 6 weeks to finally recover from the traumatic and distressing move that I did with Agility from MA to Florida.  I am writing this because as a single woman I want to ensure no one, especially another woman, is taken advantage of by the conniving and quite frankly illegal business practices of Agility.

My deception began when I found Agility off the very reputable Angie's Listings. Unfortunately my initial local moving company contracted COVID-19 2 weeks prior to my move so I was in need of a replacement. I spoke with John countless times, sent him the MLS listing of my house, including the square footage ( 2219 sq ft 4 bedrooms 3.5 baths) as well as over 26 photos showing all contents of every room in my home.  After multiple exchanges on 4/17 John quoted my move at $5,313.13  based off of the1052 Cubic Feet I would need in the truck.

The move was promised giving a two day arrival window. With only 24 hours notice I received confirmation the truck would arrive the second day but it didn't! I called repeatedly to confirm my moving date as I was on a tight schedule. I finally heard back at 9PM the night before my scheduled moving date - in which I was informed they would be arriving a day later than scheduled.

Upon arrival on 4/23 my movers said there was absolutely no way that the contents of my home would fit in the cubic footage I had reserved.  They told me I would need over 1,768 cubic footage of the truck which would increase the price of my move by $3,500 making the total $8,341.57. Additionally the owner of the company Shane insisted that the new total needed to be paid in full upon delivery.

These were absolutely not the terms and conditions I had contractually agreed upon. It was the height of the pandemic, not to mention I am a single woman and was packing and moving my entire life completely alone due to required isolation.

The law states that the most a moving company can charge is 110% of the increased total at delivery, they did not abide by that.  I will be filing a deceptive business practice complaint with the Department of Transportation, Better Business Bureau, and the Attorney General as this company is extremely corrupt and I do not want this to happen to anyone else.

I will mention that the three movers were very friendly, professional, and transparent. Clearly this is a top down issue in which management forces poor and immoral business practices on their employees.

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $8341

Embarrassingly bad service. The salesperson outright lied to us about what was included in the service. "Full pack and unpack" does not mean unpack at all, just unload the van. "Professional packers" managed to destroy paintings, lamps, dishes, artwork, clothes. Mostly because they literally just dumped our belongings into the largest boxes they were able to buy at Home Depot the night before. We were told the movers were coming on Wednesday, then they didn't show up until Thursday. Then when we called the office to ask about the discrepancy, we were told it was our fault. It was our fault for not estimating how big of a truck they should send. It was our fault for not understanding that "full pack and unpack" meant unload, but not unpack. It was our fault for assuming that "professionals" meant "stoned the entire time they worked." Our quote jumped from $7,000 to $9,400. I'm embarrassed to have given them my money. Stay away from this company! They are shady, and unprofessional. Shame on them.

As far as my experience with Agility, stay clear and far away from this moving company, ESPECIALLY if you are moving across state lines. I utilized them in Dec 2018 from CT to Miami. Understand, I know they cannot be exact in terms of deliverable date due to the distance and working with other customer loads, but at the same time, they lied and said my belongings were in route when in actuality they sat in NJ for a week! They unloaded my belongings in a storage unit and picked up another load for the money! How do I know this? Because at least their delivery drivers were up front and honest with me. To add to the disaster, they damaged my mattress as a result of the offload; saturated with dirty water! And, upon dropping off another customers furniture, my daughters expensive mountain bike was given to the wrong household, who in turn decided to keep it! I got practically nothing for my major delay (2 weeks from what they stated), lies and deceit and damage. All of this I have documented. Do yourself a favor, stay clear away from Shane Young and company,.

Excellent customer service, communication, professionalism and respect. I was happy using a family owned business and my crew was the same to pack/load and unload as promised. John was excellent in providing the quote and knowledgeable. The price was reasonable compared to others. The crew led by Alfred was careful and attentive and very polite. They worked hard. The only reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is because the packing and loading the truck took twice as long as anticipated - 16 hours for a 2 bedroom condo. This added stress as the day turned to night since they have to be supervised as your items are staged in the street.

This review is for an interstate move, Sept-Oct 2020. I contacted Agility Van Lines based on favorable online reviews. I contacted other movers as well. Agility responded with genuine interest, personable professionalism, and very reasonable rates. They took time to explain the process to me and insure I understood what would happen. They were so supportive, and always reliable throughout the entire process. I recommend them to you MOST highly. Excellent company, great people, way-above-average service.

This was the first time I’ve ever used a moving company so I was really concerned about how this would turn out. We needed to move my mom from Phila. To Georgia in the summer of 2019, and then a year later, move her back to Philly. I needed this move to go smoothly because I’m in Texas and unable to be there to help my mom.

Everyone I worked with at Agility Van Lines was great. Angelo and Denise were friendly, helpful and professional. They walked me thru the process, answered my questions, (and I had a lot of them!), and addressed all my concerns. I had a clear picture of what to expect before I signed the contract.

During the move from Phila. To Georgia, Agility patiently worked with my mom when her move schedule slipped, when she wasn’t ready when they showed up, and came back when she was ready. Given her late circumstances, she needed to put her stuff in storage for 2 months until her new home was ready. Agility did that without hiccup at a reasonable price until it was time for delivery. And delivery was done right on time.

I had no doubt who to call when mom needed to move back to Phila. During that move, the experience was the same. John and Denise were again friendly, helpful and professional. Agility’s workers showed up right at the time they said they would, packed up her stuff professionally, including her prized 55” TV, and had her stuff on the truck ready to go within hours.

I’m very happy with the service Agility provided my mom and highly recommend them to anyone.

John, moving consultant, was helpful and knowledgeable. The moving crew, lead by Paul, were professional, courteous and helpful. While the moving crew showed up later at night (6:00pm), they jumped right on the job and were done by 7:30pm. Likewise, on the delivery end. Crew leadership was noticeable and the three man crew worked in unison. We were very pleased with the experience and do not hesitate in recommending Agility Van Lines for those smaller moves that the "big guys" just don't want to mess with. Agility showed that they can handle the job.

Moving can be a stressful endeavor, but I have to say that working with the folks at Agility has been great. From John who set the move up, to Denise who coordinated it to Ontario and Paul who delivered our stuff from storage, they've all had positive attitudes, genuine concern and excellent follow-through. There were few problems, but when minor glitches came up they worked with us to find solutions. When it comes to moving, the guys on the truck are at the "tip of the spear." They are the ones who are face to face with the customer and they can make or break the move. Ontario and Paul were a cohesive team. They were careful, courteous and conscientious. They made what could have been a very long and tedious day into an enjoyable experience. I was skeptical that two guys could unload that truck in one day, but they did it with no incidents and were on the road by 4 p.m. Nicely done! I'd certainly hire Agility Van Lines again.

Once again Agility Van Lines, Inc provided to us an outstanding move from South Carolina to Connecticut. The team of men, Ontario, Isaiah, and Paul carefully and efficiently packed our belongings and transported them from the south to the north! What an incredible crew of men. But to add to that everyone at Agility is so helpful and informative. Denise helped us so much and always with a pleasant and kind attitude. She was a pleasure to work with as was John. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the contents proved to be more than expected, but fortunately the men could handle this concern. I cannot say enough positive and encouraging words about Agility. Thanks to all and three cheers to Ontario, Isaiah and Paul ... we are so grateful.

Moving is a very stressful experience, Agility Van lines removed much of that stress by their outstanding performance. The trucks arrived as scheduled, the crew worked very hard in loading our belongings. They were professional from start to the end. It was a pleasure working with everyone at Agility. A special thanks to Shane & John for overseeing the move. Shane is the owner of the company and is very proactive before and after the move.

The first company I was supposed to move with ended up having horrible reviews, thank goodness I found Agility Van Lines. Agility Van Lines saved us! Shane (owner) personally called to book a move with me, that really meant a lot. Our move was from IL to MD and on pickup and arrival the driver, Steven, and his team called ahead of time, loaded and unloaded the truck quickly and efficiently, and was very nice and accommodating. They took great care of all of our belongings and wrapped everything with care. Would definitely use and recommend Agility Van Lines again and again!

This company was great from start to finish! John helped review my inventory, discussed options, and was willing to negotiate around final bid and offer. Daniel and his moving team notified me half an hour before they arrived to pick up my household full of "stuff" and arrived as predicted. They worked non-stop for five hours loading my belongings onto the truck then drove to my new home (1.5 hrs away) and unloaded for another 4 hours. Every item of furniture was wrapped and carefully moved. Daniel's team remained in good spirits throughout the move, were very courteous, and placed furniture and boxes where I specified. I cannot give them higher reviews. Would definitely hire this company again, especially if I knew I'd get Daniel and his team!

Although my plans to move changed and I had to cancel my reservation with Agility, I want to say how helpful John was in helping making arrangements for me. I found John to be very professional and courteous as I explained all that I needed; large pickup, storage of some of load, local drop of remainder of load, later travel to CT for drop off of storage. Even I found this confusing! John presented me with a clear, detailed plan of how this would be accomplished with care. I was impressed with his offer of Agility accomplishing each step pf the process. Although I was unable to use Agility at this time, I would surelyconsider it in the future and call John to handle the plans for a move.
