Efficient and Professional.

Disclaimer: I have been in NYC for 11 years now and have moved roughly 5 times due to schooling and/or just wanting to try out different areas of the city so its safe to say I have ALOT of experience when it comes to moving!

With that being said, Admiral Van Lines is by far ONE OF THE BEST moving company in the city to work with when dealing with this stressful process. From requesting the quote to the final moments of them completing the job, Ahmat (the foreman) and his team were incredibly professional, fair in pricing, an overall great group of men, and I had an awesome experience! (Note: I have NEVER before said moving was awesome so this is a first :) He brought a team of three and they did amazing work, didn't go a minute over the time that was suggested even though it would have been totally understandable . They know what they are doing and it completely shows. Not one piece of furniture was harmed or scratched and when someone mentions "going the extra mile" I will now be reminded constantly of this company. My significant other and I took some extra cards because they will now be our moving company for the rest of the time while in the city and we plan to pass the word on to our friends/family! #Professional #FairPricing #Efficient # VeryNicePeople #Awesome.

Excellent job.

Admiral Van Lines is Absolutely the BEST! Don't waste your time with others, if you can schedule with these guys! Mario and his crew came at 8:30 AM, and my 3 bdrms worth of furniture and boxes was loaded, driven over 1 hour to my new house, and unloaded by 5 PM. This has got to be some kind of record!!
I did spend some money getting pre move help with packing my boxes, and I did take multiple trips with my loaded SUV to my new house. All boxes were marked with their room destination as well, so I was pretty organized. I also purged a bit as there are items for Salvation Army to Pick up still here at my old house. Admiral Van Lines completely filled their 24 ft truck and actually I do have a couple more trips to make as there were a couple items that wouldn't fit in the truck, but they only left a few light items for me.
Admiral Van Lines were fast, fair, and actually didn't even stop to eat lunch because the one guy was in a hurry! And they were very careful going through the doorways. Don't think they scratched any walls either. I admittedly got a really great deal here. There is a reason for the many positive reviews!
Thank you guys! Its nice to know there are still honest people doing business!! Many, MANY blessings to you!

SCAM: Admiral Van Lines - DO NOT HIRE.

SCAM SCAM SCAM. Stay as far away from these people as possible. They are dishonest, rude and use classic bait and switch techniques to scam you when they have your items held hostage in their truck. They make false guarantees by undercutting competitors with pricing and schmooze you to using them and give you hell in your own home by tacking on additional charges that could've easily been calculated before a job. Use Yelp for real reviews.

We were quoted and guaranteed the move would cost $425. When items were loaded, a bill of $838.70 was presented for:
- 1 extra hour of moving
- Fuel cost of $35.70 which is 7% of "base" cost of $510
- Packing cost of $126
- Tolls of $67
- Insurance $100

Tolls, fuel and insurance costs could've been calculated and presented upfront because they have the starting and ending destinations. I was standing in front of the guys as they were needlessly saran wrapping furniture, that was advertised as included in the cost, without giving me a heads up that it will cost money.

At the end, they went down to $700, but demanded tip after a long and painful extortion experience.

1-star move; 5-star headache.

The nightmare started when the movers arrived at the pickup location. Instead of the flat fee that was quoted and agreed upon by Frank, we had to pay an additional $100 for the COI. After calling the company and speaking to Gregory, he said that he would lower it to $50. After my father also called Gregory, he said he would lower it to $25.

When the movers showed up to my apartment, Eric knocked on my door and said that unfortunately the couches which I had measured would not fit in my elevator. The agreement was that they would bring it up 5 flights of stairs in the case the couches did not fit in the elevator. I had explained this to him, and it quickly escalated into an argument, which I’m sure woke up all the residents in my building. He proceeded to tell me that it wouldn’t fit in the stairwell, in my hallway, and in my doorframe either, one excuse after another. This shocked me since I had measured the couch and dimension of my apartment doorway beforehand. After about 2 hours of arguing, getting out my tape measure to measure the hallways myself, and Eric repeatedly telling me “no fit” and not even attempting to bring it up the stairs, he demanded that I pay him in full at hat moment. I’m not sure if it was laziness or lack of experience (although he said he had 15 years of experience).

We suggested merely trying to bring the couch up the stairs and into my apartment, and to the very moment we got to my door, he kept yelling that it won’t fit and this is a waste of time. I do not have 15 years experience in moving and should not be personally lifting furniture, but I asked them to step aside while I started to take this into my own hands. I showed them how to take in the couch from the bottom instead of the top..and it fit. Isn’t that what movers are for?

We went back for couch number 2, and they couldn’t get the leg of the couch off. Thankfully, the Couch Doctor had arrived already as I was told by Eric an hour prior that the only way to get the couch in was to cut it. I paid extra for an emergency couch doctor to help screw and unscrew the legs of the couch as the movers were incapable of this. Isn’t that what movers are for?

I do have to say that the two men working with Eric (don’t know their names) were the only ones helping, but unfortunately they took Eric’s leadership cue of not doing anything unless he instructed it..which wasn’t much. At one point they asked me to take the couch pillows up to my apartment. Isn’t that what I paid movers for?

They left all the doors open and unlocked on their way out of the building. I spent 4+ hours of my weekend morning arguing that we had a flat fee, debating that the couch fit, measuring the walls myself, getting laziness from Eric, and showing the movers how to do their job. I am extremely disappointed in the service and would definitely not recommend if you want to get any job done.

Good moving company.

The best priced, most efficient, most responsible, and most professional movers in the entire state of New York and New Jersey that provides a 5 star service with a 5 star crew! Ahnad, Gid, Joe, & Alex were excellent! My review is highly credible due to the fact that I have experienced several moving companies related to moving numerous times from various states and countries. I also did extensive research and contacted other moving companies before deciding on Admiral Van Lines. Look no further as they truly are the best moving company available in the area to meet all of your needs and accommodate for your unique moving circumstances. I was highly impressed with their willingness to negotiate the best price while meeting my own special moving needs beyond my expectations within a 24 hour request. Their expertise in moving skills, proving clear communication, compassionate care, integrity, and reliability reflected in their work including arriving on time as promised. Each mover is extremely polite, respectful, has a strong work ethic, takes pride in their role, and has excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills. Additionally, each mover is multilingual and highly intelligent which is a major asset when you have your precious items in the care and hands of others. They moved my items more carefully and efficiency compared to all of the other moving companies I have used in the past. They took initiative by boxing up and removing each item from my storage unit and assembled all of my furniture quickly without any instructions at the new place. Very impressive! I can honestly say that Admiral Van Lines are the best moving company I have ever used. I know I made the right choice as evidence by the excellent moving experience I had today with them. I highly recommend Admiral Van Lines to anyone.

I was quoted 149/hour 3 hour minimum. with free storage for one week. then a 10% discount on the move in.

$447 for move out
$407 move in.

I have texts agreeing that that is everything.

The guy shows up to move me out. It’s now >$50 added for toils. and now its four hours minimum and some other fees. they want $700 for what ends up being 30 minutes of moving. I am not moving furniture. Its 10 boxes. After going back and forth we get it back down to $550

I have no choice as it’s the last day of my lease and I am a woman moving out with no help. /

I arrange to have my things delivered Friday at noon. At noon I get a call for 3. I am not home at three, and my building does not allow weekend move ins. We agree to Monday at 8.

Mo day at 9:30 I get a call. Instead of my things a guy waltzes into my apartment and demands $550. He tells me cash now or I can’t have my things.

Imagine you’re a single woman waiting for your movers and someone comes in and says hand me the money or no things. No where in sight are my things.
I ask about my discount and ask why the price keeps going up. He say fine with discount $500.

During this time, I am told he doesn’t care and I can complain all I want because “ I own this city”

Every time I call dispatch I get hung up on and told give him the money.
I am sitting in my apartment now waiting to see my things.

Don’t Hire.

Under NO circumstances hire Admiral Van Lines! I WISH I would have read these reviews before booking them. I have a very similar story to many of the 1-star reviews. They have the scam down cold.

Get there, (4 hours late in my circumstance) try to up-charge from $297 to $1,000. Then they tried to runaway when I didn’t comply. It was August 30th and they knew I would be stuck with Labor Day weekend but thankfully some friends came to the rescue. I was up that day till 11:30am the next morning but it was worth it to not let these guys touch my stuff.

No saving grace for this despicable company. Don’t be fooled here, go look at their Yelp reviews!

Best Moving Experience.

I was having a hard time finding a moving company that would answer my phone calls, let alone give me a reasonably detailed quote. In fact 2 other moving companies I found were downright rude to me.

Then I found Admiral Van Lines via a Google search, and I am so glad I did.

The salesperson Andy on the phone was detail-oriented (I guess they use a software program for their estimations). He was clear, forthcoming, and followed up via email. He promised that the bill was based on the in/out time, and they don't round-up. I was skeptical at first, but there was something about his candidness and transparency that appealed to me. He called me again the day before to confirm the move across town.

On the day of the move, the moving guys (Alex, Pata and Hus) arrived almost 20 minutes early. They were fairly low-key and professional (as much as muscular, sports-loving, strapping young men can be, at any rate). They wrapped/padded and loaded my property up with the necessary material to ensure that nothing would break. They drove off in the big-ass truck and arrived at the destination *LESS THAN 5 MINUTES* AFTER ME!

Let that sink in for a minute, folks. After all, we're talking about a moving company, here.

Without further ado, they checked out the house layout, then proceeded to offload our property with efficiency and care. Even though my wife and I sometimes accidentally misdirected them on item placement, they accepted the changes graciously and with ZERO GRUMBLING (at least within our earshot, hahaha).

At the end, they marked the time accurately, and invoiced me for a cost that was slightly lower than the original estimate. I gave them the maximum recommended tip, and they seemed really grateful. But later on, my wife was like, you should have given a little more, because they were so hardworking and accommodating.

In summary: the Admiral Van Lines salesperson AND their moving guys communicated honestly, fully and professionally.. they moved my belongings swiftly, were hardworking, and kept their promises. This is literally the most non-BS experience I've ever had with a moving company. Hopefully they keep up the good work, keep hiring good movers, and their positive reputation spreads.

When I move again (because unfortunately I am in a rental), I will definitely call Admiral Van Lines and ask for Alex and his crew if they are still available. And next time I'll be sure to tip more than the recommended amount!

Efficient and Affordable.

I had a wonderful experience with this moving company! I was extremely nervous as I am on a very tight budget and could not afford for any hidden fees, but the people I spoke with seemed nice and I figured this was a good option.

The movers arrived right on time, and got straight to work. They took all the precautions to ensure that my belongings would be safe in the move. They quickly arrived at my new home and began to unload all of my things and place them where I asked. I am very particular and maybe was a little picky with where things went, but the moving team was patient and I did not hear any complaining from them.

In the end, the final price was almost exactly the quoted price (a little less!), and I couldn’t be happier with my experience.

Please, look no further than Admiral Van Lines when searching for your moving company.
