Perfect.

We found Top Movers when we decide to move into our new home, in NY. These guys did such a good job. We had 3 storage buildings while waiting on our home to be finished. Movers worked so hard for 12 hours, nonstop, without any compaining. And we had really heave pieces to move. I highly recommend them. They were extremely friendly and polite. If I need moving services again, will definitely give them another call. Hoping not to move again for a long time but still there was a great experience!

Run!!

This company not only demands that you sign a blank contract while they are moving your items into their truck, they also want to be picky about where you get your money order from or they want cash. To say the least, I thought it would be a teachable moment for them on best business practice but, while they took furniture apart, screws were left behind (thankfully, I picked them up) but, they DOUBLED the "firm" quote. Then I asked for a quote on storage 15 days prior to end of contact, they waited to submit that 4 days prior and demanded that a payment be made and they wanted it mailed to an address in Brooklyn, NY. At this point, I could no longer take the unprofessional and unethical behavior, I requested for my items to be delivered ASAP. Not only they did schedule a time without consulting me and expected me to accept their "time." They finally changed the date to a day that worked with my scheduled and gave 5 different times of a delivery, causing me to miss work and cancel all of my scheduled events for the day, yet they didn't arrive to my location until LATE at night.

Bill will try "power moves" along with Demitri about who is the "owner" of this business and how he is "Mary's boss" when you request to speak to the owner- in short: YOU CAN EXPECT THE RUN AROUND AND TURN AROUND, AND to top it off.. ATTITUDE!

Moving experience.

My experience was not so cool with my previous mover last year, so I did some research before hiring this time. I was extremely worried about whom to believe with our belongings. I started finding a good mover on internet and I picked up five companies and called all of them.
Top movers sent a guy to my apartment next day. I am sorry that I forgot the name of the person who came to make estimate for but he did an excellent job. It was very accurate. Finally I went to Top movers office and reserved a move date relocation from New Jersey to California. When the crew arrived, we were not packed completely. So the guys were really good and helpef with packing. They even gave us few boxes for free. Every item was either shrink wrapped or wrapped in padded blankets.
They disassembled my big furniture and reassembled everything back once they came at my new house to deliver my stuffs in Los Angeles.
It was obviously a good move. Thank you Top Movers for conducting a great move for us!

Overcharged and unresponsive to damage claim.

We had heard all the nightmare stories from friends about interstate moving, so when I called this company, right up front I told them I would be contacting the BBB and all available media sources for any shady business practices, so here I am.
We were provided an estimate, spent a lot of time on possible scenarios that would cause additional charges incurred and were assured everything was carefully considered and so we paid in full the same day we were invoiced.
When the movers showed up, we were told the "stairs" calculation was done incorrectly and were charged an additional sum. We called our rep immediately and were assured this was a miscommunication, and we would be reimbursed.
An item was broken during the move. We were told to fill out the paperwork to submit a claim, which we did immediately, along with a photo of the broken piece, and a picture of the item from where it was purchased, along with the price. We emailed all of it to our rep.
To date (and now we are 3 months into the wait) no one will answer the phone, or reply to emails. They have totally gone dark. When I registered a complaint on the FMCSA website, I added the US DOT number I was given for this mover, and it appears to be bogus as their system could not find it.
My next complaint is with the BBB.

Good luck to anyone using this company. It's a gamble at best. It's also interesting that most reviews are poor and 1 or 2 stars but their overall rating is good??

First, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience that the customer may have experienced. It is never our intention for our customers to be less than satisfied with our services.

When creating an estimate we are dependent upon the customer to provide us complete and accurate information about their inventory list and the services they wish to receive. We try to do our best at asking the proper questions to extract the necessary information from the customer, but sometimes customers' schedules are so busy that it is a struggle to get time to cover a complete inventory list; let alone additional services. However, most of the info the customer needs is in the estimate. This very important document is emailed to the customer for them to review at their convenience before they are asked to sign in agreement and before we ask for a deposit to reserve the date and crew. We include the very legible terms which address the customer's complaints.
As for damages, we have basic liability insurance that is included in the price and a customer has to fill out a claim form to start the claim process. Mrs Murphy did not return a claim form, and unfortunately we cannot start the loss and damage claim process without it.
If the customer honestly believes that they were overcharged we would like to have them file a claim with our 3rd party claims company, CSI. They are not part of our company and are truly a neutral unbiased company which will review all of the evidence provided and determine if there was an overcharge. If we did inadvertently overcharge the customer in any way we will then refund any overages. It is disheartening that the customer feels that we would purposefully charge them for services they claim they did not receive. Move.

I recently used Top Movers to move to LA, and they did a wonderful job. The movers were professionals. everything was handled with care especially the items from my upper level that had to be brought downstairs. In California apartment they took time to help me set the house up. They put items where I asked and not just piled them up in a room. The best part about them move was that I paid exactly what was quoted and did not have any surprises at the end. I recommend these guys to anyone looking for a reliable stress free moving company.

Great moving experience.

I hired Top movers for my move from CT to Florida. Everything went greate, Bill provided me with detailed estimate over the phone and explained all possible charges. Movers were polite and hard working and I received my furniture in Tampa just in 3 days. Just make sure You prepare cash for delivery, I completely forgot about that and thanks god Bill called me on Saturday, And I had time to go to the bank to get enough cash. Very pleasant experience, I will recommend top movers to my friends.

Perfect!

I did my move a while ago and just now I’m getting the time to write the review. I received quotes from few different companies with Top movers quote being just about in the middle.

The movers were extremely punctual, friendly and upfront with all of the charges associated with our move. My place was empty within four hours, that was a lot quicker than I expected. It took 5 days to get my furniture and boxes to FL, and everyone in the crew and on the phone were extremely professional and helpful. Delivery was smooth, nothing was damaged or broken.

I would recommend Top Movers without hesitation and will definitely use them again.

Predatory Practices.

For an interstate move of one item they quoted $477.54 but upon delivery demanded over $800 and threatened to take my item with them if I did not pay them what they demanded.

In my opinion their business practices are unethical. My understanding of federal regulation is it is against regulation to charge more than 110% of a non-binding estimate for an interstate move.

The original estimate clearly states that the customer's move will be charged by the hour, not charged for space reservation in the truck. The space reservation option is used for long distance moves where consolidation of shipments in a 75' tractor trailer is used for pickup, delivery; or both. The customer was quoted an hourly rate, but their move required additional time as the order for the move changed.

If the customer honestly believes that they were overcharged we would like to have them file a claim with our 3rd party claims company, CSI. They are not part of our company and are truly a neutral unbiased company which will review all of the evidence provided and determine if there was an overcharge. If we did inadvertently overcharge the customer in any way we will then refund any overages. It is disheartening that the customer feels that we would purposefully charge them for services they claim they did not receive. CSI will research this situation.

We have contacted CSI our claims service provider to initiate a claim file for the customer and allow them to file a proper claim as required by law. The customer was sent login information on 04/11/16 in order to file a claim online and up to date no claim has been received. The claim login information sent to the customer allows filing a claim for loss, damage, delay, overcharge, and complaint. All the above can and must be compensated through the claims process as required by federal regulations. The customer states he refuses to file a claim. However, they signed a contract stating that they would file a claim to allow us the 1st opportunity to reach an agreement, as the law states, instead of filing complaints. If the customer is truly interested in an amicable resolution they will file their claim and allow a "fresh set of eyes" to review this concern and any supporting evidence. If the customer chooses not to file a claim it is clearly indicative that they just wish to defame our company with their multiple complaints for no reason. We are trying to reach out to the customer and would like them to realize this.

We regret that the customer found it necessary to file a Yelp complaint, but we trust that the above explanation enables them to better understand our position in this matter.

Overcharged almont1k.

The only part of this move that was nice was Bill the sales agent! I gave a detailed list of items I had pieces that I didn't bring and was quoted 980 less! The 3 men moving me spoke broken English they charged me 31$ to wrap mattresses that I had covers for! The one moved stunk of cigarettes the other one smelt like he hasn't showered in a month they were rude and then I look at the paper and it says 150 for gratuity! The supervisor a women with an accent is useless! I had 4 other moving co quote me less that came into my home and looked at what I was moving! Worst moving experience ever! The most unprofessional company I have ever ever dealt with!
