Loaders and unloaders were fantastic. Fast, efficient, and where I had special-wrapping and protection applied-it was secure ($pendy tho, 80 bucks each piece).

I packed my own boxes, so didn’t use that service.

I also wrote down and sent them a full inventory of items, with pictures and such, before they showed up. This was wise as their first estimate was waaayy too low- and I knew it. When they got my list and pics, the estimate went from 700cf to 1200cf.

Quite a significant change. But the 1200cf estimate was exactly what we used, and everything made it.

The irritants are the usuals: They were four days late picking up my sh*, then it sat for another WEEK before they got it loaded on a long-haul truck and on its way (1600 mile move). While it was in limbo, I had a hell of a time getting anyone to answer the phone or call me back. That drove me up the wall. Delays I can understand, not communicating is unforgivable.

They are a BROKER. They deny it, but I ended up working with several different named entities, including one call Midwestern Van Lines— the rudest people, but at least they were honest about my crap being stuck waiting on a truck.

When the truck did arrive; boy was I glad I’d taken care boxing my stuff up and paying the $80 to wrap and protect my major furniture pieces. Someone else’s antiques were on that truck and all that was left of it was kindling.

Would I use them again?! Maybe.. but I’m wiser now about what to expect.

Tips: KNOW exactly the stuff you want moved, with an accurate inventory, dimensions and photos. Pad your numbers by 10%, and maybe you’ll get a realistic estimate ( realistically, what do you expect from them over the phone?)

Also- if it’s valuable and delicate - pack it well enough they can treat it like sh*.

Because that’s what’s going to happen.
