I was unsure of the process of shipping a car (in this case from CA to NC). What I discovered was there is no direct contact with any transport company. There are many broker companies out there, ALL persistent and at times annoying. Once I chose MONTWAY, the process was smooth. They explained the process and everything happened as described. The timely updates throughout the process were very helpful. The driver was good to work with. Car delivered without problems and in same condition as picked up. I would recommend MONTWAY for anyone seeking shipping car services.

Last month I purchased a car from North Carolina, I live in Florida and just thinking about towing a trailer up there, the gas, hotels and well, just the time involved, I decided to find a transport company. I had several friends suggest Montway. Best decision I ever made! The driver was outstanding, he called me on a Sunday afternoon saying he could be at my house within the hour. Unfortunately I was in Detroit at the Airport waiting to board a plane home to Florida. I told him I would not be home until 1130 that night. He told me, no problem, I will be there! As I pulled up to my house, there on the trailer sat my beloved 1969 GTO! I couldn't be more pleased! I was like an 8 year old on Christmas morning ! Now, when I hear the name, Montway, I get a big smile on my face! Thank you Montway, you made my day, I will always recommend Montway to anyone who requires transport service!

How to write a review while sounding both positive and showing appreciation while helping others know what might happen...

In order to move my car from CA to NV I signed up initially on a Monday, looking for transport one week in the future, now I know I should schedule with two or maybe three weeks advanced notice.

The driver who picked up the car did an outstanding job, treating my car as if it were their own, not rushing anything and making sure everything was configured the best way possible. It's nice when you see someone who handles your property with the care and attention that the owner would.

I'll definitely be using Montway in the future, just be sure to give enough time :-)

I used Montway to ship my car from Connecticut to Tennessee in August. To my full satisfaction, both the pickup and delivery were on time and within three days as they promised. The whole transport process was transparent and trackable and done professionally. My car arrived in the same condition as it was picked up from the pictures taken before and after the delivery. The trucking driver who transported my car was polite, responsible, and pleasant to talk to. I had nothing more to desire from this service. I will certainly use Montway again for future transport needs.

As a comparison, I also contacted another big auto transport company before Montway. They did everything they could to get the order but when I submitted the paperwork for my order, they became elusive and avoided answering any questions for tracking details. I considered myself lucky not to go with that company!

Montway provided a great gateway for me to be able to move a car from Florida to Arizona. I had to reschedule pick up because of paperwork but no problem! The reschedule pick up was timely, efficient and arrived safely at the other end. Appreciate all the immediate responses from customer service and would highly recommend. The price was better with Montway directly than going through the bidding services. The transport company who took my job were kind and answered all my questions and kept in touch.

First time using a car transport service and the experience couldn’t have been easier! Talked to Harry regarding how it all works and quickly filled out the forms - no obligation and no money up front. The car was picked up the committed date and delivered before committed date to the destination. Driver texted/called along the way so we knew exactly where our car was and when to expect delivery. I would definitely recommend Montway to anyone shipping their vehicle. Driver also very friendly. He used to give updates frequently till the car delivered day. Nice job. good chat always available and responsive 24*7. Overall good experience. car delivered from NJ to CA within committed time with good condition with care.

Their driver should have asked for more money when he picked the SUV up, not try to extort more on delivery. The driver saw the items in the back when he loaded the SUV onto his carrier, he drove it! He used the rear view mirror! We both took videos and pictures of the SUV before it left, inside and out. Not a peep about an extra100lbs, blocked views or needing more money! He just drove off!

I do not agree the extra extorted "amount was Fair". The driver screwed himself out of a decent tip. I have much more honest pic's of what was in the back. The driver taking a pic from 10 inches away makes anything look larger than it is. A spare tire and mower weigh less than 100 lbs. Neither was blocking any view or not secure.

I understand now why deliveries are C.O.D. cash only. Mistakes, lies and extortion are much easier when you are in possession of our vehicles and demand cash only on delivery. No charge backs! Pretty shady way to run a business. I should have read the reviews closer. (As noted previously, Montway seems be writing a large number of their own Yelp and social media reviews)

"Montway is merely an aggregator of independent carriers. They do not ship the cars themselves or have any real skin in the game other than their reputation. Speaking of which, their rep is totally exaggerated on most of those fake review sites giving them 5 stars." Anthony S.

The non English speaking CSR that I could not understand hung up on me when I said I was having a tough time understanding her. Montway, don't bother replying with one of the "blame the customer" cookie cutter replies. The facts are what they are. Don't ever count on us for future business or as a positive reference.

Does Montway 1099 the drivers? Didn't think so. I am going to contact the IRS about your cash only business model. Sure Montway takes CC's for your part of the pie. But you have hundreds of contractors collecting cash all over the USA daily. I doubt much of it gets reported. Yeah, we know that's not your problem, but you can bet the IRS will be contacting Montway first about it.

From my initial contact, Montway was professional and very responsive to questions I had. I also appreciated greatly not being inundated with texts, emails, and calls daily (For some other transport companies, it was multiples of one or contact methods daily. These companies were removed from consideration. I do not like hard sells, at all.).

From the time I contacted Montway that i was ready to ship the car to the time the car reached its destination over 2,000 miles away was exactly one week. The communication throughout the entire process was great. I was clearly informed about every step of the way. I recommend Montway very highly.

The dispatch and driver were direct in planning the transport, communicative throughout its passage and efficient at a really high level. They were both also incredibly warm and attentive to my anxieties about the process. They communicated Consistently and got the job done in exactly the ways they promised… If I were moving again I would call them again and, this time, without anxiety! I’m not sure what they could’ve done that would’ve made it better… Their service, their people and their costs were great!

I own my own towing business for 36 years. It was convenient for me to go pick up my new vehicle in Ohio. I called Montway and they sent george from Nordic Transport to do the job. Montway from the very first call until dropped at my door in New Jersey was perfectly on point each step of the way. They did not know that I owned my own towing business until the job was complete. I had very high expectations when hiring someone to do a job for me that I have been doing professionally for close to 40 years. They exceeded every part of the service I expected. I would use them again without hesitation, also I will be recommending them for any jobs that I cannot do. Montway is simply the best!

Pickup and delivery were easy to schedule. The driver was friendly, considerate of our college student’s needs, chose an easy access place for pick up. He was careful in inspecting the car at pickup, kindly pointing to any defects as he marked them on the auto diagram on the pickup sheet. We were able to send needed college room necessities in the car as long as they weighted less than 100 pounds and were below auto windows and covered to discourage possible theft. This was so helpful!!

Gratefully, the driver chose a safe place to deliver the auto within walking distance for the college student.

The car arrived in the same condition it was at pickup. Contents intact! It was well worth the price to have car transported in the middle of severe snow storms and COVID issues. The cost of transportation ($1,350.00 by credit card) versus the cost of gas, added mileage and increased maintenance, COVID exposure while driving, and the possibility of an accident during the long drive from CA to MI during snow storms made cross country transportation a good option. This company was great!!

The driver provided his direct cell phone number and was available for updates and answered any questions. So happy we used this company!!

I debated whether to put ONE star, but chose two because Montway did put forth some effort. This is just my story, but I feel like I need to put it out there for others looking to ship their car.

I was well aware Montway is just a broker. The actual company that brought me my car did a great job. My issue is with the "transparency" Montway says they strive for.

I requested a quote to ship my daughters car from the east coast to the west coast. Was quoted $1659. I agreed to this price and signed a contract.

On day 6 from my first requested day of pick up, I received an urgent message to contact Montway.

I'm informed they found a carrier, but the cost would be $490 MORE! I argued until I was blue in the face that I had a signed contract for $1659, but now they wanted $2149!! They told me it was the carrier asking for more money (because of low demand) and if I didn't want to pay it, they would have to start the search all over again, which would take "weeks" and there would still be NO WAY my original price would be picked up by anyone! So now that my daughter is back in CA and her car is stuck in MA, I felt like I had no other option than to agree. We needed the car back! After much more arguing and several more phone conversations, they took $100 off.

So the car was picked up and I was told 7-10 days for delivery.

On day 11, I received a phone call saying the car was JUST NOW leaving MA! So it sat somewhere for 11 days!!!

We received the car 7 days later (on a carrier FULL of cars)

I then started the process of trying to get back the remaining $390 because of the original contract I signed.

I was repeatedly informed that the contract is "transparent" and says the cost is an estimate. I have read the contract I signed six times, and it does NOT say that. Why in the world is a contract signed if not for the price quoted on it??! Then I'm told it doesn't say in the contract that the price is firm...but this is why there is a contract that I sign, right?!

I'm offered another $100 off and am told there is absolutely no way they can provide the entire refund and are not in the capacity to do so. I finally gave up. So I'm very disappointed and feeling taken advantage of.

Just be aware, the price you sign for on the contract is just an ESTIMATE. It may be the price you pay, or you may get to pay a lot more.

I moved a car from DC to DFW. I did one day of research, chose Montway because of good, competitive price along with very positive reviews. Made decision on Sunday with Tuesday scheduled pick-up. Transport was able to meet me at my house in DC. Then transit to DFW area was two days with drop-off at my driveway. There was good communication, I had the number of the driver to coordinate pickup and delivery. It was very smooth and I would not hesitate to use Montway again or recommend them as well.
