United Moving Services Inc.

My husband and I needed to move everything across the continental US with short notice due to his job. We called a few moving businesses initially, but decided on United Moving Services due to their professional responses and affordable rates.
Unfortunately, we had heard quite a few horror stories in regards to moving everything (including the car) across the United States. Thankfully, the manager re-assured us with shipment guarantees and protection plans to help ease our worried and increasingly stressed minds. United Moving Services did an incredible job helping us from start to end with the entire moving process. The workers themselves were careful, organized, and extremely professional. Beyond that, the workers were all genuinely fun, happy people who prided themselves in working for United Moving Services. The communication throughout the moving was impeccable, we were constantly updated about the process of our move.
 
The moving process was extremely smooth and speedy, and we had no complaints whatsoever. If we ever have to move again, we will use them again. .

Service cost: $600

Abysmal, and if they had a lower rating I would pick it. I ended up filing a dispute for the deposit charges with my credit card company for a refund. They have ZERO cancellation or refund policy, do NOT tell you that while on the call or reviewing the contract, and when addressing, their customer service is downright disrespectful and insulting. I would gladly have forfeit the deposit just to avoid them being responsible for my belongings in the end. Don't do it!!

Great company full of helpful people. Everything arrived in perfect condition and not only on time, but early. It was difficult enough to move a long distance, but the transition was made much easier with United's help. I am also very happy with the reasonable costs. After checking out several other companies, this one seemed to be the best value for our specific needs. I am so happy with the service during our recent move and have already recommended United Services. .

I booked my move through Jamie with United Moving Services in August of 2014 from West Virginia to Orlando Florida.
From the date that I signed the contract, Nothing went as promised.
The moving date came and I was notified that the movers would not arrive until the following day.
I contacted Jamie and voiced my anger and the fact that I was scheduled to be in Orlando the following morning and that I could not wait.
A couple hours later, a truck arrived.
The contract clearly tells you DO NOT SIGN the inventory sheet if the driver has loaded the items on the truck before providing a full inventory.
When I advised the driver and showed him this in the contract, the told me that all of my items were on his truck and his property until I signed and paid the balance which was nearly 2000 dollars more that the original quote.
I spoke with Jamie once again and was advised that it would be taken care of.
I ask the driver about additional insurance since nothing on the paperwork he had finally given me had any options of additional insurance. The driver advised me that I already had 10,000 insurance with my contract.
My items were to be delivered on a date provided by the mover, that day came and a week later finally the truck arrived.The driver tells me that I have a balance of nearly 2000 dollars, again, I am being charged again double what I owed. I ended up calling the police at that time I spoke with the dispatcher and after several calls, I agreed to pay $1000 just so I could get my furniture and get settled.
Finally I had my items, or so I thought. The driver and his helper began to carry items into my apartment that were not mine. I advised three times, these are not my items.
I walk out to the truck just to find that the items were not mine at all. After arguing with the driver, he calls his dispatch and tells me that my items are further back in the truck than they should have been and that he would have to drive across town to unload another families items. He stated he would be back by 9pm.
10 pm came and still not truck. I called the driver and was advised that again my itmes were not in site. after midnight, the driver finally responded to my calls and said that he would return the following morning at 10 am.
Yep 10 am came and no truck. The driver kept rejecting my phone calls to the point I called the police and the officer came back out and filed a stolen property report. The officer made several attempts to call the driver as well as the dispatch.
When he spoke with Dispatch, they advised him that The truck had delivered my items the day before and that I only paid $500 of the $1000 balance. The officer advised that I had infact paid the full $1000 balance and that the driver left with my items in order to unload another families items. Dispatch said they would contact the driver.
After about 45 minutes of filing the report with the police, the truck pulled up.
United Moving Services Inc has done NOTHING to help with the claim for all of the missing and destroyed antique items.
I had boxes clearly marked FRAGILE ANTIQUES DO NOT STACK. When I walked out to the truck, I took pictures of these clearly marked boxes which were on the floor of the truck with large boxes and furniture stacked on top of them.
The boxes were crushed along with everything in them.
I have fought with the moving company for over a year being promised payment and now find out that the company has been suspended for 90 by the Department of Transportation.
Attempts to call United Moving Services have gone unanswered.
I would advise anyone that is looking to move, DO NOT USE UNITED MOVING SERVICES NOR GALAXY MOVING SYSTEMS INC. THEY ARE BOTH SCAM ARTIST AND WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR ITEMS WILL BE LOST AND DESTROYED.

Could not have had a worse experience with this company. I cannot believe they are still in business. The initial set up was done without incident - after that it was lie, after lie, after lie. I called one week prior to the move and was guaranteed, 100%, that the movers would be there on either May 23rd, or 24th without exception. Received a call on May 24th at 4pm - the movers would be there at 7:00 am on the 25th. The movers arrived (with an already half filled truck from another move) at 8:00 am on the 25th - the driver stated they were there at 7am but didn't want to start until 8am, so they waited in a parking lot down the street. There were only 2 men with the truck - they stated more movers would be arriving shortly - about 10 am 3 men arrived, spoke with driver, they discussed their pay rate and were not satisfied with what they would be paid so they left. (They found these people on Craigs' list.) They then had to call for more help, which arrived 3 hrs. later. 4 trucks(already half filled) had to be used.

The movers finally left at 11pm stating that the move would take at least 3-5 days. After a week we began calling the moving company, would not return calls and when we were finally able to talk to someone there were multiple excuses - truck broke, no crew etc. The furniture finally arrived today, June 29th - furniture was dirty and damaged, lamps broken, legs missing from couches, 2 leather chairs slashed, mattress & box spring missing, just to name a few.

I will tell everyone I know and will post in as many places as I can so no one else would have to go thru what we went thru with this company.
