The only reason I gave one star is because the people that unpacked us in PA were great! The rest is a nightmare. We called MovingAPT and got a quote, but they never come out and look at what you want to move. So you give your best estimate and we initially got a decent quote, but I felt like it might go up. Then some guy (Joe?) called and started asking again what I wanted so he updated the quote and it doubled. The call was painful because the phone connection was horrible, I couldn't hear him half the time. Then Marissa called to get payment - and again a horrible connection and I could barely hear what she is saying. We agreed to a 3 day window (July 17-19) for the packout because we got a discount. With less than 24 hours notice, they told us when they would be arriving and then were late not arriving until 4pm. The driver had a different Bill of Lading than what I had. So he spent at least an hour on the phone trying to get that worked out and then the total on the Bill of Lading was in pounds, but he needed cubic feet so that took more time with nothing getting done. We had everything in our garage due to extensive renovations being done on the inside of our house. We had an area of things that were not to be packed off in a separate area. Not only did they still pack some of the items, but they also put items that should have been packed in the do not pack area of the garage. I caught some of it, but I couldn't follow them around the whole time. It turns out I should have because they did a HORRIBLE job packing our household goods! They just tossed stuff in a box - many of which should have been wrapped - and put paper on top of the box. And items in the boxes together made no sense! They put "Kitchen" on at least 8 boxes of items that contained no kitchen items. And they took packing boxes that we had purchased and used them. They knew they weren't theirs because the boxes said Home Depot or Lowe's on them. They finally finished packing on the second day, but we still had to follow them around and tell them to pack items. I couldn't even read the pages of our list of items on the 4th page so I had to take pictures of every single page that had items listed on it, After all of this, the guy in charge tells me that my price again has gone up - so we end of paying 3 times the actual amount we were originally quoted (started at $9K, ended up paying $27K!). What could we do - they had all our stuff on their truck! And then the crew stands around you while the head guy says you can tip them. It was very uncomfortable to say the least. With all of the price increases and after two deposits we still owed a little over $10K. We were then told that it had to be in cash or a postal money order - which means cash only because postal money orders have a $1K limit. Any time I questioned this, the response was it was in the contract you signed, Yes, the one I signed after all of our stuff was on the truck! Not a word was said about cash or money order until then! It's all a big racket with these scammers and I question how legal much of what they do is. The one positive of this whole experience was the people in PA that unloaded the truck and brought stuff into the house. They were polite and funny and worked very hard! Avoid this company unless you want to be scammed and pay way more than you thought you would!

Run away from these scammers as fast as possible! This moving company could never get hired based on their bad services and horrible reviews. Therefore, they go through dishonest brokers to collectively deceive their customers. My recent move was totally a nightmare. I booked through Allegiance Moving and Storage who never told me they were just a broker. On the day of the move, two movers (later I found out from United) who did not speak English showed up with a small U-Haul. Then a woman kept calling me on the phone demanding more cash. I had to pay, otherwise they wouldn't pick up my stuff. I was quoted $2,599 for a 170-mile move for a one-bedroom apartment, but it was increased to $4,576.79 on the day of the move. I was left with no choice but to let these scammers blackmail me. Upon arrival, they demanded another $280 in cash claiming the elevator was too far away from the parking spot (which was not). I ended up paying $4,741.79 for such a small move, 180% of the original quote. When I called customer service the next day, they refused to do anything to correct their wrongdoing, also lied and insulted me. I've since reported both Allegiance and United to BBB, FMCAS and Attorney General's Office. I'm also taking them to court. If you also got scammed by this fraud moving company, you should do the same. I'm also exploring ways to see if a class action lawsuit could be filed. These scammers must be stopped ASAP!
