Stinky Service

Worst experience I’ve ever had with movers. The worst moving company. I do not recommend anybody use their service.

First thing one of the movers did before starting to work was ask to use the washroom, but then I realize he’s taking a stinky number 2 in my washroom. They wasted time talking, they didn’t have the proper tools and were ill prepared to complete the move. The movers also offered to make side deals for cash under the table which showed their employees integrity.

While on the clock they took smoke breaks which breezed into our new home where my 2 yr old could inhale the fumes. They packed the truck completely disorganized which had me worried about my possessions. Then oh wait what a surprise they cracked my 75 inch tv and their basic insurance only pays $60.

When the movers are leaving, the same guy asks to use my new unused bathroom but this time my wife said hell no. They stacked boxes clearly labeled don’t stack and they moved our fragile glass wear with little care. Then they forgot to unpack a cushion for our love seat and they didn’t return it for several days but when we do get it back it stinks like smoke so bad that its has to be replaced (yes that bad).

I am not pleased to share our horrible experience with Two Small Men With Big Hearts Movers but I can’t let you have the same thing happen to you. They exercised zero duty of care and barely any accountability for the damage that they caused. They will put any mistakes they make on you and tell you to use your home insurance which will up your premiums. Needless to say I do not recommend anybody use this service but if you do buyers beware of this untrustworthy company.

Horrible Experience

Initially, I wrote a great review and feedback for the movers that came and was happy with the service I received, I will leave the original review at the bottom for reference.

We have used 2 Small men to move our duplex to a new bigger house,

The movers tried to move our treadmill as required. They attempted to disassemble the machine (We all know it's impossible to carry a full-size treadmill as is), after messing with the treadmill for a half-hour, they came up and told us that they don't have the tools to take the treadmill apart. Therefore they won't be able to move the treadmill. I was very understanding and told them that I would go back with a friend to bring the treadmill to our new place.

I took a day off from work to go back with my friend to see that the movers had lied to us. They have stripped each one of the bolts on the treadmill to the point that it's not possible to take them out and disassemble the treadmill (And this is why they didn't take the treadmill with them). We tried different technics and wor for hours. We sold the house, and the new family asked us to remove the treadmill before taking possession. I lost a treadmill and many hours of work. The issue is far from getting resolved.

This is the response i have received from the manager. As for now, she is refusing to speak to me over the phone and\or come to any understanding.

I'm currently in the process of getting legal advice.

"Hi Ohad,

After speaking with the crew members they have informed us that they did not attempt to disassemble the treadmill. Derek had immediately realized that he did not have large enough tools for the hardware on the treadmill and had informed you of this.

Kindly,

Ali"

Do Not Recommend

Terrible experience! They broke and scratched furniture, damaged walls and lost items (including a piece of an antique which cannot be replaced). They attempted to make things right but it wasn't enough to cover the cost of the damages, not to mention the antique has now lost considerable value. The office staff were pleasant to deal with but the movers were very unprofessional. I would never recommend this company!

If I could give them no star I would

Driver arrived wreaking of pot. Couldn't complete move in one day as hired, we rented Uhaul at our expense on top of paying them. Crew disappeared for an hour, showed back up to work the driver kept jokingly saying about unloading everything into our garage which he bascially did despite everything being clearly marked. They damaged my brand new home scuffing front door, gouging office door, and scratching floors and stairway nosing, as well as black scuff marks throughout the house which when washed left an oily stain. We had possession of our new build for 24 hours and they did over $1500 damage. Their claims department staff are horrible to deal with and are not there for the customer. Do yourself a favor and go with a professional mover, a real one.

Dissatisfied

Terrible experience. Went to 8th Ave. instead of 88th. Ave. Consequently an hour late starting. I moved out of a retirement home. After the truck was loaded someone called me and said they were wandering around the building checking things out. I’m being charged by the hour. I called their dispatch and told them. Upon reaching my locker where everything was to be unloaded everything was thrown into the locker. The remainder of the furniture was delivered to my apartment with further damage to some furniture. Upon closer inspection of my locker a few weeks later I noticed some smaller items were missing. I should have checked out the truck before it left. Last time I use this outfit.

Quoted a price and didn't follow through

My experience with these movers was not what I expected at all. In the beginning I phoned and told them everything I had. Which isn't much since I'm in a 1 bedroom. I stored all my boxes in my closet which I told him how many and some other items I had downstairs and bigger items I had in storage with my totes. I decided to get a professional organizer to come and purge my stuff that I no longer need a donate. She filled her fan full to capacity. So had a lot less than quoted. When the 2 boys arrived the one talked alot to my roommate. Then they took apart my headboard that I have never taken apart in 8 moves. It took him 45 mins and another to put it back together. They left my firestick and my cords to my TV behind. Which I won't ever see again. When they got to my new house they were constantly taking my boxes that were marked storage to my room lol that were supposed to go outside on the deck. So more extra time going up and down stairs. They were not what I expected. In my past of moving companies I have never had to tell them to hury up lets go and stop talking to my roommate. I was looking forward to these guys being a success. Because of my disability with not being able to do much on my own. I was sadly mistaken. They still have not solved the issue. Or taken accountability for there movers taking there time and not being more knowledgeable about moving. I hate giving bad reviews but I feel taken advantage of. And the boys also asked for a tip in the beginning of the move which made me feel bad not to give them anything, cause I'm a nice person plus I'm a single mom.

Worst move I’ve had

I’ve moved a lot and have used movers the last 3-4 moves I’ve had. This is my first time using this company and I never will again.

First I got a call 30 minutes before my appointment time requesting if they can bring a third mover. I got flustered and said yes, he said it would be $30 more. I clarified an hour and he said yes. I said I guess so since it should get the move done faster. He then texted me 15 minutes prior to their time to let me know it was actually $40 and if that’s ok. I said fine but was already not impressed by the “upsell” timeline. No one prior to this in any of my set up had mentioned 3 movers, etc.

Then once at the apartment the load they were expecting was even smaller as I had moved all boxes myself the day before. Therefore they had a 1 bedroom apartment to move and only furniture. It took them almost 4 hours to do this move. With three of them!

Oh and the fun part was they took the last load from the apartment and had left some straps so I figured they would be back up to do a quick walk through with me to confirm no damage. About 40 minutes went by and I called the contact I had for the day and he let me know at that time that they were pulling up to the new place. That hadn’t even bothered to tell me they had left! Of course I got charged for all that extra time too that It took for me to catch up to them.. hope they enjoyed their 20 minute break.

The move back in was an absolute mess. They just put stuff where ever and other than the couch ask if they could help place anything.

And then of course because we went over the three hour mark, that I don’t believe I should have been over since I had three of them, I had to pay the overtime pricing.

This move cost me more than double the last time I moved, it’s absolutely ridiculous!

I will never use this company again for any future moves. And I definitely know I will have some.

Seriously lacking in customer service

I had some disturbing issues resulting from my move that I tried to resolve with the company - but after airing my concerns - the customer service person went silent. Nothing was resolved. Here is a list of my grievances:

- quoted a fair price, but due to lack of planning on the mover's part, the price of the move increased significantly as the truck driver allegedly could not get into a very large receiving area. Moving company kept goods hostage until I agreed to pay an extra $1000.

- movers would not wear masks and the building management of the building into which I moved made a claim against me for hiring movers who would not comply with building and provincial covid rules.

- the mover did not leave me the weigh tickets and when I finally tracked them down two weeks after the move, the weight of my move was a thousand pounds more than the quote even though i moved only 3 pieces of furniture (when I was quoted for 6 pieces) and the same number of boxes which i was quoted for. Sketchy calculations in that the mover took several hours between loading and weighing the load, and little explanation of the difference between quote and actual weight.

- movers moved a bag belonging to someone else into my home and proceeded to harass me verbally by text until they could get their bag back. I was out of province and was unable to accommodate them immediately. After the move, the company did nothing to apologize for, or make amends for, their employee's unprofessional and disturbing behaviour.

All in all, my belongings arrived to the destination safely - so if that is all you care about, this mover is fine. However, If you are looking for a fair price and a company who appears to care about your experience and strives to do better, this is not the company for you.

Untrustworthy and unprofessional

I have reason to believe that one of the movers stole a piece of jewelry from my desk drawer during the move. They were the only ones apart from myself that had access. Apart from that, the booking was a nightmare. I was initially booked for a move with 3 guys over 3 days. That was slowly whittled down to 2 guys over 2 days. The actual move was 11+ hours and no unpacking was done as I had initially requested.
