Terrible experience! They broke and scratched furniture, damaged walls and lost items (including a piece of an antique which cannot be replaced). They attempted to make things right but it wasn't enough to cover the cost of the damages, not to mention the antique has now lost considerable value. The office staff were pleasant to deal with but the movers were very unprofessional. I would never recommend this company!

If I could give them no star I would

Driver arrived wreaking of pot. Couldn't complete move in one day as hired, we rented Uhaul at our expense on top of paying them. Crew disappeared for an hour, showed back up to work the driver kept jokingly saying about unloading everything into our garage which he bascially did despite everything being clearly marked. They damaged my brand new home scuffing front door, gouging office door, and scratching floors and stairway nosing, as well as black scuff marks throughout the house which when washed left an oily stain. We had possession of our new build for 24 hours and they did over $1500 damage. Their claims department staff are horrible to deal with and are not there for the customer. Do yourself a favor and go with a professional mover, a real one.

And it was only a block away, Never again and I used them many times before no problems......called twice got one email back to the wrong address sent a email myself now I can't get a reply. They can't even call back their customers they have to send emails? Cowards..

Dissatisfied

Terrible experience. Went to 8th Ave. instead of 88th. Ave. Consequently an hour late starting. I moved out of a retirement home. After the truck was loaded someone called me and said they were wandering around the building checking things out. I’m being charged by the hour. I called their dispatch and told them. Upon reaching my locker where everything was to be unloaded everything was thrown into the locker. The remainder of the furniture was delivered to my apartment with further damage to some furniture. Upon closer inspection of my locker a few weeks later I noticed some smaller items were missing. I should have checked out the truck before it left. Last time I use this outfit.

Quoted a price and didn't follow through

My experience with these movers was not what I expected at all. In the beginning I phoned and told them everything I had. Which isn't much since I'm in a 1 bedroom. I stored all my boxes in my closet which I told him how many and some other items I had downstairs and bigger items I had in storage with my totes. I decided to get a professional organizer to come and purge my stuff that I no longer need a donate. She filled her fan full to capacity. So had a lot less than quoted. When the 2 boys arrived the one talked alot to my roommate. Then they took apart my headboard that I have never taken apart in 8 moves. It took him 45 mins and another to put it back together. They left my firestick and my cords to my TV behind. Which I won't ever see again. When they got to my new house they were constantly taking my boxes that were marked storage to my room lol that were supposed to go outside on the deck. So more extra time going up and down stairs. They were not what I expected. In my past of moving companies I have never had to tell them to hury up lets go and stop talking to my roommate. I was looking forward to these guys being a success. Because of my disability with not being able to do much on my own. I was sadly mistaken. They still have not solved the issue. Or taken accountability for there movers taking there time and not being more knowledgeable about moving. I hate giving bad reviews but I feel taken advantage of. And the boys also asked for a tip in the beginning of the move which made me feel bad not to give them anything, cause I'm a nice person plus I'm a single mom.

DO NOT USE

Posted on behalf of customer/family member:

Terrible moving experience. Movers were late on first day and took 8+ hours with two people. Items were to be stored for a few days and then moved to Edmonton.

Upon arrival in Edmonton, movers were again late, starting an 8+ hour job after 5pm (start time was supposed to be between 2 and 3), which took them until 2:30 a.m. By that point, to expedite things, they had to leave all boxes and items in the front rooms rather than place them in their proper location.

The two movers returned for a third day after leaving everything disassembled at 2:30 am the night before. The driver of the truck had brought his dog both days. On this second unloading/set up day in Edmonton, the driver decided to remove his dogs toenail with pliers on our front side walk, leaving the dog to bleed everywhere and rendering the driver unable to assist with set up for hours while he tended to his dog. We needed to help the other mover hold items in order to make some progress. We also had to clean blood off the sidewalk in front of the new home.

They lost an adjustable bed leg so there is now not a bed to sleep on while we hunt for a replacement part from the manufacturer. The original legs were placed in a bag, which on arrival was ripped into pieces so the leg obviously fell out somewhere on the truck. Items are missing. Significant damage to a wooden table top that had been wrapped on departure but was obviously stored and/or reloaded improperly.

This is the worst moving experience. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. You are better off renting a Uhaul rather than paying for the alleged services of this organization.

Worst move I’ve had

I’ve moved a lot and have used movers the last 3-4 moves I’ve had. This is my first time using this company and I never will again.

First I got a call 30 minutes before my appointment time requesting if they can bring a third mover. I got flustered and said yes, he said it would be $30 more. I clarified an hour and he said yes. I said I guess so since it should get the move done faster. He then texted me 15 minutes prior to their time to let me know it was actually $40 and if that’s ok. I said fine but was already not impressed by the “upsell” timeline. No one prior to this in any of my set up had mentioned 3 movers, etc.

Then once at the apartment the load they were expecting was even smaller as I had moved all boxes myself the day before. Therefore they had a 1 bedroom apartment to move and only furniture. It took them almost 4 hours to do this move. With three of them!

Oh and the fun part was they took the last load from the apartment and had left some straps so I figured they would be back up to do a quick walk through with me to confirm no damage. About 40 minutes went by and I called the contact I had for the day and he let me know at that time that they were pulling up to the new place. That hadn’t even bothered to tell me they had left! Of course I got charged for all that extra time too that It took for me to catch up to them.. hope they enjoyed their 20 minute break.

The move back in was an absolute mess. They just put stuff where ever and other than the couch ask if they could help place anything.

And then of course because we went over the three hour mark, that I don’t believe I should have been over since I had three of them, I had to pay the overtime pricing.

This move cost me more than double the last time I moved, it’s absolutely ridiculous!

I will never use this company again for any future moves. And I definitely know I will have some.

Terrible, Frustrating Experience - DO NOT USE

We hired Two Small Men to complete our cross-province move. I selected them initially because their responses were timely, information was clear, price was good, and moving time had our things out to us in just two weeks. I was really pleased.

Then, the outsourced our move to another company (which I'm told is common), but somehow that became an excuse for washing their hands of everything I had been promised, including - but not limited to - my 2 week delivery timeline.

When the new company called me, I was informed that my delivery would now take nearly a month. Two Small Men took no responsibility for this. We lived in our new house with next to NOTHING for twice the time that we expected to.

Delivery dates kept bouncing around, and ended up taking even longer than expected. When I connected with them and requested some compensation for the terrible timelines, I was offered $70. FROM MY $9,000 TOTAL BILL.

I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. They may fool you with customer service at the beginning, but please know that their follow through is atrocious, customer service as you go is nil, and the whole experience will make an already stressful time abundantly worse. Not to mention, your initial quote will likely be way off the final price.

Beyond that, after unpacking we realized that a large box of electronics and music gear was missing, along with an amp. Of course we were past the point where they would do anything, or claim any responsibility for this, so we lost hundreds of dollars worth of things with no opportunity to make a claim. Seeing that it takes time to unpack a multi-bedroom house, if you're in this situation, please unpack as quickly as you can and be really aware of everything you have. They WILL NOT CARE, so be sure to advocate for yourself early.

Never again.

Really expensive. Took almost 10 hours to finish. I was supposed to have 3 people ended up with 2 but one did not speak great english and was really new so there was alot of mistakes. it took a long time due to that reason. Also they put somethings that were clearly marked to go to the condo into storage and they also lost the apartment elevator key. They only gave me $20 an hour off the price. Will never use them again.

An honest review

The leader of the moving crew was cold, brusk and a somewhat angry person. The two young men that worked with him were hard-working and wonderful. There was some damage, some things were not put together correctly and tested before they left and they left a mattress at the other house so a walk through was not done. I played tag with someone from customer service from Alberta for three full weeks and then she stopped calling. She would not set an actual appointment time for a call. I cannot in all honesty recommend them. Customer service and accountability needs to improve drastically.

Disappointed

My daughter scheduled a move with these jokers for a timeline between 1-5 pm

They showed up several hours later and even tried to get out of doing the move.

They then asked if they could leave shoes on and walk on carpet when it was raining outside. My daughter said no because it was a rental. They then wanted her to move everything into hallway!! Umm how about you take your shoes off and move it…that’s what you are being paid for!

They proceeded to do the move. Now to the part that pees me off the most:

She had

1-two piece sectional

2 end tables

1 Tv stand

2 chairs and table for patio

1 water cooler

1 double bed frame

1 double mattress and box spring

1 small dresser

2 small little ikea cubes

1 mirror

THAT was it!! We moved her boxes and small items ourselves!!

They charged her $700 for that, a travel fee and gas fee for a 10 minute drive!!!

I am completely disgusted at the service, the price and how late they sauntered in there. We could have paid two kids $100 to move sectional and did the rest ourselves had we known the crap service we were going to receive!

DO NOT use these guys! They will rip you off!!

The worst ever

This moving company was by far the worst experience I have ever had. I hired three guys to move me thinking it would be cost effective. They moved like snails, were extremely rude to older tenants at my new place. I was overcharged. When I came home I nearly cried. They dumped so many boxes in the living room, although they were labeled. It was absolutely terrible. Do not use them.

Move Review

We would strongly recommend not using this company unless you are moving junk. We had a short move of 20 km . They arrived on time and the people were friendly. However after we reviewed the large furniture after the move almost all pieces had scratches and a large solid wood queen bed had pieces broken off.A bed worth $5000 was so damaged it could not be repaired. They had not wrapped and must have just thrown on the floor. Unfortunately we did not inspect all the furniture till they left. In fact I had even tipped the men for an efficient move. They didnot leave the bolts and when we asked for them back and the pieces they broke off they said they left behind.

The end result was over 10000 to repair or replace and we received 65 cents a pound or just over $600. They hide behind the internet and you can never talk to someone. No accountability and could care less of the damage done to your furniture. It looks like paying out a certain amount for damages is part of their business model.

Kevin and Mattie

Tuesday June 20 2023. It was a torrential rainy day. The weather was gloomy and dark..just like my mood. This move was an emotional train wreck because it was family hurting family. I am a 70 year old being forced out of my home and dreading moving my things out. But here comes 2 men with big hearts and I mean literally. Kevin and Mattie helped and supported me through the worse day of my life. Those boys worked so hard in that pouring rain while same time managed to be full of heart and respect. Everything was handled like they were moving their Gramma. Protective of my belongings from rain and any damage all day. Loading and unloading into my sister's for storage. Her place has several sets of stairs and they just kept their soaked heads down and finished the job brilliantly. Thank you for your care and attention boys. I would not have made it through that day if it wasn't for you two. When I find a home and the time has come to settle in....it's 2 Men with Big Hearts I will call. Thank you so very much.

Know what you're getting into

We went with Two Small Men because they were recommended on RBC's moving app (MoveSnap - discontinued as of August 2023). We should have done our own homework. Although they were quick to provide a quote and the movers were personable, there were several problems. 1) They charged us for a heavy item(300lbs) even though when we looked up the item's weight on the net it was only 200 pounds. We had not signed off on this charge. They did refund us the $100. 2) They broke a ceiling light in our old place and said that it fell under the "risky tasks/unique items" waiver, so would not replace it. They also broke one of the lamps they moved and scratched several items. Since they are paid by the hour they have no incentive to be efficient (we were quoted 2 movers, 1 truck and 3 hours and it took 4 movers, 2 trucks and 11 hours). Since they shift ALL liability to you for damage to your old place, new place, and the items they move, they have no incentive to be careful.

Got screwed

Called 2 weeks before my move. Asked for packing and moving. Told them I’m disabled and can handle about %95 of the packing but space and my limitations meant I couldn’t do the last %5. They cancelled the packing, they started loading the truck and only mentioned it after I asked. I was not told on either of the confirmation calls it was being cancelled nor was I even asked about it even though the owner said the form said I might need packing. Maybe confirm what’s needed in those confirmation calls? Then I was blamed by the owner for not complaining, as well as the office girl screwing up. I did my part. Arranged the service, explained my limitations and requested the help. It’s not my fault that I didn’t call to immediately complain, I was busy moving and was told it was cancelled and not that I could complain and someone would come. Called on the Monday morning, my move was Saturday morning and I was exhausted from dealing with their screwup, and asked about help moving my stuff. Nope. Just blamed me for not complaining and the office girl for not doing her job. If you have any physical limitations or need to move %100 of everything reliably that day, go elsewhere. They’ll just screw you over and blame you. I’m lucky that I owned both properties, but if I was renting I’d have been screwed trying to move all the stuff they refused to do last minute. Have used this company in different cities across the country. Never again and I will never EVER recommend this company to anyone with any kind of disability in Regina. They’ll just take advantage, blame you and make you pay full price while leaving you hanging trying to sort out your move.Get a friend with a truck. At least it’ll be reliable.

Long distance move

Kudos to the Calgary and Edmonton crews for getting me moved out on Thursday and in to my new place yesterday. Chris, Hamid and Monty from the Calgary office were efficient and checked in with me throughout the process. My driver Monty arrived as planned the next morning and with Matt’s help, got my goods safely down into my basement apartment. All crew members were helpful and cheerful, making a stressful process so much better!

I highly recommend this company. From quote to delivery- 5 Stars?

Damage Exclusion Policy Literally Excludes Everything

Despite the driver admitting fault (driving on a terrible road at high speed) I had a stand-up dresser arrive in pieces. Their policy does not cover that. In fact, their policy is so extensive that almost everything is excluded from coverage. This means that they can destroy everything you own and owe you nothing for it, and you'll still have to pay for the move. They claim it is "industry standard" but that's a scam way of saying "absolute bare minimum" and there are companies that go above and beyond to cover damage they actually do; this is not one of them.

Using this company means your entire household will be at unrecoverable risk. Consider this before using this company.

Also, how hard is it to remove the drawers and pack the dresser on its top to inhibit damage? Absolute carelessness.

Stay far far away.

Subcontracted our move to a different company.   Their truck got "lost" for 2 days and my belongings were held ransom until I paid them upfront.   When they finally arrived, they had damaged all my boxes and gotten my 46" TV wet. Artwork and furniture was damaged beyond repair.   Rather pay a bit more for better service and your own sanity!

Empty Vancouver apartment on 24th floor & move to another city.

High rise moves are brutal but the two great guys from TSMWBH were experienced and energetic and pulled it all off despite glitches. Far less stressful with them carrying the load! Loved their humour and great attitudes as much as their work ethic. I really hope never to do another Big City Move but if I do these are the guys I will call on.
