First off, they were rude (Levent is the worst!), condescending, and acted like I was a nuisance when I called to ask simple questions like, "Do you have a date for the arrival of my move". And, they misplaced my bicycle. They did not even check the manifest to make sure everything had been delivered, and I had to call them and ask them to find my bicycle. That is a testament to their bumbling incompetence.

But, my main complaint is the damaged furniture. It was in good condition when it left Ontario, and it was carried in a refrigerated truck that apparently leaked. They have not responded.

Also, I never got to see a certified copy of the weight of my move. I am just supposed to believe him and the charges (I really doubt them - I moved from the U.S. to Canada with the same items 5 years ago, and I weighed 1000 lbs less). I realize I should have asked for these details in writing, so I have no recourse. Lessons learned.

Overall, this was a terrible experience, and I very much regret using this moving company.

Our move was superbly handled by Levent and his team. Pricing was simple. Per lb rate for shipping and per lb rate for packing. No extra charges which most other moving companies build in (which are difficult to comprehend). Move was door to door and room to room. Pick-up and delivery dates were respected. The team was quick, efficient and thorough on packing and very helpful on delivery and removal of much of packing material. All goods arrived safe and sound. A minor floor scratch occurred on delivery and they looked after the repair. I would use them and strongly recommend them for any move. Thank you Levent and your Tranatlas team.

It was such a GREAT experience ! The entire relocation turned out to be something beyond my expectations !! They did all their best to ensure that I relocated peacefully without any disturbance. They have expertly packed my things, carefully loaded them in their truck and safely delivered everything. They truly have customer satisfaction at heart !

My wife and I hired Transatlas Moving to do our move from Los Angeles CA to Ottawa ON. They had quoted me $10600 Canadian for 8500 pounds I landed up paying $10984 because I had 8820 pounds . This was the only additional charge.
The crew on pickup were professional fast and very courteous same as the delivery end.
I was picked up on April 4 and delivered on April 12.
This company overall is amazing and highly recommend them . I would use them again.

We sold our house in Florida and had to move all the furniture back to Montreal. I got 5 quotes. Three of the quotes gave me the same pick up date which I felt was a little weird. I found out that the three trucking companies in Florida were using TransAtlas for the move so I called TransAtlas. Their quote was lower for the exact same service. There had been some negative reviews on the internet so I was concerned. I personally went to see Levant. I suppose it was during the meeting that I started to feel very comfortable with him so I signed a contract. Delivery went extremely well. Nothing broken and they arrived on time and delivered on time. We had taken up less space in the van and he even gave us a refund. We would highly recommend.

Approximately a year ago, we moved from Montreal to South Carolina. Bulent was very helpful and kind with all aspects of the process, from how to fill out customs forms, to even providing us with recycled boxes. We were mildly concerned with the efforts of the gentlemen who arrived to pack our furniture into their city truck - but long story short, all of our boxes and furniture arrived at our new home on schedule, undamaged, with two hired hands in 35 degree C weather, and there had been no problems at customs. Thanks, Bulent and crew! You made two very happy customers!!

I was stressed out about moving but when these guys showed up on moving day it made my day easy. While they were wrapping my furniture they were making jokes and making me laugh, I never laughed so much. I moved twice before but my other moves wasn't so pleasant. When my furniture arrived in Vancouver I was happy to see all my furniture arrived safe and sound. I would Highly recommend TransAtlas .

The company picked up our family antique furniture and collectables and brought them back to Montreal. Levent and his team were there all the way for us. The Florida team were extremely competent with a sense of humor. They arrived on time to wrap and tape up all the furniture and heirlooms securely and tagged them so nothing got lost or damaged.
When the goods arrived in the Montreal warehouse, Levent guided me though the customs procedures and two days later, the Montreal team delivered our furniture, laid out the rugs, set up the tables and all went well. Paid the bill by credit card. Price paid was per contract based on the final weight. No surprises.

Keep in mind that with international consolidated moves, you need to be flexible with the timing. There are many factors that are beyond the moving company's control. You should always have your own collectables wrapped professionally as the shipment will be transferred from the international truck to a local truck.

BE VERY CAREFUL!!

MY STUFF NEVER ARRIVED!

I hired this company to move me from toronto to atlanta. Guaranteed shipping was from the 5th of July to the 10th of July.. As stated on my contract.

I started calling on the 8th to get an update only to be blown off over and over and told wait another day and we will update you. I am in a house with nothing in it.. for weeks now waiting..

It is now the 16th.. I am getting very ambiguous answers calling everyday with no clear date of delivery and just being lied to over and over.. I keep getting blown off and given attitude. I don't know exactly where my goods are even.. I have to now pursue legal action against the company.

I am forced to hire a different moving company.. go to the warehouse where trans atlas is holding my goods and then have a new company move it.

To be very clear.. they have tens of thousands of dollars of my goods with no date of delivery offered and we are a week past the guaranteed date..

My floors were also severely damaged in the move as well..

I hired this company months prior to my move anticipating the busy season. I have moved several times both domestically and internationally. Despite repeated attempts to obtain a contract, or any documentation indicating the specifics of my move I continue to be blown off and ignored. Repeated voicemail messages with no return calls. I just connected with a representative of the company working out of the main office looking for assistance as my move is only days away. He again said I needed to wait an additional day to speak with someone else. I stressed how this is not acceptable. His response was to find a new moving company. Moving is stressful enough, do not hire this company.

I was not given a proper quote from Good Ol Boys who contracted this company to do my move.   I was then ordered to pay over 1500 more then what was expected, if I didn't pay I didn't get my furniture, I had to work out some sort of deal and at the end of everything my 1200 recliner chair was missing and promised to be delivered weeks ago and was not.    With multiple emails and calls made to the company no one is responding to me.  They damaged my 46" samsung smart TV and some of my furniture was soiled.    They make you sign a paper before unloading everything which is a forced contract basically saying that they are no longer responsible for the items and any damages that may have happened.
 
  The whole time they do not once contact you and update you about increases of weight or tell you that they weighed your shipment or even ask if you want to be present which they are supposed to do,    they have not sent me any papers or bills or dosumention about the weight or when they weighed it, this company and Good Ol Boys are nothing but swindlers and hoodlems and very unprofessional people avoid them at all costs.

On or about November 14, 2013, I arranged a shipment from Ontario to Los Angeles, CA.  Since the onset of the process, the Transatlas frachisee in Montreal has misrepresented services and demostrated rude and unprofessional behaviour.  I recommend you don't use their services unless you want to be hassled and frustrated.  A formal complaint has been made to the requisuite online forums, DOT, Calfornia Attorney General, Canadian Movers Asso, DoT, Canadian Privacy Board (they don't have a privacy policy and did not protect my credit card and personally identifiable information).   .

Service cost: $2300

My girlfriend and I used trans atlas movers and it was the worst moving experience ever. I laughed reading all the other bad reviews because it described exactly what happened to us.

Rude customer service, no communication, late pick up and delivery.

Do not use this company. The good reviews are the exception, not the rule.

We booked the movers months in advance through a 3rd party. But without communicating with us, they cancelled our truck. We were forced to put our stuff in storage at the last minute at great cost to us.

When it came to dropping our stuff off, they kept telling us one day, and then missing their own deadlines. This happened several times. They never once called us.

This company is very unprofessional. It is hard to see how they are still in business. Any quote they give you, no matter how low, will not make up for how difficult it is to deal with this company.

Stay away.

I was scheduling a move from Montreal to Toronto in August, 2016. I was given a reference from my realtor friend and that is how I made contact with Levent at Transatlas Moving.

I had the most excellent experience with them and would with our reservation recommend Levent and his team to anyone. To begin with we were wrapping up our house in Montreal and relocating to China for a year. We were moving our stuff into storage in Toronto. There was a lot of logistic synchronisation that was to happen.

Levent's team arrived on moving day on time and arranged to move our furniture from a 1st floor walk-up without a hiccup. They were polite and loaded the truck and left in a few hours. The load was estimated and we signed a contract for delivery to a U-haul location that Sunday.

On Sunday I was at the U-haul location where I store my stuff and the movers arrived on time with my shipment and proceeded to unload it. Now this is where the thing about going the extra-mile for your customer comes in. The unit in which I had stored my stuff was loaded in a haphazard manner by a moving company I had used previously. And the stuff I was bringing from Montreal would not have fitted in as it stands.

I had the choice to rent another storage locker for an extra $150 a month. Which over a 12 month period would have added $1800 to my storage budget. These guys suggested they unload my locker and arrange the stuff in it properly before moving in my new stuff that had arrived from Montreal. They called Levent and he said help these guys out. So for $50 an hour and in 3 hours they had re-organized my storage locker and unloaded my stuff from the truck from Montreal.

A $150 investment and some sweat saved me a whole deal of money and heartache.

I cannot thank Levent and his team enough for the excellent work they did.

I went with these guys because their estimate was the cheapest - which should have been a red flag. The pick up of my items went perfectly. The delivery, however, was late and incomplete.
PLEASE I beg of you, if you DO go with this company (I highly advise against it), do NOT give in to the deliverer's demands to sign the delivery bill before he starts unloading the items. I did in good faith - but 3 boxes were missing. Ensues a 2 1/2 month saga of misinformation, contradictory information and finally ignoring all attempts at contacting them. They finally responded when I went via the Better Business Bureau. Initially denied everything and insisted the order was complete. They then somehow found the boxes. Set a delivery date. Delivered two boxes, and refused to acknowledge the third box missing. I've given up. I don't think I will ever see that third box. (not to mention that several items in the two missing boxes were smashed to pieces).

So, if your priority is to get most of your stuff delivered in passable condition, and you don't particularly care when things are delivered, if part of your shipment never shows up (everything will be denied) and part of it is damaged beyond repair.. then this is the perfect company for you! They're cheap, and you (almost) get what you pay for.. but a little less!

Our recent move from Ontario to Nova Scotia was truly our worst move ever! Since we have moved 27 times - including a few overseas moves - I would say we are experienced! The scam the moving companies have going the instant your driveway isn't short and straight, is just ridiculous. We moved into our house in Ontario in 2010 and had a double moving van backing into our long, but straight driveway. Not possible according to TransAtlas, we need shuttles. The problem here is that you can watch them load the shuttles, but you cannot watch them unload from the shuttles to the moving van. So first they charge you an extra $2,000. for the shuttles and then when you get to the other end, and you watch them unload, you realize that the word 'fragile' does not mean a thing to them and your furniture means even less. Boxes, many marked fragile were upside down and thrown around, resulting in many of our fragile items were broken. Our solid oak dining room table had large scratches and gouges, our teak bedroom set large scratches and gouges. A massive unwillingness to help at the unloading end, made this whole experience even more stressful. This would truly be the very last company I would ever recommend. Besides the fact that from the original quote of $4,500. the whole moved cost us $11,500. Just disgusting. Neither the broker who set this move up, nor the company is responding to any e-mails. Terrible, terrible service all around.

When I moved across the country in Oct 2017, Transatlas was highly recommended by my friends who hired them 7 years ago. I'm thrilled say their reputation still stands as trustworthy and reliable. They also quoted the lowest price, and the actual cost came in under. I recently hired them again. Both moves were fast and flawless thanks to their 3 energetic and courteous movers/driver. They were careful with wrapping and transporting my furniture and valuables, packing the odds and ends into the wardrobes. I was refunded the full cost of the one item that was missing, without hassle. I received excellent customer service at the time of booking and throughout the stages of the move. I truly felt cared for!

Based on my previous moving experiences, I had some assumptions about this company because I had never tried them before. However, I would like to highlight essential points about them for any potential client.

1- WEIGHT ESTIMATION: This point is ultimately important as price generally depends on weight. Therefore, the crew estimated the total weight slightly lower than my estimation as I got rid of unnecessary stuff at a garage sale.

2-PACKAGING: Even though I did not have many knick-knacks and packed the rest of them, these guys wrapped them properly then put in a better box with a reasonable price.

3-DELIVERY: This is the fun part because I was able to receive my shipment on the right day with two hours delay as it was promised. Nevertheless, all team members were fast, ginger and collaborative enough to move all these heavy boxes in order to finish their task at the right time.

I wish the best for you guys and I hope I tipped you enough since I wanted to make a good start in Alberta!
