Long-distance move from Baltimore, MD to Fairfax, VA

Friendly Movers.

Not only did my movers prove to be friendly and helpful, but they were also knowledgeable and productive throughout each phase of the move. Pickup, transport, and drop off. Each phase went well and there was ample communication to keep me informed of their progress. When a company doesn’t communicate, I become very fearful at what the outcome is going to be. This company was able to communicate and perform quality moving services simultaneously, which makes them a formidable choice for your next move. Highly recommend.

Long-distance move from Connecticut to Georgia

Good choice.

Our first move ever and it was easy with this company! We were getting a lot of different quotes from different moving companies. We decided to go with Traditional because they appeared to be the most organized. Sales people were great. We had a feeling that we were moving with a family not just a moving company.       The foreman arrived with his crew within the window time frame they gave me, since I had to reserve the elevator per my building request. They took care of my insurance for the building in advance so there was no issue with my building. Once they got to my apartment, they started to disassemble all my furniture including my bed & my bookcase, wrapping them. All fragile items were packed such as tv's & glass top tables. You worry how the move is going to be, but after they arrived and started to  work you can see you are dealing with a top moving company. They did not take breaks & every item that needed special attention was packed in a special way for a very low additional charge.      As for the delivery they arrived on a different day (they had to reschedule it) at the agreed time and quickly assembled everything. They delivered everything in perfect condition, did not lose a single box. I would advise to label your boxes yourself in addition to their labeling as we got someone's box but our labels helped us understand that it was not ours, and they were able to identify the owner of the other box & reassured me they would even pick it up a week later for shipment to the original owner. That is a responsible moving company as far as I am concerned. Thanks guys!! You were great!

Long-distance move from New Jersey to Texas

Could be lot better.

FYI, Boost Express and Traditional Express Van Lines are essentially the same movers, they just have different websites and different DOT #s.For my move from NJ to TX, I had a not so good estimator who did the visual inspection and estimated for 1500 cu.ft, however when the actual movers came, it ended up being 2000 cu ft. And even though it was a binding estimate, I had to reluctantly pay the difference because the volume was around 500 cu ft more. The packing experience could have been much better, because they got some "trainees" as well to do the packing along with an experienced foreman; maybe they can think about staffing a bit better. Now the communication is definitely something they really need to work and improve; people skills are lacking. Considering that they are interstate movers, the dispatcher and the mover should talk better with customers and provide REAL and timely status updates and not just come up with excuses and arbitrary delivery dates. It really should not be that hard to talk to your trucker and find out exactly where your goods are and when they expect to deliver. I made sure to document everything and let the movers know through various means about the delay, over-payment and delivery issues I had. I was disappointed with how things were progressing, so I wanted to make sure they took my feedback and try to improve their service. The good part is that the VP called me up personally to apologize for all the troubles and gave me a small compensation to help. Although this did not meet the "binding estimate" to my satisfaction, in the end there was something the company did as a goodwill gesture and that was appreciated.  All in all, make sure you get  a good estimator from the movers to do the visual inspection and inventory, write down in detail. Keep in touch constantly to find out about the delivery to make things less stressful for you. You can decide for yourself. .

Long-distance move from Virginia to South Carolina

Professionals!!

Friend of mine recommended this company. He moved together with his family and there were no problems at all.

Fortunately the stuff remained in good condition and the move was smooth in general. And I'm saying not just about my move actually but about my booking process as well. I spoke to Natalie the sales person. She was great!!

Even after 3 months of keeping my staff in storage nothing was missing. And literally in a few days it was delivered to my house after I requested it. Perfect! I will recommend Traditional Express Van lines.

Traditional Express Van Lines - Good service.

We are extremely pleased with the services that Traditional Express Van Lines performed to us during our Move Virginia Beach. They worked hard to make it happen. Despite of a last minute move. Sales department was very accommodating. Sales person manages to put me in to their busy schedule. I was shocked how fast they found the spot for me. What I liked the most is how friendly and positive all the crew was. They made that terrible day a lot more pleasant.. That's it SORRY I could be writing a lot more but have to run. You know busy, unpacking my boxes lol HAVE nothing bad to say about them. Good service in general.

Long-distance move from New York to Texas

Stay away like the plaque.

I would give it no stars if it was permitted it. Bait and switch. I got low balled on a price of $2500 after giving a detailed list of every item I wanted moved. After loading items they demanded an additional $1200 fifty percent of the contract price. I refused and they wouldn't move all of my items . Now I have to hire another mover to get the job done

They arrived 3 hours late to the destination out of state and unloaded the truck in the dark arriving at 8PM . I had to assist moving items. They damaged items. Some items were missing parts. They even delivered items belonging to someone else
When I requested claim forms for the damage I got ignored.

HORRIBLE Customer Service.

These guys are cheap, but that is the ONLY positive about working with them. Their customer service and professionalism is completely unacceptable.

The initial quote I got was $3.40 per cf. When I called back to discuss further, they had me send them an inventory list of the items I would need moved so they could "get a more accurate estimate". After I sent the inventory list, they claimed that because they estimated less cf than the original quote, they were increasing my rate. Why should it matter how much/little cf I have? Anyways.. I didn't argue because it was still a decent price. However when they came to move me they actual cf was almost double their estimate. In my inventory list I literally measured the exact dimensions of every item I owned. Essentially they just quoted me a low number of cf to make my overall price look cheap, but then jacked it up for the actual move.

Then getting my stuff to Florida has been a whole additional train wreck. The Russian guy who is moving it is SO rude every time I talk to him. I asked him to deliver my stuff on a Thursday and he said no problem. So I took off of work and arranged my schedule accordingly. Then all of a sudden he calls me the day before to say he doesn't know when he will be here, maybe Friday or Saturday or Sunday. When I asked why I was initially told Thursday, he snapped back at me saying he can never guarantee anything and I should know better. How would I know better if you told me something different initially!?

Essentially once they do the initial pick-up they have already gotten half of your money and your business so they don't care about providing any sort of customer service to you from that point on. If you can deal with the a**holes who work here, then good luck. But I will never work with them again.

Long-distance move from Maryland to Texas

Unprofessional service, hidden charges, 2 weeks delay and theft.

DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY! It was a terrible, frustrating experience. I just filed official complaint forms to Department of Transportation, the Better Business Bureau, FMCSA as no one in this company responded to my email, phone calls, and complaint letter for the delay, damage, and poor customer service. I also had to call the POLICE as the movers ran off with my property when I refused to pay hidden extra charge in cash at the delivery location when they were already delayed for 2 weeks. The tricky part was that they made me sign some dubious company-specific paper after they loaded my stuff, which caused a lot of problems in the end. Basically, it indicated that there might be additional charges and the delivery date would not be approximate. As I already signed Bill of Lading, which is more the official form that every registered moving company uses with exact costs, and delivery date, I did not pay too much attention to this form. Also, as they brought up this paper after they loaded my stuff at the truck, I could not back out at that point but just sign. I asked the copy of this dubious form but they refused to give it to me and this form basically caused a lot of problems.

Pick-up day: 5 hours late, no packing of furniture which I paid extra for packing, and making me sign some dubious form which cause problem in the end

The moving date was set for Jun 28th, 2016. I was expecting the movers at 8 a.m. but they came 5 hours late without a warning. The mover demanded extra charge for long carry and the use of elevator, which I refused to pay as it was already included in the contract. Then, his attitude changed very hostile throughout the whole loading process. He even refused to wrap my bulky furniture with blankets, which is the violation of the contract. He kept saying he did not have time for that but it was not my fault that they were 5 hours late. In the end, these unwrapped items were delivered in severely damaged condition. Additionally I paid extra for the packing of my mattress spring, but it turned out that the movers did not pack it with covers at all and it arrived with severely damaged condition.

In transit : no notice for 2-weeks delay until the arrival day
The delivery was scheduled for July 9th, but I did not receive any notice until I called the company that morning. The sales representative Greg, who I made contract with, told me that he only does 'sales' and I need to contact Dispatch department in which 'LEWIS' was in charge of. Although I called LEWIS, he had no idea where the truck is and when would be the next approximate delivery date. Every time I called the company, they made me call other people, who had no idea about when the truck would arrive in my location, and no one attempted to be responsible for the delay.

Delivery day: police involved
On the delivery day, the movers, Eugene and the team, arrived in my apartment demanded extra charge in cash for renting a Uhaul, and extra labor for loading and unloading Uhaul. I refused to pay as they did not notify me about the final charges prior to delivery or while in transit and the extra charge was more than 110% of the initial contract paper, which is ILLEGAL by law. Then, the movers ran off with my property saying that they will leave my property at storage at my expense and leave for California. Then, they did not pick up my call so I called Police for Burglary and Theft. (Case #, 0925204-xx). LEWIS, the representative at the Dispatch department yelled and threatened me over the phone saying that I will have to pay for the mover's waiting time and the storage, or I pay the extra now in order to get my shipment that day. I finally called the mover, Eugene and agreed to pay the extra of $340 as I was afraid that they would leave for California and I have to wait another few weeks. When I paid the extra charges, they made me sign the form saying ' I would never dispute this charge', which is also ILLEGAL.

This company is completely UNTRUSTWORTHY and IRRESPONSIBLE. No one would respond to any of the problems and will make you pay $$ in the end.

Long-distance move from New York, NY to Somerville, MA

Worst company ever.

This was the worst company I have ever dealt with in any spectrum of my life. Their communication was abysmal at best-they were 4 hours late when picking up my things to put them in storage. When they did arrive they were fine on the front end-don't let this fool you though! They had misquoted my move and it ended up costing more than $800 extra than expected. After 2 months of storage, I arranged for my things to be delivered to my (empty) new apartment. I called to confirm on July 28th that they would arrive on July 31 and received confirmation. I called again July 30th to see what time they would be coming and no one answered. Finally, they emailed me back at 8 PM to say that my things would not be delivered until wednesday August 2, giving me 12 hours notice. I was then homeless in boston for 2 nights as my apartment had no furniture or bedding. They ensured they would try to refund two nights of hotel stays. They then pushed back my move 4 hours on august 2 to 7:00. I called the dispatcher 3 times with no answer, so finally I called the customer service employee back who told me they would not be coming until August 3. This was obviously getting ridiculous so they eventually conceded to come at 9 PM (actually not showing up until 10 PM). The next day they told me they owed me nothing and refused to compensate me for the two nights in a hotel, which is obviously absurd because their failure to communicate left me stranded in a foreign city with nowhere to stay. They refused to let me speak to management on the phone, and I was put on hold continuously and was hung up on twice. My mom and I had to take 3 days off of work in addition while we waited around in Boston, which is a huge financial and logistical burden. . 0/10 would NOT recommend ever getting into business with these people, unless you want a headache and to spend over 1300 more dollars than intended! Zero professionalism, zero communication between the different employees, totally fake customer service, and zero helpfulness.
