Don't trust your items to these guys...

At first, Terra Relocations seems like a company that truly cares about your business. They treat you like a king and they answer your questions to the best of their ability, comforting your each and every concern.

Don't be fooled. This company cares nothing for you or your belongings. They only care about getting your payment as soon as possible.

My belongings arrived 7 months later, significantly moldy, with many things having to be thrown away. They sat in a warehouse (somehow soaking wet) for 6 months before they were shipped, and every call or message to them simply received the same response, "We will let you know when it ships." This was way past the time that they claimed that my belongings would arrive.

When they arrived, the delivery people showed up at 10:00 p.m. and didn't finish until well until midnight. The delivery people had an altercation with the neighbors at our building, property damage to the parking lot and the delivery truck ensued. I was forced to call the police. One of my items was missing.

I chose to get the enhanced insurance offered by Terra Relocations. In order to qualify for this insurance, I had to pay extra for their own shipping company to rifle through all of my boxes, confirm that they were packed properly, eliminate any prohibited objects, and have them repack my boxes to their specifications. They repacked everything I had in their original prepacked boxes, and then added their own cardboard, bubble wrap, and plastic around everything. It was no longer possible to even see what was inside each box until all of this would eventually be removed at the destination. I was not there for this process, as I was already in my destination location.

When my things arrived, each item was labeled with a number. I confirmed that all numbered packages had been dropped off. Despite this, one of my items did not arrive. I have photos of it before it was shipped, and it was not in the delivery.

Due to the fact that the delivery people were dealing with filing a police report, they did not put my furniture back together, they did not clean up after themselves, or take any of the plastic or bubble wrap with them.

It took me 2 days to unpack all the plastic and bubble wrap and get rid of it and take an assessment of what I had. That's when I discovered all of the mold and damage, and the missing item.

The delivery people told me I had 2 weeks to file a claim. I filed a claim, and the insurance declined to pay for the missing item because they stated that I had accepted that everything had arrived. All of the numbered boxes had arrived, but alas, the item inside one of the boxes was mislabeled and the item was not inside.

After appealing the insurance company twice, I decided to go to the main company, and ask them for a goodwill refund for the amount of the missing item, $500, and the inconvenience of all of the other issues. Jose, the guy I talked to on the phone, argued with me for 10 minutes, tried to twist my words several times, or find a way to trap me into saying something that was a contradiction. And after I boiled it down to simply wanting a discount from the the nearly $8,000 that was paid for a botched delivery, he told me there was no way he was paying me a dime. He was quite firm.

Maybe he didn't like the way I was talking to him. Maybe it was something else. But any customer goodwill was out the window.

Please find another company to move your belongings. These guys aren't it.
