Long-distance move from Fair Oaks, CA to Waxahachie, TX

Damaged or Destroyed

We entered into contract with Spartan Van Lines to move our belongings from California to Texas. We had their representative Kelly Costa, come out to our home to do an inventory and give us a quote.

Amazing customer service and prompt replies to text,

emails and phone calls.

The contract was straight forward: the cost included 4 mattresses boxed, 1 mirror boxed, 1 cardboard large crate for the piano and a grandfather clock.

They did not box 1 of the mattresses and didn't make it on the truck. We had to replace it when we arrived in Texas.

WE wrapped the grandfather ourselves but they never boxed it. BTW - it was one of the few items that arrived undamaged.

Once the company had our things all communication stopped. I would reach out and get no response. When I did receive a text or phone call it was misleading information, placating clichés, or condescending attitudes.

Upon delivery most of our furniture was damaged or

destroyed. Most of what we had were lovely pieces from my grandmother and great grandmother.

We have reached out numerous times via text, phone calls and emails. We have received one return call at the beginning and one email asking us to send photos.

We have sent multiple emails with photos and descriptions and we have had no response from the company. We have sent text and voice messages to Kelly, our contact, no response. I have called Erika, in customer service, no response.

Find another company if you value your belongings.

Long-distance move from North Carolina to Florida

Worst move ever.

Don't even want to give them one star.

Worst move ever..and I've moved 25 times in my adult life. Never on time. Showed up a day late at night to move me in. Damaged several pieces of art and furniture. Rugs that were cleaned and wrapped for moving were unwrapped and tossed in the house.

Spent hours on phone and online trying to resolve the losses which totaled hundred of dollars. Was offered an insulting $75.

Driver screamed at me after he realized I was filming him in the middle of admitting the damage to my $5000 armoire. Unbelievable level of stress and chaos. Took off before I had a chance to see if there was anything left in the truck. Noted on the bill of lading that I refused to sign, when he didn't offer the invoice for my signature.

Original quote was $1200. Final bill: $5000.

Long-distance move from Atlanta, GA to Asheville, NC

Carefully service.

They are just very awesome!!

This is seriously an amazing company. We had them pack up our house, store all of our belongings for two years and then deliver when we moved into our new house. All of our belongings were carefully wrapped and stored without any damage or lost items, which is pretty unbelievable if I compare them to every loving experience I have had before. They are organized and know how to properly wrap and pack. Plus the movers were so friendly, communicate well, and go over and above to make sure you are happy customers. I can't say enough good things about them. Thanks, Spartan Van Lines.

Long-distance move from Jersey City, NJ to Fort Wayne, IN

Never Again!

Chose them for the reasonable pricing and decent reviews but I was wrong. All moves are subcontracted, though the subcontractors weren't too bad apart from being disrespectful to my elderly relatives and refusing to cooperate on inconveniences, they did a good job in executing the move itself. Susan from customer service only takes your call when money is involved. The company itself is poorly run with a salesman who wont bother even connecting you with the subsequent point of contact once the sale is made, a pathetic customer service who has substituted her existence with a voicemail and company policy which is inconvenient and framed to make as much money off of you as possible. Decent if you can keep communication close to negligible to the firm itself.

Terrible Experience with Spartan Van lines/Moving Systems Inc.

I want to register this complaint against Spartan Van lines/Moving Systems Inc. based out in Pennsylvania depicting my dissatisfaction/frustration and my losses. Here is the whole summary/reason of my dissatisfaction and losses as a result of dealing with Spartan Van lines.

· I was charged almost $700 extra than what Spartan Van lines confirmed at the time of inception. The reasoning they provided was the space issues at the time of loading, the driver who was responsible for load our stuff was really rude and putting the things in a truck in a way to increase the space limit as much he can. When I asked him can I measure the space by myself since I was not comfortable with the way he was measuring then he didn't let us to measure the space. And, we were left with no option to pay them almost $700 extra at the time of loading.

· I received my stuff almost after 3 weeks of its loading date which was beyond the regular timelines I was told at the time of inception. At the time of inception I was told that maximum it will take one week to receive my stuff. We had to suffer a lot just because of this late delivery. But still we didn’t receive any compensation for that.

· Following items were broken and I submitted all the relevant info including their pictures(attached) at the time of claim filing:
1. Foot board of my bed is broken into 2 pieces which made our bed useless.
2. One Samsonite big Suitcase was broken completely.
3. Handle of my Rocker/glider is broken which made it useless as well.

· Following items were found missing:
1. Dresser Glass Top.
2. One Kitchen Box

And at last it’s a matter of big shame that this company Spartan Van lines were trying to compensate all this frustration, dissatisfaction, broken & lost items merely with $68. And when I refused it they raised it up to $120 which I refused again since it was much less than my damages and losses. Company like Spartan Van lines/Moving Systems Inc. is the worst company in terms of its services and all the things I have come across so far. They should be banned from doing this business so that no one can fall in their trap.

Long-distance move from Rotonda West, FL to Oran, MO

There are good cross country moving companies out there, THIS COMPANY.

Don't use this company if you value your property and your right to expect usual and careful handling of your items. This company falls FAR SHORT of set industry standards. I am heart wrenched by the significant damages to antique furniture and expensive household items. The damages are mind bogeling. I also have items missing. I reached out to Spartan Van Lines immediately. They will not return my calls. BEWARE, BEWARE.. CHOOSE ANOTHER COMPANY ! ZERO STARS.

Best Moving Service.

This review is long overdue. These guys are awesome! They moved my 4 bedroom apartment impeccably. They were extremely careful when wrapping all my furniture and they were careful not to marks any of the walls. The best part, nothing was broken they unloaded all my belongings. Did I mention that my apartment was on the 3rd floor? Yes! It Was! But I never heard anyone complain. They had a great attitude the whole time!

Long-distance move from Raleigh, NC to Grapevine, TX

Costing Spartan Van Lines, Pennsylvania. Check phone numbers.

Started with a call from Adam Gates to gave me a quote of 1600 for our move from Raleigh NC to Dallas, Tx. Everything was in a storage unit. Mostly furniture and the rest was in boxes. Easy move!! I have moved over 40 times in my life with my husband's job, both locally and internationally. Never saw such a terrible company. They just kept adding money. Should have told them to take it all off the truck after they had it loaded and wanted money then and there. Had gone up to a total of 4587.00. Crazy right. They require a small part of this in cash at pick up and then had the nerve to charge me to walk it all to our apartment which was about 20 feet from truck to elevator then 30 feet after reaching floor. It only took them 2 hours to unload and that was done fine by a local contractor. We started at a quote of 532 sq. ft. and ended at 1100. Totally crazy. As I had recently moved the same contents at a much lower price. Don't be fooled by the original quote from this or any company. Have it all in writing with a quote that can't be changed. We have always moved with a company and have used the larger companies and they are all confirmed in price and dates when you sign the contract. Oh, it also took them 29 days to deliver just under the maximum of 30 days they had guaranteed. There are other Spartans that get good reviews. Don't be fooled.

Long-distance move from San Jose, CA to Portland, OR

Damaged items.

Spartan moved us from San Jose to Portland. Upon delivery it was found that our grandfather clock had been damaged in route. Pictures were taken and a report made. Also, a daybed, which had been dismantled for the move, could not be reassembled because the screws were lost. Pictures and a report was made for that as well. A few days after delivery, a supervisor from Spartan called and said that new screws had been ordered. She said she knew nothing about the clock damage even though photos were a report made. She asked to submit photographs. I said that photos were already taken. She told me that unless I submitted photos, it will take a lot longer to get the clock fixed. I refused. It has been almost a month since that conversation and I have not received the screws for the bed and the clock is still not fixed.

Long-distance move from Florida to Missouri

Don't take them.

The worst company ever. They are layers. In the beginning, they were very nice, the day of moving they will tell you that your stuff is more than the space you are paying for in the truck. We gave them the measurements of everything to make sure we have the correct space and they send us a bell of 1600$ which we paid 100$ in advance as a deposit. when it was the day of moving the truck driver told us that he is just a driver and had nothing to do with the company and that he cannot take all of our stuff because there is no space unless we pay 3200$. They know that people usually have no choice and they most probably will pay. But we did not. We kept half of our stuff for a friend to sell them for us and we paid them the same amount we agreed with them at the beginning. They are layers. The owner shouted on us when we called him the same day and he said, This is my price. Do you want us to move your stuff or not? He shouted, "YES OR NO".
The worst experience we ever had.
