Long-distance move from Marietta, GA to Mobile, AL

Relocation

I had an excellent experience with Pierre, Craig, and Levi from Southeast Van Lines! They were incredibly professional, efficient, and friendly from start to finish. They arrived on time, handled all of my belongings with care, and made the entire moving process smooth and stress-free. Their positive attitude and helpfulness made a potentially chaotic day much easier to handle. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and hardworking team to assist with their move!

Long-distance move from Littleton, CO to Atlanta, GA

Good service

I had to contact some other transmission shop transported to Atlanta to my new location. This moving company with professional and they strapped everything down to pallets before they loaded the truck. They covered everything well and when everything showed up at my new location it showed up in form. I have no complaints just I'm very thankful that everything went as well as it did. I truly appreciate it.

Long-distance move from Atlanta, GA to Troy, MI

Negligence, Misrepresentation, Dubious Reviews.

Before you use Southeast Van Lines of Atlanta, Georgia please perform your due diligence on this business!

I am a business executive that has been professionally moved six times in the past eight years and over twenty times in the past forty years. I have used most of the major brand interstate movers. Recently, I contracted with Southeast to move my household goods from Atlanta, Georgia, to Michigan.

I dealt with Benjamin David, President of Southeast Van Lines, Atlanta, Georgia.

David promised “high-end” service with his “highly trained” staff. David sold me a $7,000 pack-and-move including an optional $795 full-value insurance package that covered $50,000 of goods with a $500 deductible.

Upon delivery most of the furniture was damaged. Computers were tossed into boxes without any wrapping or protection. They were crushed in their boxes.

Clothes with their hangars were stuffed and stacked into wardrobe boxes without being hung. Personal vanity articles were missing or stolen.

When the packers were in other rooms loading boxes and out of line-of-sight, the crew was just dumping our belongings into boxes without any wrapping whatsoever. Upon arrival virtually every box had damaged items and nearly every piece of furniture was damaged.

Good thing I purchased the optional full replacement value insurance, right? Wrong. Southeast refused to honor the additional insurance I purchased.

Southeast used subterfuge, chicanery and sleight-of-hand contract tricks to induce me into purchasing “full replacement value” insurance that is worthless while waging a war of attrition against me after making a claim against Southeast.

This company has far too many complaints (see below) and many of them cite Southeast business practices as unethical, fraudulent. deliberately misrepresentative, and more.

Would recommend

I recently engaged their services for my relocation, and I found them to be outstanding. Upon arrival at my residence, the team exhibited a high level of professionalism. They meticulously packed all of my valuable items to ensure their safety during the move. The unpacking process was effortless, thanks to their thorough labeling of each box. The movers arrived on time and efficiently completed the task at hand. I highly recommend their services to anyone in search of a professional moving company.

Excellent customer service

I had a great experience with Southeast Van Lines. To ensure an accurate estimate, send someone out to look at your stuff before providing a quote. The move itself was one of the best experiences I’ve had. The crew was friendly and helpful. They helped me with my TV mount and other things not included in the move while ensuring I stayed within my budget. I highly recommend this company.

Awesome movers, moved my auto shop equipment!

I hired this company to move the contents of my shop and most of it was automobile parts. They gave me a good price and everything went well. I was especially pleased with how quickly the guys were able to get the Transmissions loaded on the dollies and into the truck. They really were a professional and good crew of men. My hats off to you.

Local move from Roswell, GA to Dacula, GA

Local Move Fromm H-ll.

I chose this company for a local move for a local move from Roswell to Dacula 2 1/2 year’s ago. I am finally calm enough to write a review. Worst move I ever made, and I have made several local and interstate moves. I was moving the contents 5,000 sq ft home and found this company listed as #2 on Angie’s List (#1 was unavailable.) Due t the volume of contents to be moved a had an on site estimate done and Mr. Bengamine David came t my hours e and was shown everything. I also requested a whole house packing service. I was to,d that the move would take 3 days: 1 to pack, 1 to move out and 1 to move in. I was promised 6 men. Day One: 5 men arrived, one who was a new hire working with supervision as on the job training. They ran out of packing paper and markers (helped themselves to my silver gel pens found in my desk.) I surprised two of the workers when I walked into my bedroom and found them going through the contents of my nightstand (and no they were not packing-they were supposed to be wrapping furniture.) They did not finish packing that day and had to complete the morning of the move which meant the day ran into the wee hours. Instead of one large truck there were two smaller trucks supplied which would have been okay except they ran out of space and I had to transport items in two vehicles. I was told that a large 15 year old houseplant would be transported inside the truck (I specifically asked) and then on moving day was told there was no room. Mr. David put it in the back of his pick up truck and transported it up 85N (it did not survive.). Move in day went as planned although the movers had to wait for me to arrive at the new house because I had to finish the vacuuming that I wasn’t able to do the evening before due to the late hour. When I unpacked I found several broken items which Mr. David informed me would not be the responsibility of the company even though his men packed them. I also found items packed inappropriately such as a toilet brush in with. Lean linens and heavy decorator objects packed with lamp shades. Now I am not a professional packer but I have packed myself I. The past. In preparation I watched a video from U-haul and know that is NOT how it is done. It is 2 1/2 years later and I am STILL trying to find items. I suspect some never made it informed you catch my drift. This fiasco cost me $3K. Bottom line: DO NOT use this company for a major move, especially if packing is involved. There were only two men who knew what they were doing and the other two with experience should have only been wrapping furniture. The fifth guy was slow because he was inexperienced. Wrapping paper ran short which I believe was due to inappropriate use (which I discovered when I unwrapped items.) The ONLY positives I can say are that the moving men were polite and hard working. The foreman was very knowledgeable but since the team was short staffed he could not supervise adequately-he was packing the most valuable items( thankfully.). The things that were broken had been packed by the furniture wrappers when time got short. In their favor no furniture was damaged. I blame the problems on Mr. David who underestimated the magnitude of this move and was very rude on moving day. If you must use this company, do your own packing and make sure you get an onsite quote, not over the phone. I would hate to think of what it would have been if he hadn’t actually seen the contents to be moved.

Long-distance move from Georgia to California

No call, no show after three days.

I located this company online and only used them based on the reviews that I had read. They were on time with the pickup and were very professional with organizing my belongings to be shipped out. Apparently, they store the items, and then another company picks up for delivery to the final destination. The company that delivered the items, called and said he would deliver on a Friday. We waited all day and never received a call. We called on Friday evening, and the driver said he would not make it but would be there Saturday morning between 7AM-10AM. (Another wait) At 11:00 on Saturday, we called the driver and he said he would try to make it by 5:00 PM Saturday evening. (Again no -show) We called a final time and the drive never once apologized, said he would be here Sunday, and another day was wasted as he did not show or bother to call. (Jump to Monday morning ) We tried calling the driver again Monday morning, and the driver did not answer. I placed a call to the local number in Georgia to express my concern over the lack of common courtesy, I was told that someone would contact me within ten minutes. About 15 minutes later, the driver calls me to tell me he'll be delivering in the next 30 minutes? What if I hadn't called the office? When the driver arrived, at no time did he apologize for not calling or making us wait for the three days he stood us up! His only comment was, "I will have to count the number of feet from the truck to your front door and I can't unload until full payment is received ". BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever received!  The two helpers that were with him said they were just picked up by the driver about 30 minutes prior from a temp service? Lesson learned and my child's bike ( which the company packed themselves was broken ). Thanks Again.

Don't Believe The Positive Reviews!

I regret ever doing business with Southeast Van Lines. I received my belongings a month late, and damaged from a fire. They have been of absolutely no help through the process, and do not provide an acceptable level of insurance for your belongings nor inform you of your other options. They contracted my move out to an inexperienced, and unprofessional older gentleman to move my things from GA to CA, with him consistently lying to me about when they would arrive and the shape they were in. When he finally got here, he recruited another middle-aged man who lived in my neighborhood (!) to help unload as he had no legitimate crew of his own to help. Now Southeast Van Lines is denying any responsibility, and forcing me to go through this other man's insurance despite the fact that THEY were the one's who hired him!DO NOT USE SOUTHEAST VAN LINES FOR YOUR MOVE! This process has been an ongoing nightmare and I regret ever doing business with them. It's been 7 MONTHS and I am still trying to reach a settlement with this guy's insurance.

Long-distance move from Georgia to Ohio

Many moves and this was horrible.

Don't use this company. We have moved many times and used very good movers. This move was a disaster. We had many broken items because my China hutch items were simply thrown in a box. Items broken that can't be replaced. We had items which did not belong to us. We were also missing items. The movers were 2.5 hours late to the destination and hurried to move things in while not asking and placing items where they did not belong. Some of the guys were rude. We filed a claim for damages and replacement for thousands of dollars worth of items only to receive a check for less than $150.00. Complete and total nightmare.
