Long-distance move from North Carolina to California

Worst Moving Company Ever.

After my complain about Social Moving group because they broke my furniture, pictures and mirror.. smashed all my boxes and their  customer service was terrible They contacted me today with the next mail:We are sorry to hear that Mrs. Virginia was not pleased with the service she received, even though the cost of transport had not changed. In addition to that, the client received five boxes free of charge. According to the policy of the company we do not insure pressed wood products. If Mrs. Virginia will contact the relevant parties with all factors this will be handled in a timely manner. Thanks in advance, Customer Service So, because they provided me with 5 boxes that they smashed do they have right to break my items?? I contacted all the relevant parties starting with the driver who told me what to do, then the next day I called BEN "Manager and dispatcher" and 2 days later I filled my claim with the claim company..they never called me back I had to call every week for 3 MONTHS..  horrible CUSTOMER SERVICE but what can you expect with that kind of Manager.

Long-distance move from Georgia to New York

Customer service is below zero.

I was interviewed several times and I got the quote for my pick up but when the driver gets to my place was giving me bizarre price. I ended it up taking my stuff to storage and a few days later somebody else from that company contacted me that she was precisted that she can help me and she wants to help and helps me to save money .. So I ended it up trusting them one more time. Let me say it this way after repeating everything twice with this company the result was the same .. Driver wanted to charge me more and the dispatcher by name of Ben was beyond rude.. He was arguing with me and end up putting my stuff back into the storage because of his behavior and not wanting to help me. Funny part was he told me to go with uhaul which it was my original plan.
I'm strongly not recommending this company to anyone.
To me they are scam. Money hunger.. Not thinking about anyone's situations ..
The worst experience I ever had. Poor customer service .. The employees are not in the same page .. They talk different each time you contact them. Overall horrible horrible experience.

Great Job!

I had a terrible experience with another moving company and was very concerned how this move would go. Ben assured me throughout the entire process that I could call him any time and he would take care of the arrangements. He delivered on his word with efficiency and assurance. The movers (Mike and Francisco) were very nice and took very good care of unloading our truck. The one glitch was they called while we were out of town wanting to deliver early the next day. We were able to make arrangements for the delivery to be later in the day when we were back in town to accept the truck. I would highly recommend Ben at the Social Moving   Group which I found when searching online with US Express Relocation.

Nightmare! do Not Use!!

Not sure where to begin. This has by far been the worst moving experience EVER! And, we've moved 15 times since 2003! Ben (who seems to have no last name), our contact at Social Moving Company LLC and Jose', the truck driver, are both smooth talkers, but very deceitful. I was hooked up with them by a moving broker, whom I also would not recommend. I remained in MN when my husband had begun a new job in Denver after being unemployed for almost 4 months, living in hotels and eating out every meal. Also, I'm on disability with a chronic pain condition. Our financial recourses were completely depleted. We were told that our furniture would be disassembled and wrapped. What we weren't told was that furniture that had glass pieces, like our coffee table, we would be responsible to wrap/pack the glass part. We were not told this up front. We were charged extra for supplies and labor to pack the glass top of our coffee table, a sofa table, the stereo/tv stand and our curio cabinet. After our belongings were loaded on the truck, I drove to the truck scale with the driver, Jose'. He weighed the truck and our price almost doubled and he wanted 50%, less my deposit, right then and there. Again, something we weren't told. I tried to get ahold of the broker, but it was late and no one was there. In that moment I realized I had lost all control. I told Jose' we could not afford this move. But, feeling pressured I gave him a check. My husband and I left the next day for Colorado. I quickly realized that we would not be able to cover the check I had given Jose'. This is the one and only thing they did right. They did not deposit or try to cash that check. Our belongings remained in storage in MN. The broker refunded our deposit and left us to fend for ourselves against this moving company. Ben, could be pleasant, but when my husband confronted him and/or brought up taking legal action, Ben either hung up on him or threatened to throw all of our belongings in the trash. They wouldn't even tell us where they were storing our things! We were told by the broker the amount owed and that the acceptable method of payment was cash, cashier check or postal money order, though Ben insisted we pay cash and that was the only acceptable method of payment. Again, all they did was load a truck. My husband flew back to MN on Wed., Aug. 13, 2014. We didn't get the address for the storage unit until 5:54 PM when Ben text it to me. My husband picked up the rental truck the next morning and had to wait on Jose', who, he was told would arrive between 12 and 2 PM, but didn't arrive until after 3:30 PM, to open the storage locker. This also cost us extra as we were paying for help to reload our truck, so we paid for them to stand around. My husband had a Police Officer there because he didn't trust Jose', and you shouldn't either. They ended up charging us $1,500 to get our belongings. The Police Officer told my husband to pay the amount and take care of it in court after we had our things. So, after 30 days of living in an empty apartment, not being able to cook a meal or sleep in our bed, being sick, struggling with my pain and fatigue, and fighting like crazy to get our stuff, my husband will be home with it tonight, Aug, 15. The "service cost" associated with this review does not include, my husbands time off work, plane ticket, truck rental, hired help, gas, lodging, food and heartache.

Moving Company's Poor Service.

Stay away from this company. You will get nothing but poor service that you will regret. There are many other excellent moving companies..don't even go down the road of thinking you might use this company. You'll be sorry.
We experienced a "No Show" on pickup date. A month out for delivery. Lack of honesty. Damaged furniture, one piece beyond repair. Stir clear of this company..I don't even believe any of their positive reviews. Not with the service we received.

The best moving experience ever!!

We were very satisfied with this company. They showed up on time, loaded all our belongings with great care, and in a timely manner. Once we got to our new house, the movers helped us stay organized by placing our boxes and furniture in the designated room. They worked efficiently, and made sure that everything was to our satisfaction.
I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great moving experience!

Good move!

My husband and I recently used these movers and were happy with their services. They showed up on time at pick up and delivered our items in a reasonable time frame. A couple items had minimal damage but it was nothing unreasonable given a long-distance move. The movers themselves were pleasant, polite, and fast. Additionally, I was very impressed with how easy it was to get in touch with Ben about our moving details/delivery- it seems like he really cares about his customers' happiness. Our actual cost was about $200 more than our quote, but that was primarily due to the purchase of additional boxes and packing supplies. Overall, we are totally satisfied with this moving company and would recommend them.

Great Moving Experience.

Hello! I had the pleasure of booking Social Moving Group and they surpassed my expectations. Although I only moved a two bedroom apartment, his crew were like moving head hunters when it came to moving my things and packing the truck. Ben was super responsive whenever I called before and after the move. I already have referred multiple people to him for their moves in the future.

Thanks!

The Worst.

If I could give negative stars I would. Any of the positive reviews are absolutely ridiculous. Our original quote went up significantly by the end of our move however, that was not even the big issue. When booking our move I asked multiple times if they were brokered movers and was told no. We asked when our pick up needed to be to ensure our items would be delivered by a certain date. I was told multiple times our delivery would be on time including the day it was picked up. Once our items were picked up by the company all contact was lost. We could not get anyone to answer a phone call, were hung up on multiple times and resorted to blowing up every single phone number we could possibly find when our items still hadn't arrived several days after our delivery date. We were in a new town with ZERO of our belongings, they had everything we owned and were nowhere to be found. FINALLY I get John on the phone who I was told an owner which he denied when I called and interrupted me over and over to tell me he couldn't give me any information about my items or where they were. He referred me to Ben who we called and texted multiple times before he would answer then proceeded to feed me the same exact line. Eventually our items show up, damaged, dirty and wet. The people who brought our items had nothing to do with "US Express Relocation" which is also apparently "Social Moving Group". The nice man who delivered our items told us basically we got lucky everything even showed up from this company. NEVER AGAIN.. what a joke. And good luck if you need to file a claim because they won't answer your phone calls anyways.

HORRIBLE Experience!! Business Should Be Shut Down!

Social Moving Group (d/b/a United Express Relocation) failed to remove charges for items they didn't take, damaged other items, lost items and failed to deliver on the day promised. I contracted with Social Moving Group LLC d/b/a United Express Relocation to move my household goods from Georgia to Virginia. They arrived at my house and loaded the furniture there on August 11th. Then we went to a storage unit 8 miles away to load furniture I had stored there. When we arrived, it was discovered that the a/c unit had been leaking into my storage space for quite some time and everything was soggy and moldy. The movers could only take one item from there, but they failed to remove the charges for the rest of the items they did not take. I was scheduled to drive to Virginia the following day, August 12th, and United Express had promised to deliver my furniture on August 13th. They did not show up and did not contact me to let me know when they would deliver. I had to contact them and the customer service was deplorable. No one seemed to know what was going on. The quote had been given to me by John and, after leaving several messages, which he did not return, I succeeded in reaching him directly. I demanded to know when my furniture would arrive. He yelled at me that he was driving on the freeway at that moment and could not "pull a date out of his a**." He told me that, by law, he had 45 days to deliver the furniture. When I objected to this, he yelled at me in a very threatening tone "do NOT mess with me!" I finally talked to someone named Jessica who was able to tell me that the furniture would arrive "toward the end of the week." It arrived at 8:00 Saturday night, August 17th (four days late). There was damage to some furniture, including a broken leg on the antique desk they took from the storage unit. An antique hall tree, which had been handed down from my grandmother, was missing entirely. I reported it to the delivery men, who re-checked the truck and said it was not there. I called the next day to report it missing to Jessica and somebody else named Ben, who was supposedly the boss (although John had told me HE was the boss). They said they would check into it but I never heard from them. I called back the next week and was told it had been located in New York! They said they would retrieve it and deliver it to me within the next couple of weeks. Of course, that never happened and I made several phone calls. Each time, Jessica told me she would talk to Ben and have him call me, but he never did. She also told me I did not need to call her anymore, that she would call me when it was on its way. She never called again, so I finally called her on December 4th, at which time I demanded answers. Again, she said she would have Ben call me but he did not. I reached him directly on December 6th and he told me he would include me in a group text to the person who has my hall tree. I then received a text sent by Jessica to Tracey/Laura inquiring about the status of the antique hall tree that was delivered to them by mistake. No one's number was on the text but Jessica's so I'm not convinced it wasn't just a "dummy" message. At any rate, there has been no reply to the message by anyone except me. I replied that I wanted my grandmother's hall tree back and that, since they know where it is, they should go get it and deliver it to me as promised. I have to date not received any reply to that text or any phone calls. It is clear they have no intention of retrieving my hall tree and delivering it to me. It feels criminal to me that they can just refuse to deliver to me what is rightfully mine. that is the same as stealing it from me. If I could name one thing that I did not want to ever lose, it would be that hall tree. But of course, that’s the one thing I lost. And they know where it is..they’re just not delivering it to me. Customers would be better off to just leave their furniture behind or sell it before they move, combine the sale proceeds with the thousands that they would have paid United Express Relocation and buy new furniture to be delivered by professionals when they arrive at their new location. These people are liars and thieves..yes, THIEVES! They make promises to people that they know they have no intention of keeping, take their money and then do not deliver. Theft, Fraud, Larceny..by any name, this is what these people do. Their business should be shut down!
