Shleppers are the WORST moving company I have ever used and I would highly recommend you look elsewhere for your moving needs. Their service and support have dramatically declined from when I used them several years ago. Firstly, they sent me a very small truck to move the entire contents of a 1 bedroom apt (they will claim it was based on what I told them I was moving and how many boxes – even though they did not ask for any sizing or measurements). I had to get an additional U-Haul last minute. On top of all that and Shleppers refusing to get a bigger truck or send another one (or even give me a reduced rate on another rental), the movers ruined my velvet sofa by slashing their box cutters into the “protective” film they put on it to prevent damage! So careless. Shleppers offered me $60!! Insulting (again they will tell you they only pay for the weight of an item, not its actual value – so prepared for a 4K sofa to be ruined and then be offered $60). To accept the $60 would have prevented me from being able to write any reviews about them….no thank you.

Horrible company, very dishonest, neglectful. TheSchleppers team moved our furniture on 10/1/20. After they moved the content of our apartment into the truck, they arrived at our building two hours late, which was strange because it was only two blocks away. After the move was "done" they had us sign paperwork that the move was completed, and we tipped them (very well). However, thirty minutes after the movers left, we realized that they had completely ripped the leg of an expensive dresser and tried to put it back with Crazy Glue! We immediately brought it up with the company who said it was "part of the moving risk" and that since we had decided to take minimal insurance, we were only allowed $95 in damages, which is less than 10% of what the piece is worth. I asked for my tip back given that they had tried to deceit us, but she said "just too bad". What’s extremely concerning is the movers not being upfront about their $1000 screwup so that they could get tipped. Moving companies HAVE insurance companies to cover for major neglect such as this one. No apologies for the dishonesty at all.

Fortunately, there are two journalists who will write the case on their show and on the paper. Terrible customer service, like they don’t care.

Additionally When we wrote our complaint, they replied very homophobic remarks.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3050

Everything from beginning to end was smooth and efficient. I was able to provide an inventory of items to be moved over the phone and got a quote immediately. Later on, I was able to update my inventory as I discovered items that I had overlooked the first time. On the day of my move, the movers arrived right on time. My furniture and belongings were on the truck in less than 1.5 hours. Each piece of furniture was carefully wrapped in a blanket(s). The movers arrived a my new home (180 miles away) a few minutes after I did. The unloading was just as smooth and efficient as the loading. I highly recommend Schleppers.

From a large house to a one bedroom apartment. I was overwhelmed and I was putting it off for the past six months. I happened to receive a card from Shleppers in the mail and I decided to call them. Bright and early in the morning when I saw Luis smiling face he put me at ease.He was extremely competent ,patient compassionate understanding, quick and careful with all my things. I was worried that my large electric bed would not fit in the elevator but he did everything with these. Luis And his partner were understanding patient competent,
Safe patient compassionate and quick.

I hired Schlepper's for my move. After living in my apartment for 40 years, they packed up all my belongings the day before my move. They were efficient and arrived when they were supposed to. The day of my move was extremely smooth. No hassles, nothing broken and very respectful people.
I would not hesitate to use them again if I move again in the future. I would definitely recommend them to anyone that needs a mover and does not want to experience aggravation.

This is the 5th time I move with Shleppers and I wouldn't move with anybody else, because they are the best ! The whole process is very efficient because they have very good employees. Starting with the experienced sales person who visits you in your home; continuing with the friendly girls who answer the phone in the office and last but not least, with the hard working team that packs and moves you to the new place. The team is headed by a Foreman who is very attentive to your needs and wants and who works with his team and supervises the work. I'm a happy client !

I recently moved from my apartment with Shleppers moving. Unfortunately, my new apartment was not ready so most of my belongings/furniture had to be moved into storage. I used Shleppers and was very happy and satisfied. The three movers arrived early (after calling to say they were on their way), came up to the apartment, introduced themselves, shook hands with me and began working. They worked quickly and efficiently and packed everything with care. I had a few items/boxes that I requested be handled with extra care and they made sure they were handled carefully and assured me that they would place them appropriately in the storage facility. The men were friendly and accommodating, while working diligently and packing all items securely. I am quite confident that all of my belongings will be safe and secure in their storage and will be returned to me in perfect condition.

I hired Shleppers to move approximately one room of furniture from my family in Brooklyn to my home in Houston over the summer. After contacting a bunch of movers, they were the most helpful in estimating a quote for me (it was not a typical situation where all of the items were already in one place, and all the other movers refused to give me a quote without seeing the items in person). The quote was reasonable and accurate, the movers that arrived to pick up were polite, efficient, and extra helpful, and everything arrived on time with no damage. Would definitely use them again.

We had a great experience with Shleppers from start to finish. Our relocation specialist made himself available from the moment he arrived at our home for the moving estimate. We had a number of logistical changes and he worked with us through it all- even taking a call from me while he was on vacation! Shleppers did the packing for us prior to our move out date, and as I’ve unpacked, I’ve noted that not one single thing was broken or damaged in any way. They did a better job than I could have done (and I’ve moved quite a bit in my lifetime!). They were super fast as well, packing a 3-bedroom house in about 6.5 hours. At every point of the process the movers were on time, they worked efficiently and quickly, and they were courteous. Shleppers worked with us when our move in date changed and with the timing of delivery due to a snowstorm and delayed closing. Nothing was ever a problem- the entire move was done well. Thank you, Shleppers for a great experience.

I hired schlepers to move me from a temporary apartment two floors up into my permanent place. They came early and gave a quick look at furniture and the amount of boxes then went and got wardrobe boxes, dollies and a large bin and went to work.

The guys that handled my move we're constantly communicating and asking where everything should go, they packed up my entire closet and put everything back the exact same way in the new apt. Furniture and boxes all moved quicker than I could've imagined, and they treated my belongings as if they were their own. On top of all that the guys were incredibly friendly in addition to being great at their jobs. I'd recommended schlepers to anyone.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $733

While they arrived on time, they didn't remove the legs nor did they wrap a $3000 dresser properly. The dresser had never been moved before (I had bought it new and it was in the same place since it was moved into my apartment -- it was in pristine condition) but when it arrived at my final destination, there were chunks of wood missing all over the dresser and the legs looked like they were torn off and screwed back on. I've included photos of just a few of the nicks that are now on the dresser from the move. The side with the chunks of wood missing had been next to a wall in my apartment -- it would have been impossible for me to damage the dresser. They have refused to compensate me for the damages and I've since disputed with American Express -- Shleppers told AmEx that they didn't damage the furniture. I am convinced they take bats to people's possessions when they're in storage. When I booked the move, they didn't offer me any insurance and any questions I had about the move, they were nasty in their responses, like I was wasting their time. Unless you want your possessions destroyed, don't use them. Unless you want your stuff thrown into boxes, definitely don't pay for them to pack.

We decided to use Shleppers since close family had fantastic experiences with the company. Derek did a detailed estimate helping me through 38 years of furniture ,family treasures ,antiques and many more extremely valuable possessions. He made the process much more comfortable for me and helped me know what I could pack safely and what was best his team did for us .As promised it was fantastic! His team was organized polite and incredibly efficient. I thank you Derek you were right

I had a terrible experience w Schleppers

1. Multiple broken pieces of furniture, some they tried to hastily fix when I wasn’t looking with wood glue and clamps

2. Out of the entire crew (8 men) 2 wore masks during the move.

3. Communication between me and the dispatch team was terrible. Never told me when they were done in old house, no follow up after move.

4. When I filed a claim was told I didn’t purchase full value protection - was never mentioned or offered during any communication w company- so would get a tiny fraction of cost of damages

5. Boxes scattered throughout house and not in the right rooms - clothes in dining room etc
