RoadRunner Moving

TLDR: This company is completely trash. DO NOT USE THEM! Keywords: Late shipment, Not picking up calls, No status reported, OVERCHARGING and using my packages as HOSTAGE

Here are the things I experienced:

1. I moved from coast to coast, and they said it would take 9 days because this is the route they specialized in. Well, it took them exactly TWO MONTHS to deliver my stuff.

2. During the two months, I kept calling them. Only less than 5% of my calls actually get picked up. I never called outside of the 9am - 5pm timeframe.

3. I left voicemails and messages on their website. No one ever returned them.

4. When my calls did get through, the company COULD NOT tell me where my packages were. They tracked the status on an excel sheet. All they could tell me was 'it's in transit', whatever that meant. They could NOT tell me an estimated delivery date.

5. When they finally came to my apartment to deliver, they charged me $350 more than the price on our signed contract. I asked to speak to a manager, and the movers refused and simply said, "We will drive away with your stuff if you don't pay this amount". I told them holding items as hostage is illegal but they didn't care.

Roadrunner moving company AKA Polaris Moving systems. I do not often write on social media sites however I feel compelled to do so regarding this company and what they have put us through. Do not EVER hire this moving company who are based in California. There are 84 complaints on websites about this company and their modus operandi in which all of them are stating the same thing. They show up, charge double the original estimate and when they deliver, most of your items are damaged or broken and the rest of it never shows up. Unfortunately, we hired Alliance to move our property from Oregon to New Hampshire and it was they who brokered it out to these people. True to form, they showed up on the day that we were meant to be out of the house saying that the original estimate was incorrect, and they wanted double the money. They assured us that our items would be kept in a locked facility. Of course, we did not look at reviews on the day that we had to vacate the house, why would you? We tried to contact them several times once we had settled as we noticed we had been charged for 3400 cubic feet. The two U- Haul vans that they turned up in could only take a maximum of 2700 square feet. We were also charged extra as we were informed they had to use “shuttle vans” to deliver as there was no access for a larger truck which was ridiculous as there is an interstate right up to where we reside. Eleven times in total we asked for the contract and the receipt for the vans. The receipts were never received, and we finally got the contract on the day of delivery. Move forward to the day of delivery. Although it stipulates in the contract you can pay by money order, cash or wire transfer, and although having made a money order out to them, May Evan (office manager) refused to allow the delivery men to offload until a wire transfer was made. Because the bank was closing when I got there to change the payment delivery, the men were instructed to take a hotel room until the wire transfer was received. We were informed, with witnesses present that we would not be charged for this. The following day, we were informed by May that we would have to pay an extra $2200 for the night the men had had to stay. When I informed her that she wasn’t getting another penny from us, she stated that she would accept $1000. Due to this extortion, the Police were called, and she was informed in no uncertain terms that unless all our stuff was unloaded, all the delivery men would be heading to jail. Our items were eventually offloaded but what James and I were witnessing left us in shock. Most of our furniture that was on the van had been damaged, glasses, pictures, boxes had been rifled through, souvenirs from places we have visited, all smashed AND most of our furniture was not even on the trucks that showed up. Move forward to the present day, four months since delivery, over $50,000 worth of our property nowhere to be found. They have refused to answer our voicemails and emails, but reading the reviews, this is part of their M.O. Because the contract stipulates that if we are dissatisfied, we would have to sue them in California, I contacted five different lawyers to sue for breach of contract, neglect, and larceny. None of them returned calls. Maybe they are all related to this company. Moral of this story: I would be grateful if everyone could repost this so that it can be dispersed to the public. I just hope by writing this long spiel, and I apologize for it, we can save someone from going through the traumatic experience that this horrendous company has put us through.

Thanks a ton to RoadRunner Moving for the great work!! You guys did your thing with helping me out after a long stressful time trying to find a mover. This was a process from hell. I had nonstop calls for weeks, finally I got 3 quotes and submitted them to my company, and the HR rep for my new job picks these guys because of their online reputation. On the day of the move everything went well. They had their own trucks and the moving company was very professional. I really appreciate all the help that I received from their sales rep at their company. He was very sweet and good with my family. I had them pack up all my fragile items as well for a little bit extra cost.

I didn’t know what to expect from Road runner Moving when I hired them to move my belongings since this was the first time I hired them. They gave me a reasonable estimate for a crew of four men. They called me around 11 am on the moving day and notified that the movers were on the way. I thought that was a really nice touch because we had time to sort things out before their arrival. The movers arrived at 11:30 am and they were done with the packing and loading in just a few hours. I was shocked seeing how quick and efficient these movers were. They proved to be very reliable too as they delivered all my stuffs in great condition on the first scheduled day for delivery. Such professionalism is so rare these days. I will definitely hire these guys again.

I had warned Road runner Moving about the amount of stuffs we owned as a family of five. They had to pack each and every item we own. These poor men had to work twice as hard to make this move possible. Even the smallest of things didn’t miss their attention. They arrived with plenty of boxes, bubble wraps and tapes. The organization among the three movers was a sight for sore eyes. It was so good to see such professionalism still exists. Our move was made so easy by these amazing movers. They made sure everything arrived safely to our new house. I applaud these boys for the mammoth efforts they put in.

My girlfriend and I decided to rent an apartment together in the city. She was staying at her dorm while I was staying with my parents. So, Road runner Moving has their work cut out. They had to collect things from two places and then bring them to one place. I was expecting for it to take a long time. Amazingly, the crew was so efficient that it took only the half amount of time from what I anticipated. The 4 men arrived at my house first right on time and started packing everything very meticulously. They were done loading the vans in no time at all. My girlfriend had way more stuff than me. So the movers were taking more time to her wrap up her place but even then it didn’t take very long. Both vans arrived right on the scheduled date and all our items traveled safely. I just couldn’t imagine this move turned out to be so damn easy.

BEST SERVICE EVER! Very professional company. Assisted me with very short notice and timely service. All of the movers came in ready to work nonstop, wrapped my belongings appropriately, quickly and without one item broken or damaged. They completed the job effortlessly. Highly recommended. RoadRunner Moving provided a straight estimate with no hidden costs associated. Just what is needed when you have so many additional moving cost. Thank You RoadRunner Moving Team!!

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $7690

Our cross-country move took much longer than expected: approximately 3 months. They delivered four separate times to our home, because they lost our things in California and New Jersey in transferring items between trucks and warehouses. We are still missing a dozen items, including a safe, but they stopped answering our calls. They never reassembled the furniture that they disassembled even though we paid for the platinum package. When we filed a complaint for missing items and services, they offered us only $92.
