RoadRunner Moving

I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN AND I CANNOT RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL.. AND THE INSURANCE COMPANY THAT HANDLES THEIR CLAIMS.
We hired another company to move us and they never showed up so we were in a bind because we had renters coming in a week to rent out home. When we called this company, they gave us a quote and we agreed to it and signed the paperwork. Later that day we got a call from Ron saying the original estimate was too low and they were going to raise it. We felt like our hands were tied because we needed to be out, so we agreed. When the movers arrived, they started separating items and adding them to the original estimate count so by the time they had everything loaded, we owed several thousand dollars more. But here's the kicker, the loader in charge, said he could make a deal with us. He offered to only keep the original amount paperwork if we paid him and his crew the difference in cash. It was like $1000 difference and I told him I'd give them a few hundred dollars (again, because we were on a short timeline).
When it came time for delivery, we kept getting the run around about when our stuff would arrive. I think it finally arrived about 10 days late. AND, the delivery guys smelled like marijuana. Then.. they waited about 2 hours before they started to unload the truck - and took more smoke (fortunately not mj) breaks than one would be accustom too. They were supposed to deliver everything inside the house but they said they had to leave so they just left several items in the driveway.
There are several things I'm forgetting because I get so furious just thinking about having had to deal with this company.
Then came the time to submit claims. We had more than 30 items that were broken, torn, cracked, crumpled or otherwise negatively affected by the move. We were referred to their claims company. The first thing the claims company asked for was a copy of the bill of landing (which I don't remember ever receiving), then we had to submit copies of the inventory estimate and an explanation of damage and photos. After about two months of back and forth, they gave us an estimate of $500 for all our damaged goods. To fix or replace everything they damaged, it would have been in the thousands of dollars.
The whole process from the original estimate to the delivery and then the claims, felt like a bait and switch shake down.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AT ALL.

Buyer beware! One of the worst experiences I have ever had with a company providing a service. I'm wondering if some of the other 5 star reviews are not real. The movers that showed up to pick up the stuff wanted $2,000 more than what was quoted. The mover who arrived to unload came with no help and had to place an ad on Craigs List to find someone to help him unload our stuff. He also drove carelessly and caused property damage. In short, a bad experience from start to finish,.

I found RoadRunner Moving guys to be very supportive. They combined beautifully to give me first class move and without overcharging me. By the end of the process, I was so happy with my decision to use them and I will call them again should I need to move in the future. It was a great move by really great guys. RoadRunner Moving is a solid company. Thumbs up to the best mover. my family adores you. RoadRunner Moving did a very commendable work. I just love the company.

Don't trust these people. That's the bottom line. They left me to take delivery 11:15 PM. The dispatched told us we had to take delivery whenever they showed up no matter the time or be charged a redelivery fee. I tried to escalate this issue during the business day when we thought they were showing up at 9PM but never got in touch with anyone who could help. I tried to air my frustrations the next day but again found the same dead ends. Overall I tried calling and leaving messages with various parties about a dozen times with nothing to show for it other than some furniture they didn't put together (I wasn't going to hold them to that at 1am) and some damaged stuff they didn't pack well enough (like a broken piece of our rocking chair and our dented microwave).

Also total bait and switch on the price. After agreeing to a price they decided they had to use a shuttle to deliver to our house at an additional $420. They cited DOT but couldn't cite any regulations. Looking at the situation and how it was delivered it seems to me they never planned to use a large truck and stuck me with the bill due to their lack of planning.

I am giving them 2 stars because pick up was handled well and I think if you were moving within the bay area the experience might be fine however that office hasn't been responsive.

Hi All,

We had to move our household items from San Jose, CA to Austin towards the end of Jan, 2021. Initial estimate was 1 week to deliver our goods but it was delivered after 6 weeks.

-> Firstly, this is a brokerage company

-> Polaris and roadrunner are the same. they have 2 names jus tot dilute the negative complaints.

-> They quote really less and then once you sign the agreement they find ways to take money from your pocket. On the day of delivery, they quoted additional 350$ saying the trunk can't fit in my community which is a funny statement since my apartment roads are huge and I see many truck coming in all the time. I told the same and they asked me to get a U-haul and collect form their warehouse. No matter what you say, they will make you pay additional 400$

-> Very rude behaviour from Alena and Chris. They don't give an ETA and they say it is company policy to not give an ETA which is the most funniest statement that I've heard in my entire life.

-> Please don't please in this company. You will regret big time. Me and my wife had to stay without household goods for 6 weeks. Can't even imagine this scenario with kids and parents.

BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE!!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!

Please, look at review dates! 2021 is ALL NEGATIVE!! THEY HAVE 2 YELPS! DO N OU T BE FOOLED! DO NOT USE THESE MOVERS!!!

This company was contracted by a broker so we had no idea what we were in for! They showed up at the house and said they couldn't move us for the broker fee! They doubled the cost $20,000!!! Broker bowed out!! What were we to do? House was sold and we had to move!

We moved across country during "slow season" and it took this company 15 WEEKS to get us 95% of our belongings. The other 5%? Gone forever!! Ladders, art work, wardrobe box and much more, gone!

The lies were never ending! "Your items have been loaded." Then 2 weeks later, "I dont have a trucker for that load." 4 times we heard this!!!

3 out of 4 bookcases were literally torn apart! An antique rocker has no rockers, most boxes looked like they had been "ROLLED" across pavement! So much broken and damaged! Items wrapped in blankets at the departure were without blankets upon arrival dirty and broken!!

I've never been more disgusted in a business before!! I've moved 11 times in 30 years and this is undoubtably the worst!

DO NOT CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPANY!!!
