Long-distance move from Utah to Oklahoma

Relo Van Lines.

The worst moving company I have ever dealt within 18 moves. Lazy, late, damaged items, no insurance coverage or willingness to reimburse damages, smokers, drug addicts. Didn't estimate load or anything correctly. I had to rent and drive a U-Haul truck to get the rest of my stuff to the new home, which is what I was trying to avoid. Awful, horrible experience. It was over 4 months ago and I still haven't been reimbursed for anything. Do not use this company or any of its affiliates!

Long-distance move from Minnesota to North Carolina

Poor service, bad workers.

I moved from MN to NC and had the moving company pack/wrap all my furniture.  The inventory list I signed had been altered showing many items “D” Damaged, or “B” Broken, which were not shown originally (the driver had made changes, then put his hand over the document and told me to sign the bottom).   We watched him pack the bed (Kingsdown with low-profile foundation) yet when it got to NC, the foundation was broken in half, like a Taco!!  My antiques were in perfect shape when they wrapped them, but now have lots of damage.  A few of the plastic bins I used had been broken and my items fell onto a dirty area then shoved back in.  The driver was untruthful.  The owner of the company was yelling at me on the phone when discussing scheduling.  Never use these people.

Long-distance move from Delaware to Florida

Could Have Been Better.

My 1st move in 35 years so was unprepared for brokering of movers. 1st broker took goods from Delaware to warehouse in New Jersey on day contracted but brought goods to New Jersey where they were kept for several days before they began the move to Florida. 1st broker was very good, conscientious, and informative.

2nd broker, not so much.. Delivery was 3 days late and bed bureaus, mirrors, and chairs were not put back together. Fortunately, the 1st brokers were good enough that nothing got broken.

The communication between me and Relo Van Lines was fine, but after the switch-off to the brokers, it was absolutely horrible. There was a 5-day window for delivery and still did not get to goods to me within the timeframe - they were 3 days late and I had to call all over to find out where they were and when they would be coming. Not fun, especially since I had a surrogate at the receiving site.

Relo Van lines received $1453 of the $2490 cost of the move. Pretty hefty fee for paper work and telephone calls.

If I actually knew who the 1st movers were, I'd use them again without apprehension, but I'm glad I'm not moving again and would have to choose another not-so-great mover.

Service cost: $2490

Long-distance move from Pennsylvania to Florida

Shabby service.

We contracted a mover for a moving from Pennsylvania to Florida. Evidently they contracted out to Relo Van Lines. Our furniture was delivered on December 19, 2015. With the exception of one piece of furniture there was damage ranging from minmal to extreme. Everything I packed carefully and boxed myself, was delivered in perfect condition which again points to the total disrespect of their customers and their furniture. In the presence of the movers photographs were taken and a claim was filed. I did not take additional insurance because of the cost. We are senior citizens and must watch what we spend. Relo Van Lines Claims Department in Margate, Fl approved $127.50 (.60 cents per pound). I asked for a reconsideration and on March 11, 2016 we received a letter stating not further allowance will be made, to complete the forms and return them and a check would be issued. To date, October 11, 2016, nothing has been received. Multiple e-mails with the company advised the claim rep would be contacted, the check is on the way and the best - the girl in the office is on maternity leave. This is totally unacceptable to me and I feel I have been taken advantage of as a senior citizen. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN before contracting with Relo Van Lines.

Long-distance move from Huntsville, TX to Crown Point, IN

Dishonest, disreputable, disgusted!

DO NOT use this company! There would be a more negative reviews but they make you sign an agreement stating " any claim, complaint or grievance filed subsequent to this release agreement shall be retracted and/or will be reported that a satisfactory settlement has been reached by all parties. In the event that any claims, complaints or grievances have already been filed with any regulatory/reporting agency or bureau, customer agrees to retract said claims/complaints, or report a satisfactory settlement has been reached by all parties". That alone should tell you something! If you want to get compensation for your property that they destroy, you cannot file a complaint with the BBB or anyone else! I will have to delete my review once my lawyer gets done "negotiating" with this company.
To start with: 1) Our belongings were not picked up when they were supposed to be or delivered when promised. They even called the day before to let us know they were coming… and didn't show up for the delivery,
2) numerous damaged items along with missing items,
3) delivered someone else's belongings to our house. One year later, and their stuff is still in my garage. Relo offered to reimburse me if I would ship this huge box to them and submit a receipt,
4) after you sign the inventory list at pick up, they go back and add to the paperwork to show that your items were damaged when they picked them up,
5) when you submit a claim, they devalue most everything. Instead of paying $.60 on the pound, they either offer compensation, anywhere between five and $10 per item, or all of a sudden… your 350 pound sofa only weighs 150 pounds. That will save Relo $120.
In our case: 4131 pounds of damaged goods = $2478.60. They offered us $536.00. I refused and they upped the offer to $938.00. Either way, they are still ahead and you end up with damaged goods and a lot of misery.

Long-distance move from Sacramento, CA to Seattle, WA

Worst Experience of My Life.

Literally worst experience of my life. It still haunts me since I have to think of the items stolen from me which reminds me of the entire horrible experience. JUST DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY and save yourself a lot of serious trauma. I cannot believe in this day and age that the people they hire are allowed in people's homes and around their children and personal belongings.

Long-distance move from Wayne, NJ to Boca Raton, FL

Great experience.

Not sure why there are so many negative reviews. I moved from New Jersey to Florida and the Relo team basically did everything for me. My quote was accurate and my belongings were in perfect condition. They were friendly, attentive, and simply a pleasure to work with.
