Reasonable Trucking

Amazing service from start to finish. Excellent communication, kind, honest, personable, professional and efficient. My father in law moved from Nova Scotia to Montreal and we had a very hard time finding a moving company we felt we trusted. Both Shane and Joan responded to my inquiry within minutes of my email. The price was competitive and they were worth every penny! The other staff movers (Jim and Wesley) were courteous, careful and friendly. They did not even put one mark on any of the walls. It looks like nothing was damaged - impeccable!! Thank you for making my father in law's trip so much less stressful. I definitely recommend this company 100%.

I really regret my decision to choose Reasonable Trucking Limited for moving. They are the most Unprofessional people that I had to deal with. They didn't deliver my items on time will be a understatement.

Short Story

- Unprofessional

- Appalling Customer service, will even shout and swear at customers.

- Never delivers on promised date

- All they care about is money and but they don’t care about the service they provide.

- They will finally blame the customer for all of their wrong doings.

Long Story

I planned to move from Nova Scotia to Ontario and chose Reasonable trucking Limited for moving services after reading the nice reviews in “www.mymovingreviews.com”. I contacted their office and spoke to Joan, who gave me a low and attractive quote of around 900 dollars for 1400-1500 lbs. I signed the contract and they picked up all items on the mutually agreed date.

However due to COVID-19 issues, I had to delay my move. So, I informed them not to move it and hold/ store it till further communication. They agreed and told me that storage fee is $75.

Later I dropped my plan and chose to stay in NS itself. I informed them about that and they agreed to deliver it to my new address in NS.

When I found a new apartment and informed them, they said they are going to Ontario and will have to deliver it within the next 2 days or after 20 days. Upon my request they promised to deliver on the same day evening. When I contacted Shane (Who is owner’s relative and the one who delivers items) he said he will reach on time and I made the necessary arrangements at building. But later he informed me the Truck broke down and they will have to reschedule it to next day morning.

The next day morning, he said the issue is not resolved and rescheduled to evening.

This drama continued for the next 7 days and he rescheduled delivery for around 20-30 times. I contacted him several times on each of these days, but he seldom picks up the phone but texts me with excuses and new stories about their difficulties, but continues to give false promises about item delivery. Also, he asked not to contact the office, as that would put a lot of pressure on Joan and only, he can resolve the issue.

When ever I contacted office, Joan reassured that they will deliver all items and also said that they all are in a lot of pressure. But it took some time for me to realise that it was all fake and they didn’t care about the difficulties that I am facing because of their actions.

I started to doubt their intentions and lost all hope of receiving my items. Every day I contacted Shane and Joan several times and I only received false promises. After a week, Shane guaranteed that, they will deliver it on the next day Morning before 9am or I don’t have to pay the moving fees. He even sent me a photo of this agreement written by him

Again next day morning, they didn’t deliver and when I contacted the office, Joan said all items were delivered. But when I disagreed, they said they will deliver soon. Later they called me and said I will have to pay $600 as flat rate.

So for basically picking up items from NS and storing it for a Month and a week, delaying delivery for 8 days, making me go through a lot of stress and later delivering in the same city in NS , they asked $800. ($200 Security deposit + $600). When I asked for details, they refused to give any but instantly gave me discount of $100. I insisted on getting the details and the owner Gordon then started shouting at me. He said he don’t have time for anything and cannot provide any details and will only deliver when the money is paid. I never refused to pay the money but after more than a week of false promises, I didn’t trust them anymore. I started to doubt that this is a scam and they are trying to get more money from me and never deliver my items.

I felt tricked and even had to make a Police complaint as the last resort (which was of no help to me). After filing the complaint, on 8th day after the originally agreed upon date, they delivered my items after I paid Gordon $500 more. When they came to deliver items, Gordon started to have a rant at me and he was yelling at me. He shouted at me for calling their office and said I put his wife Joan under a lot of pressure and she is Sick. I wondered then why she is still attending the calls at their office and when a customer is not getting his items, whom should he contact other than their office. But he was not ready to listen to me at all.

Gordon shamelessly said that they are doing a favour by not charging me the whole $900 in initial contract of delivering items to Mississauga . For that ‘discount’ he asked me to pick up the items myself from the truck and help Shane.

I have never seen such a bunch of unprofessional, rude people in my life and hopes no one else goes through what I have experienced.

If any of the readers are considering RTL, my advice will be to stay away from them.

Horrible, terrible nightmare of a service and of a company. Moved from Ontario to Nova Scotia during the pandemic, so being late is totally reasonable and expected. What I didn't expect is for then to dick me around so much over a date. We had to schedule a date and time several times for them to no show nor even call, causing me to miss several days of work.

When they finally did come, a lot of my stuff was water damaged and half my boxes were missing. All of our electronics were "lost", including Google minis, a Mac book, home audio equipment, car stereo equipment, etc. On to the next battle to get them to deliver the missing boxes. After about three weeks of more dicking around to deliver our missing stuff, they finally came today with a whopping two of the several missing boxes. Still missing is all of our expensive electronics and computers. At this point, I'm thinking our only option is small claims court.

Do not under any circumstance hire this company. You will not get your stuff and your expensive stuff will somehow get lost.

I cannot believe this happened reasonable trucking picked up the contents of my house and garage April 13th .As the purchase of a house was in progress I paid for 2 months of storage. On June 12 I asked for my belongings to be delivered. It was refused as they were too busy and I would have to wait until July. They made a partial delivery on Sunday 19 July,many items were damaged, and shane said he would deliver the rest of my belongings on Thursday. No show or even a phone call .Thursday afternoon I phoned Joan she knew nothing of a delivery for thursday and thought I received everything on Sunday, and said a delivery would be made in the next two days. Shane cancelled this and said the delivery would be monday, surprise they were leaving for ontario that day, but would deliver my good on the way out of nova scotia. Then they could not deliver as there was not room on the truck. At this point my lawyer sent a letter and said they had until the 21st of August to make a final delivery. On tuesday the 18th while I was out they dumped a pile of garbage in my shed, a broken tin welcome sign a tin ornamental paddle etc the only items that were mine were a yellow bucket ,1 tarp, 1 green garbage can and a liner for my van.

The goods that were damaged on the initial delivery were

1 .2 seater sofa with a 2 inch tear in the arm and no legs

2 drawers the front torn off and ther other with a hole in it

One light base cracked up

The back of one night stand damaged

Missing items

Matching chair for sofa seat cushion but no chair

Delivered 8 drawers for a king size bed,no base no mattress

1 drawer for a captains bed no bed

Half an oak hutch the top half missing glass shelf broken, matching coffee table and end table not delivered

Delivered 5 dining room chairs matching buffet but no dining table

Anything shane packed not delivered ie 8 pieces china setting large vase and turquoise bottle.

No items from the garage tools water barrels etc snow blower

When asked where these items were they denied that they had been loaded on the van

Missing item have a value of thousands of dollars and the oak furniture was made by my husband,(deceased) irreplaceable.

So for just under $5000 dollars they have reaked havoc on my personal belongings.

I don't know what happened to this company; but I used them to move a couple of times; but had no problems. when I recommended them to a family member; it was a totally different experience.usually they number all the boxes ; but this time they did not, for some inexplicable reason. When the items were delivered there were several boxes missing. The company was called and they said to send receipts of items they bought to replace those things that were lost. That being done; never heard back from them. further calls resulted in them saying they know nothing about it and refused to accept responsibilty. Therefore I am warning others; don't use this company if you want to receive all your goods. VERY Bad company.
