Long-distance move from Florida to West Virginia

Awful

Scammers. They now use the name long distant van lines. Go by multiple company names. Rip you off, act very aggressive and threatening toward customers, lie, break your things. Safe ship contracts. Stay away from both.

Long-distance move from New York, NY to Raleigh, NC

Stay Away From Rayan Vanlines.

STAY AWAY from Rayan Vanlines of NJ!! - This was the worst moving experience I have ever had:
1. Once the truck was loaded they double increased what I owed 2. They were supposed to give 48 hours notice of coming to pick up but called at 11:30pm the night before
3. Was told delivery would have a 5 day window at the new location but had to keep calling to find out the date and was told no it was 21 day window - finally got delivered 7 days later - the scheduled time was between 10am and noon - they arrived at 4pm
4. I had packed myself except for a few large items with all brand new boxes and packing material from Home Depot - I have had done this several times before with no issue or breakage - but when the boxes arrived, after apparently being stored somewhere, they were all damaged, holes in them and crushed plus dirty with a grit all over them and some with grease, furniture was scratched and some, having packing tape applied directly to it, had the finish removed along with damaging my widescreen tv.
5. One box had even been repackaged and broken piece removed and I was not notified of it. Family heirlooms that had survived numerous moves were broken and despite the condition of the boxes it was considered my fault since I had packed them.
For the VERY expensive financial I paid them for this move the treatment of my belongings was as if it was garbage and unfortunately and in some cases heartbreakingly that’s where some ended up.
6. I have tried contacting them several time with calls never returned.
DO NOT USE RAYAN VANLINES of Union City NJ. If you want a good move and value your possessions. They DO NOT Care!!

DO NOT USE RAYAN VAN LINES/Prestige!!(!minus 10 rating).

Moved from Nh to Florida. We were charged more money then quoted for pick up. Our furniture arrived nine days later. Our furniture was stuffed into a small truck which was also had another home delivery of furniture on the truck. The truck was packed was packed haphazardly to the ceiling. When the opened the truck things were falling out. The first box they unpacked was a plastic box that my mothers platter that was a treasured possession of mine. The plastic box was in pieces. The driver callously said to me I guess you have an insurance claim. Box after box I am talking plastic heavy duty came out broken and damaged. The worst was yet to come. When they pulled out my dining room set. The top was cracked and the chairs and legs of the table was gouged! The chairs were left in the rain and then in aa hot track. The wrapping was stuck to the chairs. They were black and sticky. My pictures and my husbands tools never made it.I put in a claim for appr 10,000 dollars. This took me weeks to take pictures, print and fill out long claim paperwork. I just got an e-mail that stated they would pay 78.00. The insurance company claimed they were an "independent" party. I hope the attorney general would investigate the company.

Long-distance move from Boston, MA to Seattle, WA

Warning! do Not Use This Moving Company.

Here is the detailed email I sent to Best Interstate explaining my TERRIBLE experience with them and they did absolutely nothing to remedy the situation.

Tequela,

I don’t think there has been a full appreciation of how terrible my experience with your company has been and I feel my calm approach to all of the poor experiences I have had has jaded your view (and your companies view) of my situation. So I’m going to spell it out below (attached is a PDF version):

1) Poor Communication: When I booked your service, you could only provide me with a 1-week window for when the movers were coming but told me you would proactively notify/call me then the dates for arrival were finalized. This never happened. I had to call you every day as the window for arrival narrowed until finally (from me having to call you), I was informed you would be coming the next day!

2) Shady Business Practices: When the movers were moving out my things, they wanted me to sign blank contracts that were going to be filled in after the fact. There is no scenario on Earth where anyone should do this, and I refused. This led to the movers threating to walk out and not move my items. They actually physically exited my apartment and started to pack up the truck, all because I wouldn’t sign a BLANK CONTRACT!! I eventually had to talk them back and gave into signing the contract because you gave me no other choice.

3) Damaging my property: Upon moving my belongings, they broke a lamp outside my door and tried to hide/fix it using PAPER CLIPS! I can’t even make this stuff up. Below are pictures. The only reason I didn’t bring this up before is because the landlord of the building decided not to charge me. Your movers lucked out.

4) Poor Communication: When my items were being transported to my end destination, I was told the movers were going to arrive on Tuesday, April 22nd. I had prepared my building manager for this date and made my own work preparations. But on Saturday, April 20th at 3pm, I get a call saying the movers will be arriving the next day, EASTER SUNDAY (April 21st). So instead of spending time with my family, I was waiting for the movers to come. And in true fashion, they were late for the time range they provided.

5) Damage my property: Once my boxes were unloaded, the condition of the boxes were in rough shape to say the least. The boxes looked so bad, they probably would have arrived in better condition in the back of a broken down, open-aired, flatbed, pick-up truck. Additionally, the movers stained the back of my couch as well. See pictures below.

6) Damage my property: Due to the truly terrible way my items were handled, my 42” LG Smart TV was broken. See pictures.

7) Lost my items: And lastly, and worst of all, you lost my one-of-a-kind painting that I PAID YOU EXTRA to box up. You have treated this with a lackluster approach and presented me with a ridiculous “option” that doesn’t even cover the expenses already paid to move the item. WHICH YOU LOST!

We are officially at the 20-day mark from my move. I have had to spend the time to reach out to you, instead of you reaching out to me. I have basically had to call you every other day (that’s 10 calls) to get any sort of update. Between the poor communication, shady business practices, miscoordination of times, condition of my furniture and items, and losing a very expensive item for which you have offered nothing, I have had it. I have let all of this slide because all I wanted was my painting back and I could have just moved on. But now you are slapping me in the face with what you are presenting and I feel personally offended. Above is a laundry list of egregious actions which if only one of these things happened a customer would be upset, and I have SEVEN.

Rayan ?? terrible -1 rating horrific.

This company is horrendous, horrible, and simply poor. We have had them move us from Connecticut to Florida. We moved three bedrooms and a work shop, out of 140 boxes shipped, over 100 were crushed and or damaged. The full dryer was shipped on its side, our six burner gas’s grill crushed, plasma TVs shipped on its sides when clearly marked ship this side up. The truck showed up at 5 pm when we were told 12 noon. 2 movers showed up instead of 4, and had I not helped unload for over 3 hours it would not have been done by 1 am. I could go on for another page. Bottom line this company is bad. I rate it a MINUS 1. Do not use these clowns.

Long-distance move from Dudley, MA to Bonita Springs, FL

Rayan Vanlines.

Do not use this mover! They wrecked so much of my stuff in a long distance move and then won’t pay for any of the damages. They are just in it for the money and don’t care at all about the customer or the customers furniture. I have never seen so much damage in my life! It looks like they took a sledge hammer to my furniture while packing it on the truck! I went through best interstate movers so don’t use them either because they are just bidding it out to other moving companies and taking in a couple thousand dollars for themselves. Repeating do not use this company they absolutely suck!

Rayan Van Lines.

Do not use this business. They moved my family from Virginia to Texas. They doubled our initial cost estimate, took more than a week to show up, tried to demand cash on arrival, damaged several if our belongings and refused to take their trash at the end if the day.
