Long-distance move from Virginia to North Carolina

Real Customer.

These guys were sent a quote from a different moving company and we provided them a checklist of every single item and box to move. Other company quote was $4500, Primeway was $5500. Other company had a 24 foot and a 16 foot truck planned for the job.

We went with Primeway because they could deliver on day or day after our move while other company was a week later.

Primeway showed up with one small 26 foot truck. I said that I don't think the truck is big enough for all our stuff (4 bedroom house).

Guy said truck holds 2400 cubic feet and the estimated amount is 1800 cubic feet. I told him okay, but all our stuff doesn't fit perfectly together so I still don't think it will fit. He said if we have more than their estimated 1800 cubic feet of stuff that will be an adjusted price.

I called company and said their quote was their quote and if they come up with 1800 cubic feet (other company had 1900 cubic feet) that is on them and I am only paying their quote price.

She said they have to adjust based on actual. At this point there is nothing I can really do. They are there to move us on day we have to be out and they have over $1000 deposit from is. What can I do. I told the girl on the phone they better not try to charge me more or I will slam them on every review site I can find.

Well after everything didn't fit and we had to leave some stuff, guy comes in house with (oh yeah, they only showed up with 3 guys to move) checklist and says total cost is $8263 but he will only charge us $7000 as a favor to Grace who was the girl in the office I spoke to.

Oh, wow, what a favor! Charged us $1500 more than their estimate and didn't even get all our stuff and we did a lot of the moving ourselves because they only had three guys.

Then the stupid company gets to our new house at like 7:00 pm to move stuff in and they only have 2 freaking movers. We moved as much stuff as the two movers and they still were here until 2:00 am. They were rushing and didn't even put all the furniture back together. Walls are scratched to all heck in our brand new house. They broke our treadmill wiring and a leg on our brand new dining room hardwood bench.

All these other reviews have got to be written by this company. These guys were the worst. I wish I had gone with the other company and just lived in an empty house for a week.

They said more for packing 2 large TVs and extra for heavy item (treadmill). Total BS, those items were all on the move list. All a big shell game with these guys!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

Long-distance move from Washington DC to Louisiana

I am amazed.

I am amazed. I needed to relocate from DC to be closer to my family. I was under a lot of pressure to get things done in little time. This company took care of my belongings, packed most of my things for me and I was able to complete my move sooner than I could have ever expected. I was met with nothing but kindness not only from the office liaison but even the movers themselves. Everyone was so courteous and professional. I couldn't have asked for anything more from primeway movers.

Long-distance move from Virginia to Florida

Worst moving experience ever.

We gave Primeway Movers exact number and dimensions of our stuff. When the movers arrived on the day of the move, they decided to increase the price 40% claiming that our standard Uhaul moving boxes "looked bigger". When we didn't immediately accept, they have suddenly left without moving our stuff. On top of that, they refused to pay back our deposit. I would not recommend anyone to work with them.

They did a beautiful job.

Primeway movers did a beautiful job with our move. They did everything for us. They even wrapped everything and provided the materials. They are highly skilled and efficient. The best part was that they gave us a very good deal. They were very friendly and polite. We didn’t face any problems with them. They made my move very easy. Thanks.

Long-distance move from Virginia to Florida

Sooo impressive.

Excellent service from the guys at PrimeWay movers! They were punctual, helpful and courteous, made the whole experience look graceful. There is every reason that we would call them for our next move and recommend them to anyone. When we asked for a quote for the move, we had few companies said they wouldn't be able to do the move due to tough parking access and few companies asked very high price, but they made it happen without any complain and within a very reasonable price. They have reached the delivery address very quickly and began unloading as soon as they arrived. No messing around, a great service all together. Thank you!

Long-distance move from Virginia to Louisiana

What Such a professionalisim company.

Just moved from VA to LA, and I must say I am so impressed with everything this company did! From the sweet lady in the office who helped set my price, to the gentleman who came and did the in-home pricing, to the lovely young men who moved my stuff the whole way here.. Wow!! I have never experienced such professionalism from one company in my entire life! To have everything picked up in the time frame they gave me AND delivered in such a timely manner. Oh my goodness.. I truly cannot express how grateful I am that I found this company. Other than a few scratches on my dining room chairs, and on my bed set (all are easy fixes, so I'm not too concerned), my experience with them was incredible. When my daughter moves to Florida this summer, I will make sure she goes with Primeway!! I truly cannot express how amazing this
entire move was for me!! Thank you to everyone at the company that made my experience extraordinary.

Long-distance move from Richmond, VA to Durham, NC

They were truly dependable.

Let me start by saying that I waited for one month to take my decision weather I am going to move or not. Finally I decided to move. It was my first move with my husband. I was happy with Primeway movers. All our items were set up in our new home. The quote was close to the estimate we were provided and the service was great. I appreciate the care they took in our brand new home! They were truly dependable.

My Moving Experience.

I am posting my review again. I have posted three reviews but they keep taking them down. I guess they don’t like people telling the truth about their experience with the moving company. I have tried numerous times to contact them, but they won’t return calls. I did send a memorandum to “12OnYourSide”, hoping they would investigate and show it on their daily news.
Stay away from this company. I am a retired service member with disabilities and was told by the people on the phone they supported the military and even gave discounts for service members. So I contracted them to move me from Virginia to Alabama. I read the reviews and did not see any negative comments so I went them. Their original estimate was higher than other companies but I was told they came in higher and then dropped the price down. They increased their price by almost 50% when they arrived, and they were not on time. The increased their storage fee over $300 after they had the goods in their possession. They offered me “their” additional insurance incase I wanted it. I asked if I really needed it or did they not take care of goods in their possession. They stated they did and I did not take “their” additional insurance. They were late on delivery – two days late and would not return phone calls. They unloaded and hid damages to 4 boxes, most had been marked “Fragile – China”. The only damages/broken items were from those 4 boxes. The damages came to $234.50 (I paid over $7,000 to be moved) but they came back with only wanting to pay $66.00. The reason was because I didn’t take “their” insurance and they were not liable for the other damages. I filed a complaint with the BBB only to get a response from the company that the damages were done while intransit and they were not responsible. Remember they were contracted to move my boxes from Point A to Point B and be responsible for them. I then filed a lawsuit through the Small Claims Court. I gave the court their address from my contract and they mailed the packet by certified mail just to get it returned stating insufficient address. I searched the internet and found another address on their website. The court mailed the packet to that address just to have it returned again for the same reason. I called them (took over 3 days to reach them – they would not return calls). I got lucky and actually spoke to a person who told me that we would have to have the lawsuit served to them. I paid the Sheriff’s department their fee to serve the lawsuit. They elected to not respond to the Court. The court gave them an extra week to respond and then the lawsuit was sent to the County Judge for a decision. The lawsuit was judged to be in my favor, damages plus court costs. This was mailed to them but again they elected to not respond. I was in Virginia for my granddaughter’s graduation and rode to their office. I met someone outside smoking who identified herself as Melissa, the office manager. She would not let me go in the building stating ongoing construction work. We talked for a few minutes and I asked what bank did the company bank with. She named a bank and when I returned to Alabama, I went back to the Small Claims Court and they sent a Letter of Garnishment to the bank and to PrimeWay Movers, just to have it returned stating they had not accounts with this bank.

Long-distance move from Manassas, VA to Sanford, NC

This Company - Poor at Best.

What a Disaster!! Quote from Manassas to Sanford NC was $2300, end total was nearly $5000. They charged extra for wrapping beds, furniture and televisions..they lost all the legs on the bed frames, stole a two drawer tool box with over $1,000 worth of tools, stole a ladder, cooler and damaged almost every piece furniture we own. Ruined a beautiful $3000 china cabinet and hutch and table. To top it off, they were late delivering our goods in North Carolina and left most of the boxes in the garage instead of moving them into the house. Both thugs constantly complained about their bad backs!! This outfit is nothing more than criminal thugs who should be renamed "Two Thugs and a Truck"!! Worst Moving experience ever and I have moved more than 12 times in the military and in civilian life. Save yourself a bunch of grief and run from this company, they should not be in business and will absolutely rip you off!! Grace talks sweet on the phone, but it's all part of the Con!! To top it all off, just got my claim offer from these criminals, 70 dollars?? They are committing felonies without repercussions!! I'm taking my case to DOT!!
