Presto Logistics

-  contracted with Presto Logistics in Dec2013, payment by credit card over phone.  pickup for 26Feb2014
-  we packed all household goods.  there were no appliances at all, nor big items like couches, tables, or any beds.  lived in a 1 bdrm duplex with a small office.  gave complete inventory to representative, henry, & he provided the estimated cubic inches we would have, and cubic inches is how the total cost is derived.
-  contracted also, for one harley davidson motorcycle.  was informed & assured that only professional & knowledgeable movers would handle the motorcycle.
-  movers arrived on time.  so far, so good.  but, on arrival, had to pay 50% of the amount.  this time, my choices were cash, or credit card with a 3% credit card fee additional.  we paid cash.  the additional 3% fee was never discussed.
-  presto's estimate of cubic inches was 1/2 of actual, so, our cost just doubled.  in an attempt to lower costs from full service movers (north american, atlas, united, etc), this just put us over their costs.
-  packing our self boxed inventory into the van went ok.  my wife then noticed a mover taking a power drill to her harley.  he said the windshield needed to be removed & he knew what he was doing.  she immediately sent me out, & I found the mover attempting to remove the front fork with his power drill.  I removed the windshield in 5 seconds by just pulling it out.  after this, we watched the motorcycle loading.  once in the van, the same mover took a large ratchet strap & proceeded to ratchet down the harley into the sidewall of the van.  before I could stop him, he had totally bent the license plate & frame, put a huge gouge in the tank, and destroyed the kick/jiffy stand spring mechanism.  I called henry about this & he assured me no more problems would arise as they drove back to the DFW area.
-  we were told all along, that 3 days minimum to deliver, but that 5 days should be no problem.
-  until delivery, Presto refused to provide any information, except that we would be notified when our goods are re-loaded onto a van for shipment out of DFW.
-  after 2 weeks, we started presistently calling Presto for any information.  same response, nothing.  plus, no one was concerned that it had been over 2 weeks, and no one had contacted us.  the 3rd week was the same.  finally, on day 30, we received shipping information & the driver called, he was already close to us.  upon the arrival of the moving van, even the driver could not believe the shoddy customer support we received.  however, he said it was company policy that he could not even open the van door until he had all the funds in his hand, in cash.  so, 3 different types of payment required throughout the entire process.  we paid him in cash, & our household goods were finally delivered.
-  would never, ever, recommend presto logistics to anyone, based on our personal experience.

AVOID!! Today is April 13. Presto has been holding my shipment like a hostage since they came to pick it up from my home on March 28. I moved to Texas, and when I booked them (and PAID IN FULL), I was told numerous times by different staff members at Presto that Texas is such a regular rout for them, I should receive my shipment in no time. It's been two weeks, and I'm still unable to fully function here waiting for my boxes that include my work desk and files among other items I need for my work.
This is not the only reason they have earned a one star from me. On the day they came to pick up the shipment from my house, they gave me a window between 11am and 1pm. They didn't show up until 7PM that day. I was operating on such a tight schedule, that 7 hours delay really messed up my day. They didn't leave my house before 9:30pm. I chose not to make a big deal out of it back then, even though the staff member who came to my house for the pick up (I think his name was Carlos), kept blaming this 7 hour delay on his other customers, who he had to service that same day before me. I wanted to give Presto the benefit of the doubt, so I said nothing. After such a loooong wait time for my shipment to arrive, I contacted Presto for an update, as this has really started to affect my work here in Texas. Their answer indicated that they still haven't shipped my items from LA after TWO WEEKS. I was so upset to hear this, and that's when I pointed out their incompetency, and reminded them of how they made me wait 7 hours, messed up my entire day back then to pick up my shipment on March 28, only to hear that my stuff are STILL in LA today on April 13!! How great is that? In addition, Daniel sent me an email response doubting my story of the 7 hour delay on the day of the pick up, and basically telling me that I'm lucky for not dealing with the worst company in this industry. WOW! What an unprofessional response! If all of the above doesn't make you the worst in your industry, I don't know what would.

We hired presto based on reviews we read online. I am now convinced that many of their 5 star reviews were written by presto themselves. pros- mostly affordable (we packed our own things, so the materials fee was only an additional $175 when they arrived), we did get our stuff..eventually. none of our stuff was damaged. cons- they picked our stuff up 10/21 and we recieved it 11/26 (we were told at most 3 weeks for delivery- what they really mean is 21-30 days from your first available drop off date that you tell them at pick up, that is what the fine print says). communication was lacking during that time and we started to wonder if we would ever get our stuff (we called three times in that time period and twice never got a call back). the guys that loaded and unloaded our stuff were, um, well rough looking. nice for the most part, but could be considered scary as well. it ended up being around $600 more than quoted.
