Long-distance move from Jupiter, FL to Draper, UT

SCAM ARTIST

Do not use!! The sales rep will assure you a date-this is not true. They have 5-15 business days to get you your stuff so you can be without it for 3 weeks!!!! But don’t worry-you won’t find this out until you give them your deposit. Which by the way...can’t be a credit card. They like account and debit card to avoid extra fees. Then when you call to check when the pick up date will be. They will tell you that delivery date can’t be assured. They when you raise hell about that bc now you don’t know what to do living in an empty house for 3 weeks with your 2 babies and one on the way. They tell you, you can secure the date but now that’s an extra $3500 fee on top of your moving fees. So you ask for your refund back so you can either drive a truck yourself to assure date or find another company that will be honest upfront. Nope-you won’t get your refund back under any circumstances. They are liers, scammers and thieves. They run you around. You’ll talk to Donna and Jessica all day and when you finally talk to Angela-the only person that can refund you. Which btw you’ll need to call like a million times to get Angela-you still won’t get your refund. Which will then lead you to writing as many bad reviews as possible and reporting them to as much boards as possible bc you are so mad and you are now out $1200 which is EVERYTHING after loosing a job due to COVID and the reason for this move in the first place. They have zero heart. Zero compassion and zero morals.

Long-distance move from California to Texas

Six reasons for do not use this company

We moved from California to Texas, 1.- Perennial Van Lines (PVL) promised to move the stuffs in maximum 10 day, took 29 days. 2.- PVL contracts third party movers, this makes the moving with higher cost and dilute responsibility. 3.-PVL gives you an underestimate quote based on volume or weight, just to win the contract. The final cost was 80% higher. 4.- PVL promised that one truck would be used in the move. Finally, my things were transported by several trucks. consequently, several uploads and downloads of my stuffs, with the damages derived from that operation. 5.- Poor handling, a lot things were broken or damage. 6.- The claim was made with evidence, driver report explaining the damage on some Items, photographs and attached all documentation requested. The claim was finally denied.

I would go so far as to say that PVL is a scam and the terrible company to carry out a move, it is better and safer to carry out the move yourself, using a trailer and counting the personnel for loading and unloading. the responsibility rests on oneself and you save 60% of cost.

Long-distance move from Beaver, PA to Indianapolis, IN

Excellent Movers

We relied on Perennial movers again for this recent move. And of course, everything went seamlessly. What a relief, especially when we didn't pack until the night before. The movers came in and took over whatever I left unfinished. They even went so far as to take out trash for us. We'll probably move next year and I won't hesitate to, again, use these guys.

Long-distance move from San Francisco, CA to Tampa, FL

AVOID PERENNIAL AT ALL COSTS

Their sales team will tell you everything you want to hear. You will feel good that you are making a good choice trusting Perennial. They will say this review was written by a jealous competitor. Work with Perennial at your own risk.

Don’t trust anything they say. They don’t massage the truth, they will straight up lie and tell you anything they can to convince you send in a deposit.

The initial quote they provided was comparable to other providers, no problem. Once the move-in date showed up, they loaded the truck and adjusted the quote by 25%. They had a full itemized inventory ahead of time and there were no surprises with my load.

Next, they promised a straight shot delivery. I’m sure you can see where this is going...

They moved all of our stuff to another state and into a storage facility (without my knowledge or approval) and it’s still there today. There is not any estimated delivery date and their support staff is rude and combative. Good luck ever hearing from the sales team after your money is deposited - they block your number or hang up immediately.

Do yourself a favor and stay far far away from Perennial. This company is the most unethical and fraudulent I’ve ever worked with in my life.

Long-distance move from Astoria, OR to Hickory, NC

Great move

I am someone who deal with glass wares and other fragile items as it is my business. I have to deliver items to my customer daily so when one day, my regular mover was unavailable, I call them and had the best moving experience. After this, I am sure I am to going back to my regular mover. My customers were really happy as everything arrived in one piece.

Long-distance move from Concord, NC to Cape Coral, FL

I will not use perennial ever again

I will not use perennial ever again. I had a wonderful sales associate who sold me a move. The problem is, the package he sold me wasn’t actually how things turned out. First, they claim a glitch in the system that moved my moving date back on the updated booth dates I requested. I was picked up a day and a half late With the “they would be there between eight and noon. I was the first stop and they did not show up until noon. It was four hours with two adults and two children under 18.

I was told my items would be delivered in 2 to 3 days by Larry, the carrier tells me 2 to 7 business days. When I spoke with management a perennial about my experience they did nothing. They offered nothing in terms of reimbursement, they could not expedite my belongings being shipped.

The van line that the company contracted with offered to expedite my items for two to $3000. Had I’ve been told it was 2 to 7 days I would’ve scheduled to pick up a week earlier..

I had to embark on a 10 Hour Rd. trip to my final destination 4 hours behind schedule. I had to contact perennial over half a dozen time to get answers and speak with management. Twice I was told that they would be calling me back, twice I had to call them back hours later.

An already stressful experience was made into an absolute horrid experience

Long-distance move from Boston, MA to Phoenix, AZ

Poor communication

MASS to AZ.

No communication, rude customer service, only good thing was the sales guy Larry but once signed the contract and paid, you mean nothing to them. I have been very patient and friendly in all my communication until speaking with customer service person after 14 days. I would never recommend. When they say it can take up to 20 days, you can expect longer than that with no communication. So frustrating.

Long-distance move from Poplar Bluff, MO to Cresco, PA

Bait and Switch

This company is all about getting you to sign with them with a very reasonable rate.

The salesman told me everything I wanted to hear. He assured me of white glove service. My husband and I went room to room and gave him detailed information as to the contents of our home. I believe that he omitted much of it to have a lower bid. He also told us that they would move rifles and shotguns at 40 lbs per gun.

Over time, our move went up 13K. They jobbed us out to a cut rate moving company that charged us another 5K. For a 5 bedroom home, they appeared after a days wait with one 26 foot Budget Rental truck, with no lift gate. At that time, the driver knew we could not fit in that truck. His company, Road to Load Best Movers told my husband there was more crew and another truck in reserve. There was no such thing. They had to find another truck which took a 3 hour drive. They were at our home from Sunday afternoon to late Tuesday evening when 95% of the house was packed. They also informed us they would not move any firearms.

We had to leave items behind as they wouldn't fit and the trucks did not have a lift gate. I had specific items "packed" and it was items thrown into a box with no packing. My spice cabinet was thrown into a box with things spilling, breaking and an open container of corn starch infiltrated the entire box. I had pictures with packing tape all over the front and the back of them. In one box, several framed pictures were simply stacked one on top of the other with no packing material. My stained glass chandelier was in the bottom of a box with lamp shades over the top of it.

We tried contacting Perennial multiple times over the moving weekend, left messages and they did not answer nor return calls.

Perennial has had 3 weeks to offer some kind of restitution to us and has failed.

They originally charged us by weight. The company that picked us up charged by cubic feet. They overcharged us as to the capacity of the trucks. Perennial is aware of all this, and has done nothing.

Perennial has a vested interest in getting paid and not customer service.

This was a 1000 mile move. We have much experience with moving across the country, and nothing prepared me for this debacle.

There was no inventory taken of our items or their condition. The driver on delivery provided an inventory, which was just what he had told Perennial. There were no moving stickers put on any items. I paid extra for my grandfather clock and piano to be moved. The movers asked if we had gloves to take the chimes out of the clock. They did not put it back together. My husband and son helped them both load and unload the piano as they were unable to take care of it.

I cannot tell you enough how unhappy we are with this experience.

I could have contacted Mayflower or Bekins and gotten great service for much less than this mess. I will never do business with either company again.

Long-distance move from New York, NY to Breckenridge, CO

Unfortunate I have to give even one star

I hired Perennial Van Lines to assist with my move from Brooklyn, NY to Breckenridge, CO back in November of 2020. This was my first mistake. This company is a broker, not an actual moving company. They take your money and then pass along your business to a completely unaffiliated moving company. Every single part of this move has been absolute hell. My pick-up date was miscommunicated and I had to have a friend facilitate the moving van since my flight had already departed Brooklyn. Instead of taking 7-10 business days for my shipment to arrive, I waited 63 days with no clear communications or expectation setting from either of the moving companies. When my furniture finally arrived, the driver claimed I would be charged a separate fee to drive down my driveway for the delivery. I personally loaded up the boxes and furniture in my car to avoid these ridiculous surcharges. When I was able to take account of my delivery, I realized that EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF FURNITURE was either damaged or missing. Yes, you read that correctly. Not a single item was delivered intact. Thousands of dollars worth of furniture destroyed. I submitted a move claim shortly thereafter and expected to be reimbursed for the damages. Today, eight months later, I received an adjustment summary for $36. This is daylight robbery. I am so disgusted by the customer service and handling of this business every step of the way. DO. NOT. USE. THIS. COMPANY. Unless you want to pay a ridiculous amount of money to have all of your things destroyed.

Long-distance move from Kaibito, AZ to Sandy, UT

Honestly the best company I have ever used

They were reasonably priced and very professional. The crew that we had went over and above to ensure our move went well. They were on time and worked extremely hard and everything was in perfect condition when it arrived. They made a very stressful situation a lot easier and did everything they could to help us. All in all a wonderful experience and I would recommend them.
