Pay Less Moving, LLC

Moved in 2021.

I was quoted for $750 for 3 guys, everything was supposedly included. I was moving 5 miles down the road.I had everything in boxes already. When they showed up the guy in charge said that they needed an extra guy to be able to do the moving. They took all day to move my things (9am to 8pm) when I was given the final bill I noticed that it was rewritten all over and now totaled $1,200 , the guy even had the audacity to write down the tip amount he wanted! …. Im a single mom, I just wanted them out of my house so I paid. The next morning I call the owner but no response. A few days later he left me a voice mail taking no responsibility whatsoever. Awful ripoff. I will No hire this company again.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1200

I decided to go with this company because they were the lowest price. I called them and they quoted me for $1200 from NJ to NV. I asked all the basic questions I can think of. They told me that the cover .60 per pound if damaged. I also asked if $1200 was my total cost and if there was anything else I would be paying for. They said NO. $1200 covered everything. They did tell me that the only thing I would pay extra for is if the movers had to use their supplies which I understood.

Come moving day which was August 14, 2015. They told me they would arrive at my home between 8AM-10AM. They arrived at exactly 8AM which was a good sign. But as soon as they came in it started to go downhill. I pretty much packed all my stuff so I knew what was in what box and so I felt secure with my valuables. My TV was wrapped around a thick blanket. They decided to wrap it themselves. My vacuum was also something that thought need to be wrapped. They decided to pack 4 boxes. I said fine. When it came time for them to finalize everything, the guy showed me my bill and it came out to $1500 and some change. I could not believe it. They were charging me $90 in fuel fee. That made me upset because I had no idea I would be paying a Gas fee. When I first called the company they never mentioned that!! When it came time for them to leave the guy said "So are you going to give us a tip?". I look at him with disbelief and said "Okay hold on" because my wallet was in my room. I decided to give a $30 tip because there were 3 workers. So I figured $10 each. As soon as I handed it to him he said "Can you give a little more?". I went back to my room and got $10 more. So I gave them a total of $40 tip. Call me a pushover but I hate confrontation of any kind. My Mother and friend were in the same room when it happened and heard everything. As soon as they left you can believe I called the company and complained about it. The guy on the phone said he would take the $40 out of my moving price. I also gave him an ear full about the fuel fee because when I first called they specifically said I would only be paying $1200.

Come arrival day. It took them two weeks to deliver to Nevada which is what they told me would me. So it was good. This time it was 2 guys who delivered. We live in a 2 story house. The guys asked where we wanted them to put everything. We asked if they can put some stuff upstairs and they said "We can bring it upstairs but it will be an extra cost". I look at them again with disbelief and said never mind you can leave it at the door. They moved everything in and told us to check to check if we had everything. By everything they mean opening every box and checking. Luckily my mom noticed I was missing my vacuum and a little mini Irish bar that was given to me when my Grandma passed away. They went back on the truck to get it. What I didn't know is that my stuff would be delivered on a track with other peoples stuff. The thing to is that my stuff was pushed to a corner. I guess that is there way of separating things. You would thing there would of been a wall or something to separate it but no! So then I said "So if something is missing or broken is covered under warranty right?". He then says "Only the items the company packed is covered under warranty this is why you need to check now." That shocked me even more because when I called the first time they said everything was covered under warranty. I got so fed up I said "Fine everything is okay". They left and I did not bother leaving a tip!

Now come December 2015 I realized that one box is missing because there were two items I couldn't find. A Blanket I got from my father when he traveled to Hong Kong which was the blanket I used to wrap the TV the first time and some work out weights I got from my Grandmother when she passed away. Those two items were thrown into a box that the company packed. I call the company thinking it would be covered because they packed it and my understanding is warranty only covers the items they packed! A representative tells me that since its been 3 months that there is nothing they can do. I said "Well isn't there a lost and found?". He tells me "There is nothing in the lost and found"! I hung up and just cannot believe this company is still in business!

My boxes were labeled "5". So what do you do with boxes that don't get delivered to the owner? You keep it? They don't even bother calling you to let you know! If my box didn't get delivered to me it should be in a lost and found!

They are scam artists, bullies and overall a nasty bunch  - in short they scheduled for 8am to clentch the busness & pacify us and then they showed up at 4;30pm and stated that they could have just cancelled but wanted to do the job but now they regret it . They said "either way you would complain .. so what do I get back in the truck and go home ? Once that unpleasntness was over they found , created , fabricated a new dilema . They stated that they would not take our things related to a box issue. To illustrate this better 60% of the apartment contents were already out of the house either in the driveway or garage , 2 dressers, 1 of 2 desks , 4 lamps 4 nighttables, 3 end table 1 loveseat, 2 sofas, 2 king size mattresses ,a childs bed ) The clailmed that my boxes were too small( (these were LOWES MEDIUM & LARGE BOXES) and would thrash around making for dangerous driving condintion and increasea risk to my things so .. they would seel me boxes to rectify the problem and we were lucky they sell for 16$ but they would take a few dollars off  . The worst part was they made it clear that nothing was going to be moved until they were bought and re-pakaged or we always had the option of calling a closed office and reschedulong the move. Pleased keep in mind this occured ON jUNE 29 I had to be moved out by July 1st . THey took the long way around back in NY while already on the right side of the GW bridge  which took them 45 minutes more plus toll ocost .. then they got stuck at the bottom of the driveway ( they truck had a loading platform .. ) so they were unable to delivery and had to wait for a towtruck they left with my thing s back tpo Brooklyn . They then wanted me to pay for the truck and the round trip back to their truck area and the labor to unload and switch trucks this bill was 1600$ total which would mean I would owe them 1000$ more . ive tried to contact them 6 time now they just hang up and on one occasion he stated " I threw that stuff out ".  I am going to call NEWS12 ROCKLAND COUNTY !! Our whole life was in that truck! All our daughter's baby pictures clothes, our  computers , our wedding pictures, our coats ,clothes , unform , diplomas , kitchen apppliances , artwork from when my family lived in Gabon , Kaplan review textbooks that cost me 500$ . .

3 men showed up at our home in Camp Hill PA. with a huge tall truck on Tuesday morning at 11:30.  I was told they would be there between 11 & 12. I went over the move in detail with the foreman. Our move had 5 stops in New Jersey as we were downsizing and dropping off furniture at our kids homes and some things at our new store. Together we decided to label major rooms and items with the address of each drop off pt. They packed and loaded everything in 5 hrs and we agreed to meet at the first stop in Maywood NJ at 9:30 the next morning and at 9:31 they were there. We then stopped in Paramus, Old Tappan and my daughter's in North Vale. The final stop was at our new condo also in North Vale. Everything was off loaded and the furniture was placed and replaced where my wife told them. They had to change things around quite a bit since my wife kept changing her mind. They were just great the entire time. The move was virtually perfect. I did find a scratch on my old desk and some of the tape they used left marks that had to be cleaned off, and all in all way better then we expected. The best part is that they were $1,000.00 less than the next moving bid. They charged exactly what I was quoted and needless to say I presented each mover with a nice tip. I would recommend them to anyone moving between PA and NJ  .

This is the 2nd time we used this moving company.  Back in July, we moved our Mom's furniture into storage.  The guys were no nonsense and moved the furniture very quickly.  There was no damage to any of the items.  I thought they were a little expensive for 3.5 hours plus packing charges at $625.00.  We also gave each guy a $40.00 tip because they were so careful.  I was so happy with them and just tried to use them again to move my son back to school in the Bronx.  They said that they don't go to the Bronx!  .
