Palmieri Movers

Be VERY CAREFUL with these people! Having relocated several times we have become very knowledgeable as to the do's and don'ts of the whole process. Palmieri employes are polite, hardworking, and seem to care about your "stuff" as much as you do. What's the problem? It's all an act. After 35+ years of working we had managed to collect a large quantity of fine and very pricy antiques and furniture. Yep, we did everything right, paid extra for the best insurance, $900.00, FULL REPLACEMENT VALUE. Paid extra to have Palmieri pack all the items, $6291.00, declared the value of each item and even gave them rolls of bubble wrap, purchased out of our pockets, which they declined to use.
Not done yet, when Palmieri unloaded my husband and I worked like dogs to open all the boxes that day in front of the driver and crew. There is a small paragraph that states if the boxes are not unpacked and inspected by a Palmieri employee, they will not assume any responsibility for damage.
So, after having a good cry I dried my tears, filled out the insurance form, overnighted all the documentation to Palmieri, and waited 6 months. When the check did come, I had another good cry. The check, not from an insurance company but from Palmieri, was in the amount of 10% of my claim.
NO RETURN PHONE CALLS. The only answer I have received from Palmieri is "I don't know", exactly 8 times and one made up reason why, "the boxes weren't damaged".

Service cost: $19

I tried to find a long haul mover but all the big names had so many poor reviews, and even worse prices. Then I was referred to Palmieri for long haul moving by Rob @ Varsity Movers a great local mover in NJ. Palmieri was reasonably priced and substantally less than the big names. They showed up for the move on time. There were no surprise fees at the end. Nothing was broken or damaged during the move. However, 25% of our stuff did not arrive in FL. Palmieri quickly discovered by reviewing their warehouse videos that one of the large warehouse containers contents was not shipped to us. Amazingly, they loaded and sent another truck + 2 man crew to FL within 24 hours of discovering the oversight. They drove straight thru from NJ to FL and we got our stuff the next day! I was amazed, and impressed. I would use them again in a heartbeat. This is the most responsive and caring mover ever. Thanks Guys!

Move size: 4+ Bedroom Home Service cost: $6500

Had 3 movers come and move me out of my home yesterday. Not only did they arrive on time, but they packaged and moved all my furniture carefully as if their own, and super quickly and efficiently. I thought I would have to rent another storage unit in addition to my 10x20 unit and they managed to organize my belongings using every single bit of space while taking great care of my furniture. Saved me money in having to rent another unit. These are the best movers I’ve had out of 4 experiences with movers. Hands down. No need to look elsewhere.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2000

I used this company twice before. Was very happy with their services. Quotes were reasonable and honored once the moves were completed. However, this last time, (5/2020) they were horrible! Quoted me $1800 (which was comparable to what they charged me when they moved me to Warren) but once they actually moved us in (to Bridgewater: a 15 minute drive) the price doubled. The guy in charge said it was because our “driveway was steep”. Um. Ok. The truck went up the driveway no problem. Not like they parked below and brought pieces up the driveway. Then, they damaged two pieces of my very expensive furniture. The guy says, “oh just use Elmers glue”. In addition, they set up my bed frame incorrectly...I noticed because the new mattress started sagging. So annoyed at this!!! Overall, the guys they use are great but the guy in charge definitely took advantage of us! Finally, what’s with the receptionist? So snarky! If you don’t like to answer calls, get another job!

* I know this review is almost a year later but I saw their truck this morning and it triggered me!
