Long-distance move from Springfield, VA to Gilbert, AZ

Worst Moving Company.

Paid over $15k to Long Distance Relocation Services for a move from VA to AZ in June 2018. We had to assist the origin movers because they were running behind, they also re-adjusted the price quoted several times after our belongings had already been loaded.
Once our stuff arrived in AZ the movers attempted to unload items that did not belong to us and I had to inform the movers that the items did not belong to us. We had several items broken due to poor packing to include my daughter's loft bed I submitted a claim form for the broken items in July after waiting the advised time-frame for them to process the claim as stated in the paperwork they informed me I had to sign a release for the funds which I did, it is now January 2019 and I have not seen payment I have tried contacting their claim office and left several messages with no return response.
Do not use this company for your move unless you want to end up with your belongings broken and fighting a claim.

Long-distance move from Sacramento, CA to San Antonio, TX

Unprofessional, disorganized.

There are two main reasons for my negative review of this company. The first was the lack of professionalism on the part of the moving team that delivered our household items to our new location. The foreman was very abrasive, rude, and disrespectful throughout the move. The contract that we signed stated that the full moving service that we were paying for included having the movers move labeled boxes into the appropriate rooms in the house and well as included basic disassembly/reassembly of furniture. The foreman became upset when we started directing the movers carrying the boxes into the appropriate rooms in the house and told us that they were only required to leave all of our items in the main room of the house. My wife asked for help reassembling a bed frame and 2 bookshelves that the company had disassembled as part of the move. The foreman refused. When my wife told him that the contract we signed included basic disassembly/reassembly of furniture, the foreman said “Woman, you just have a bad attitude and expect everyone to do everything for you. You must have something messed up in your head.” When he said this he raised his voice to a level that frightened my 1 year old daughter and made her cry.

After the foreman had finished shouting at my wife for having a bad attitude and having something messed up in her head, he told us to sign the bill of laden, which we reluctantly did, after he said “I am leaving right now whether you sign it or not. If you don’t sign it you will get no weight tickets, no receipt, no nothing.” The behavior of this foreman was bad enough that after the moving team had left, one of the other movers came back to apologize for the unprofessional way the foreman had treated us and said that he would be happy to vouch for us if we made a complaint to the company. When we talked to customer service about our experience with this particular foreman, they listened and recorded our complaint but no apologies were offered and no attempt to make any kind of amends were ever made. The disrespectful way that this foreman treated my wife and daughter in my home and the disregard for this behavior on the part of the company definitely says something about how much they value their customers. All this is more than reason enough for me to never recommend this company to anyone, and to never trust them with my business again.

In addition to the disrespectful, unprofessional way we were treated in our home by this company’s foreman, they showed a disappointing lack of competence and organization in providing me with the documentation for my move. As an active duty military member, I am required to provide weight tickets and receipts when the military transfers me to a different location in order for the military to reimburse me for the move. I made this known to Long Distance Relocation Services before I paid the deposit for the move, and they assured me that they had a lot of experience moving military members and that they would promptly provide the weight tickets and receipts necessary for me to get reimbursed for the move by the military. The foreman did not provide us with a copy of the weight tickets nor the bill of laden when our items were delivered. It took over a month of me calling the company twice a week or more before I finally got copies of the weight tickets. It has now been almost 2 and a half months and I still do not have a copy of the bill of laden, which I need for reimbursement for my move. This has severely delayed my reimbursement from the military and has put our family in a difficult financial situation due to this company’s inability to provide us with documentation for the move in a timely manner.

Do not trust this company to move your household items, especially if you are military personnel doing a personally procured move. Their lack of respect and professionalism and their inability to provide documentation is evidence of their disregard for their customers.

Local move within South Carolina

Horrible Company! Would give lower rating if I could!

The first quote we received was $6466.00, then it was increased to $8145.45 because they had “left out certain items” which we did tell them about. Then the day of the move, AFTER our items were packed onto the truck, they inform us the final price was $16767.50!

The movers showed up a day early to our house, so we were scrambling to get the last of our things packed up - finally just conceding and paying the extra fee for them to complete the pack..this proved to be a "so-so" decision. Our closing now had been pushed by 2 weeks and of course they could store our stuff, but it would be an additional $2,800.

The price of the move doubled (even without the packing) from the original quote. We had clothes and a piano that we didn't tell them about (by the way, we did). But what are we going to do, have them take the things already on the truck off and then find another mover in a few hours?? Lesson learned, ALWAYS READ THE 30 pages of fine print associated with a long distance move and ALWAYS get a not to exceed price. So, you get the picture….Classic bait and switch!!

W called let them know that we couldn't start unloading until late, or Saturday. But, when I finally got someone to talk to me, they acted like they never even knew that they were to be there Friday. By the way, "we aren't loading your items until Monday afternoon"! WHAT!! Nope, our stuff wasn't going to get there until Tuesday at 3:00.

Now, I'm back on the phone with Paula. Need to talk about the price of the move and the fact that our stuff didn't arrive as agreed upon. Long Distance Movers response: I should just be glad that they worked with us and didn't charge full price for the remaining packing since they came a day early. They provided the bank the request information regarding storing our property - duh! Of course they did, they wanted PAID. At that point, I knew I was fighting a losing battle. They had mastered holding people's property hostage and out of fear of your stuff being damaged beyond use, you concede.

So, Tuesday finally arrives. The movers promptly show up at 3:00, with a crew of, wait for it, TWO men! Yes, two men. They had 6 when they loaded up the house but sent 2 to unload us. Thursday, there are some things that I needed to take a look at..Broken top and glass on the barristers bookcase, busted floor lamp, two boxes of breakables that looked like they had been hit with a bat or run over by a car.. Of course, we can file a claim and get compensation..RIGHT. Just get out of my house!!

5/23/2018: Claim filed
8/23/2018: $600.00 “Resolution” offer received
8/27/2018: Contacted Long Distance Movers with no response
10/4/2018: Long Distance Movers FINALLLY responds
10/10/2018: Long Distance Movers can only offer $600

1/6/2019: Contacted Long Distance Movers with NO RESPONSE
1/9/2019: Contacted Long Distance Movers with NO RESPONSE

Horrible company, customer service, people and experience! Would never recommend them for anything! This terrible experience has lasted almost a year with no resolution in site.

Long-distance move from Munster, IN to Fort Myers, FL

Move from chicago to florida.

Horrible. Horrible horrible. Just about everything that others experienced. No respect. Non professionalism. They do not stand by their words and horrible customer service. They picked up our stuff on two diff trucks. Our stuff stood in warehouse for 2 months before it was delivered. 5-6 lost boxes and wet mattresses. One lost item was irreplaceable. My daughters school medals and trophies They show no compassion. Tons of stuff was damaged and they reimbursed us $130. I would never recommend these people and would stop someone from iusing them. Already spreading the word.

Long-distance move from Riverview, FL to Niles, OH

I will not get these movers again.

I would not get these people again. The movers were not careful how they packed lamp shades, broke the arm on the lamp, and on my tripod camera holder broke the slider that it could move up or down on, broke 2 wheels on my dinning room buffet table. Never, Never, again, also didn't figure the whole total move correct, and had me pay for extra u-haul truck so the could haul it to there main truck because they couldn't get in my apt. complex. Why didn't they know that from the beginning. Never, again I am a senior citizen, what a rip off. I had to fix things my self. they said I had to get the papers notarize. A lot of work, I would have to get a lawyer.

Long-distance move from Baltimore, MD to Los Angeles, CA

All the 5-star reviews are fake.

Notice the standard moving scam practice they use. Every real review (they are all one-star) is followed by an avalanche of fake five-star reviews. Don't risk it. Don't use this scam company.

Long-distance move from Richmond, VA to Carlisle, PA

Thumbs up every time.

We used this company a couple of years ago and decided to use them again on the move back. As before, the movers did a great job and knew their roles very well. Their professionalism is one of the main reasons this company is so good. From the office to the movers.
