Let's Get Moving

They advertised a minimum payment of $500 for 3 hours. After paying my deposit of $100 I was expecting $450 dollars for moving to a 1-bedroom apartment a distance of 15 min. We made sure that they only moved the heavy equipment that we couldn’t move, to try and minimize our expenses as much as possible. In the end, they took up exactly 3 hours (from 9:30 to 12:30), and we didn’t tell them anything. They charged us $655 in cash for 4 hours that somehow, they insisted they need to add on! They also ensured that some of our property was left in their truck, and would not move them out until we paid them $655. After making our payment, then they moved our stuff out of the truck. You are expected to trust them, but they don’t trust you. With our $100 deposit, the actual cost was $755 dollars for about 10 items. Had we let them move everything into our small 1-bedroom apartment, it would have cost us $1500!! Watch out for these scammers!

Overall, this was a great choice for our family. The pricing model is slightly different than most moving companies in the GTA, but the final cost was competitive and really great value for the speediness and professionalism our three movers provided throughout the day. While you will be flooded with communications from the company prior to your move, you have to give credit to their consistency and accessibility. They obviously want to make the experience as smooth as possible.

My entire experience with Let's Get Moving and its service providers has been positive from start to finish. Justin C was the customer service representative who assisted me with my estimate over the phone. He was very professional and made me feel confident about my decision to hire movers. On the day of the move, all 3 movers worked so carefully and efficiently to get my furniture and personal belongings from Toronto to Whitby. I appreciate the customer service phone calls that I received before and after the move. Overall, I am impressed with Let's Get Moving and would recommend them to anyone in the future. Honestly the best moving company we've ever used. The moving consultant was extremely helpful when booking over the phone. He was able to give us a realistic idea of how many people would be needed and their rate after discussing the size of our apartment and the amount of furniture we had. He even gave us a little managers discount. We had a 3 bedroom apartment on the top floor of a 4 story walk up with a large terrace and storage room. Needless to say it was not an easy job. The movers were prompt, very friendly and ALL pulled their weight. The lead mover wrapped all our furniture in shrink wrap while the other two began loading the truck. The team did a great job at communicating their plan to move things along efficiently. We were able to finish our move in a shorter time than anticipated even with the long commute from Toronto to Alliston. I would highly recommend these guys.

Our three movers were very professional and courteous. They brought all the moving accessories we needed: wraps, cling wrap, floor runners, ropes. And were efficient too. Their truck is HUGE and well-kept. And they have a basic protection plan that comes with what you pay for—which I hope we can use for the scratch that we saw on our baby’s crib after moving. In terms of cost, they charge 70 dollars for gym equipment (even the relatively light ones like our portable treadmill and aeropilates machine) so my husband had to haul those separately. You also can’t refund your $113 deposit so you have to be 100pc sure you’re going with them before you book their service. Also for budgeting purposes, note that they charge full price even for the drive back to their office. Finally, customer service is very responsive. I’d highly recommend them if they’re within your budget!

We recently moved from east Toronto to outside of the GTA -- Let's Get Moving had come highly recommended by a friend who had done a similar move and we're very glad that we went with the recommendation! We had three fantastic movers who took great care of our things. They packed efficiently and were very thorough and communicative. Moving is always a stressful process but the team at Let's Get Moving helped to calm the nerves and ensure everything was taken care of. We most certainly could not have done the move without them!

Our family of 4 moved from Milton to Ottawa at the end of August. After reviewing several moving companies we ended up choosing Let's get moving, due in part because of the excellent reviews online, the information they provided when I spoke to them on the phone, and the price they quoted me for packing and the move (which was quite competitive). They were able to walk me through the entire process and leading up to the move, sent us helpful emails on what to expect.

I have used moving companies in the past, but this was the first time I had experienced a truly stress-free move. The packing service was outstanding. The actual move was flawless. Our movers were professional and courteous and worked extremely efficiently. In the end, our final price was even less than quoted.
