Konami Moving and Storage

I am one of the many duped by salesman Chris at Konami movers. He's great at sales but same as everyone else I fell for his false statements. They do not care about you or your situation. They will not keep promises, they don't give a crap about you, your stuff, your situation or any coordinating you will try and do with them. The guys who picked up my stuff were polite and did a great job. No complaints. But the office staff were all mostly unprofessional. I will say I had one good short moment with Karen when I actually started to cry.

I was trying to save money so I learned my lesson. These guys ARE a broker even though Chris sold it as a family owned and run business. I know they are NOT because the movers who delivered to Philly for me had never spoken to anyone at Konami or even heard of the company.

Also, my son had to rent a uhaul truck and drive an hour to meet the 18 wheeler with his stuff. They let us know after the money w as paid that they could not drive the truck on his street.

Oh,here's a positive. I was dealing with a Sean for one or two things and when I tried to call him back, he at least let me know he was no longer working there.

I am going to contact the BBB.

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: $1200

These people are pure EVIL!! I called looking to move for work and they assured me they were the primary mover. Said that they did not pass it off to another party which is a total lie! They said they would not charge for extra and they promised me a 10 day timeline. The totally bait and switched and the cost doubled! I EVEN rented my own Uhaul after I found out that they may not deliver my stuff for 30 days. They still double charged me and destroyed my stuff that was moved all over their peice of [EDIT] warehouse. They demand cash on the dropoff and it is because they know your stuff is trashed and late and they hold your stuff hostage until they get cash, so you won't cancel your payment. They were 3 days late picking up my stuff and called me at 10:15 PM to say they were dropping my stuff off the nexty day - no 12 - 24 hour notice as promised! They also have a raquet of saying they need a shuttle to off load the big truck to drop off for an extra charge. Tiffany who mangaes the call center is a totally rude and condescending [EDIT]! She deserves to rot in hell! These people are horrible people - I am in customer service and would be fired if I treted clients this way. Please save yorusefl the heartache and use 1-800-Pods or Uhaul.

I wish I could give them a NEGATIVE 5 stars! Not only it was nearly impossible to get ahold of the dispatch or even get a date to when my things were suppose to be delivered. The customer service people are so rude and unprofessional as well. It took them 2 months get my stuff deliver. Then when it was finally delivered they had so many of my items missing. They didn’t take responsibility for losing a huge box of my clothing. To top it off it was all my professional work clothing and dresses they stole. I doubt they lost it. They didn’t want to pay me back for my lost items and said I gave yo take it as a loss. I literally paid this company $1500 to get robbed! DO NOT DO business with this company!

When we sat down to write our experience down for a police report in its entirety, it came out to be four pages long. We can't fit all of our excruciating details into this review. But in short, feel we were not prioritized as customers, but instead they created our move schedule for us. They overcharged us and held our items hostage. They didn’t know where our items were, and when they did, they couldn’t tell us when they would be delivered. We couldn’t reach out to anyone in the company when we needed to. Our money was stolen out of our checking account. They neglected information that would project an accurately estimated price. Our most valuable belongings were rummaged through and stolen. Our privacy felt invaded and we felt violated. We were forced to live in an empty apartment, sleeping on the floor. We were forced to make purchases we didn’t need to. We are in debt because of Konami Moving and Storage. We trusted Konami Moving and Storage for our first move ever, and they took advantage of us.
We wrote this letter and compiled evidence in the hopes that this company will not take advantage of any potential future customers. If you value your time, money, possessions, sense of security, or overall well-being, stay as far away from Konami Moving and Storage as you possibly can! They shouldn't even have a rating! Horrible customer service! Horrible employees! It was a complete nightmare in which we still have to work through today. They need to shut down completely!

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3692

A couple of the things wouldn't have been that big of a deal, but they started adding up real quick! Our pickup date got pushed back. Multiple miscommunications on their end about timing. They don't answer the phone number(s) they provide for you. They originally told us that "weight wasn't an issue and to utilize space" so we filled our coolers and safe and cabinets with stuff, but were told upon arrival that everything had to be removed and repacked in boxes, which changed how much space we needed and our stuff wouldn't fit on their truck anymore. They wouldn't load suitcases or duffel bags with stuff in it. (I guess I can understand that, but COMMUNICATION IS KEY!!) My husband had to remove all our items off the truck by himself and they drove away without any further communication. I have tried calling and emailing over the past couple of days to no avail. I guess I'm saving myself the headache of working with a company that isn't trustworthy, but I'm not sure that's worth the $509 deposit they charged me!!

When you're packing up your beloved belongings and moving them cross country, you want to find a company you can trust with your stuff. They are NOT that company. They may quote you a cheaper price than competitors up front, but I promise you the headache and the lies and the extra fees they try to sneak in there will add up quicker than you think!!

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1800

Konami is the most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with (and the brokers they subcontract with). They are hired by scammer “brokers” who misrepresent their role in the transaction. When Konami shows up, they will convince you to sign a new contract, contrary to your agreement with the broker. If you don't sign their new contract, they will threaten you that you will lose your deposit. In my situation, they alleged that the inventory list from my binding contract was not the list that was sent to them and then demanded significantly more money to take my items. Worst of all, they refused to take my essential items, including my refrigerator, washing machine and four flat screen TV’s. The broker promised to have my items delivered by 5/29/20. It is now 7/22/20 and Konami still has my entire life’s possessions in some storage in Las Vegas. The worst, most emotionally draining experience of my life.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $5000

I booked a move from Utah to Iowa. Dates and times were set and they did not show up three times for various reasons. I had paid a deposit of $1075. The 4th attempt the driver was 4 hours away. My landlord had moved all of my belongings into the parking lot. I had to rent a uhaul truck. The driver said he'd be there by 10:00pm. Too late. They refused to return my money claiming I broke the contract by not waiting for their driver. I believe they broke the contract by not showing up 3 times. Very rude. BTW I just checked their website they don't even operate out of IT or Iowa. Lesson learned. Do not use this company. They are also fishy as they operate a gaming business in Los Vegas, NV.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2875

Initially spoke with Jessica regarding pick up. Asked for delivery by August 30/September 1st. She checked with manager and said that our pickup date should give an estimated delivery date of that time. This is the only reason we went with a moving company instead of doing the rent a truck/move on our own in the first place. She heavy advised me against another moving company due to bad reviews.

Was initially quoted for much less items because we though we would get rid of a lot. Then started thinking about how much it would be to replace everything so decided to keep more.

Did final walk through with Nikki on 8/23 over the phone and was quoted $3300. Walked around with measuring tape to give her dimensions of things, including boxes. Even asked about keeping a few larger items off (mattresses) to lessen cost, it only dropped by about $100 so we decided to keep them on.

Had to keep calling to get a pickup time frame - was told on 8/23 pick up would be between 12-2 on 8/24 called at 1:30 on 8/24 to find out where my truck was, was delayed until 4-6pm. Called at 5:10pm - could not get ahold of anyone, was never updated that a driver wasn’t coming. Called the next morning 8/25 and was told there was a truck 30 minutes away and I was the next stop with a pickup time between 10-12, was called back and told they dispatched a different truck and I was the first pickup on that truck estimated 12-2. Finally talked with the truck driver to find out I was not his first stop so update pick up moved until 2-4. Talked with again and found out new estimated time was 4-6. Finally arrived at 6:20pm and wasn’t finished loading up until 11:00pm. Gave the original “managers discount” offered of $300 but the price jumped from $3300 to $4600.

They arrived so late and had no light so I had to sit in my car with the lights on. Tried to turn on my car and the battery had died. So then sat there with it running for almost an hour.

I didn’t know about the 30 day thing until I signed something about it with the movers. He told me, they say 30 days but it never takes them that long you should have it in 7-14 days.

9/10 - told that our stuff was scheduled to be loaded over the weekend and we would get it 3-7 business days after that.

9/15 - talked with Lily- was frustrated and upset. Told our stuff wouldn’t be picked up until it was scheduled “on the manifest” which wouldn’t be until the middle of the following week.

9/15 - spoke with Cici about picking up our belongings personally in Las Vegas. Was directed to send an email to request it. Never got a response.

When calling the company I have been repeatedly put on hold on to have the call ended 10-20 minutes later.

9/19 - filed claim with DOT online form

“Based on our review of the information provided we have determined that we do not have primary oversight and the appropriate venues are the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and the local courts.”

9/21 - received a call saying my stuff is being loaded on a truck today and tomorrow and would be receiving it in 2-5 days then was told that is incorrect and would be receiving it in 4-7 days.

Everything we went through and we only received a $100 discount.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $4600

This company has a cool $1075 deposit of mine. They didn't show up three times. By the time they were supposedly going to show up on the fourth day, my apartment contents were in the parking lot, I had been evicted.. At 5:00pm still no communication. I had to rent a Uhaul in the middle of the covid lock down. I was told I broke the contract by not waiting for the driver. The driver was down in Blueberry UT, there is no such place. The way I see it they broke the contract 4 times. When I could get them on the phone they were so rude like I was bothering them. suggestion: Do Not Call KONAMI.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2875

Konami was sent to us by Moving Pro US. The booking company couldn't find the moving van and told us they didn't know where our stuff was. Then we were told it was in a warehouse in las Vegas. Then they didn't know again, but wanted 18k. For what? Dec 2020 till today, may 8, 2021, we still have no idea where our stuff is. We've had to buy new furniture and household items and have had to go into debt. They contacted us recently to tell us "the truck is on the way, you owe us 10k". Seriously? Everything we own was taken by them. We have a new 3000 ft house and no furniture. Karen keeps telling us we have a zero balance, then asks for 10,000.00. It's ridiculous and maddening. We have to pay an attorney now to try and get back what Moving Pro US and Konami Moving stole from us over 5 months ago.

Worse company in the world! Will bait and switch and threaten you if you complain. Moved in large truck with others. NOT a deal. Will charge after getting your valuables. Took two weeks longer. After charging twice as much as quoted, got eight blocks away snd said they couldn’t drive down our street. Complete lie. Called police. No city hall said it wasn’t true. Said they would rent a uhaul and bring for $1,800 more. We had to get a Uhaul and deliver to ourselves and hire people to move in our home. After having paid them. No customer service. A “real” Karen Beardsley was horrible and yelled and threatened us. Wouldn’t give her last name. No pride in this company, the blame each other for problems. FRAUDULENT!!!

Do not! I repeat, DO NOT use this company. I cannot stress it enough!

I do not believe I ever spoke to anyone that didn’t lie to me or mislead me in some way.

Do not go with any company that wants money up front and will not guarantee a set price.

Every time I spoke with someone the price increased.

It was over 6 weeks, that’s 42 days, from pickup to delivery of our furniture and belongings.

The initial pick up date of 09/15/2020 was a day late placing us in a very frustrating situation of possibly not getting out on time.

The estimated delivery date was missed by over 30 days which required us to purchase temporary furniture to get by.

Once delivery was finally made many items were damaged with boxes that had been handled upside down, torn and wrapped with tape to keep the contents from spilling out.

I had to assist the driver in backing his rig into the complex and re-assembly of the furniture. To which some I had to come back to and correct.

I have filed a claim for the damages and sure I will not even come close to the recovering the actual value.

Do to the limit on size I have had to cut my time line.

Pickup date was 09/14/2020

Delivery date was 09/21/2020

The pick up date was missed and then late.

On 09/24/2020 the pursuit of our belongings began.

From this point forward I had 27 emails, 29 text messages, and over 20 phone calls where I either had to leave a message or it went straight to hold. It the cases where I did speak to someone, most of the time the response was a scripted one.

10/30/2020

5:46 pm Driver (Derrick) arrives.

6:20 pm Driver is finally able to start unloading. A lot of items damaged. I have taken pictures to record this and I will place a claim. The driver was going to leave, and I had to stop and instruct him that he had to put the furniture that was disassembled back together. I had to assist them in the assembly because they did not have the knowledge on some of the items. These were quite simple items, like table legs and bed frames.

11:15 pm Delivery complete.

Konami Moving and storage out of Los vegas is the worst company I have ever done business with. I was told by the booking company "prestige moving" that my items would be delivered right away. I hired a moving company because I did not want to deal with the hassle. When the moving company "Konami moving and storage" showed up at my place to get my stuff one guy showed up a day and hours late by himself so I ended up having to move most of my items into the truck myself and after my items were packed into the truck he said he was taking my items to a fusion center to be processed. I told him to take my items off the truck and I'd go get a Uhaul because I need everything right away. He called a manager who said it would take 7-10 days at the latest. I decided I could deal with that. They tried to charge a bunch of miscellaneous fees which they later had to refund because they did not add up. I was only 5 hours away from the destination by the way. I called the moving company "Prestige moving and storage to look into these things and all the numbers were disconnected. I asked for a recording of the call my move was booked on I was told that I would get one and never did. My items arrived after over a month (which the d.o.t gives them 30 days at max) in terrible condition, and once again the truck drivers tried to charge a misc fee, which I did not pay. Only after the company conveniently forgot to adjust my price for being over 30 days. My items were also damaged when they got to me. I had to throw away several pieces of furniture. If you are looking for a moving company or trucking service Hire a garbage truck instead Your stuff will get there sooner and in better condition. Fraudulent business activities, Rude staff when you call in to check on your items, they hold your things hostage, ask to speak to someone in charge they deny you. They do shady business and change the story and excuse every time you call for an update and act like you are bothering them. This company should be out of business and also the manager named Lily is trash as a human being rude to customers, and should never be hired to work anywhere again

DO NOT CONTACT THESE PEOPLE. They are a part of a major moving scam, with Budget Van Lines (NOT the Budget you're thinking of) a broker based in Florida and CSI Claims Group. We were extorted, swindled, lied to, scammed 100% by this entire group of fake companies. The Konami owners were arrested in July 2021 in Las Vegas, thanks to victims of the scam, like me. We are still out a ton of money, they broke pretty much everything we own (upwards of $35k in damages) and damaged our home. STAY AWAY from these people. If I could give negative stars I would.

Moved from southern California to Oregon..told 7-10 days and day movers came to pack was told legally 30 days as they where packing to put in truck..we waited 30 days and stuff was broke when it finally arrived..I wouldn't let them move our dog house after this..Beware the actually man that pulled in our culde sac with a eighteen wheeler full of people's precious things stacked on high..got out of truck and asked my husband for money right away!!NEVER EVER AGAIN..we can not replace the things that are broke!!Bad Customer Service!

I CALLED THIS COMPANY TO MOVE MY ITEM AND C=GAVE ME A QUOTE WITH A WAS ASSURED ON. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO SECOND PARTY. AS A RESULT I SAID AND SIGNED THE CONTRACT TO MOVE THE NEXT DAY. A REPRESENTATIVE ONF THE COMPANY CALLED ME AT 8 PM BEGGING THAT THE COMPANY COULD COME MOVE MY ITEMS FOR ME THAT NIGHT. I REFUSED AND WAS ASSURED ME THAT THEY WOULD PACK MY ITEM FOR FREE. A TOTALLY DIFFERENT COMPANY OF TWO MEN WHO WERE CHARGING ME AND DIDN'T EVEN HAVE CLUES ABOUT THE CONTRACT I SIGNED. I C=REFUSED SERVICES BECAUSE I WAS SCARED AND THEY HAVE REFUSED TO M PAY ME BACK. THE COMPANY IS A SCAM.
