Lies.

I’m thankful our belongings never made it onto a truck through this “business”. We were quoted at around $2,500 for a move from Maryland to New York months ago, and paid a deposit over the phone. We had delays of our own, and at the time they were very accommodating and understanding. Now, our move was scheduled for five days away. They called to go over our belongings again and confirm the time, and for us to pay off what they made it seem like was the remainder of our balance. That number had gone up to around $3,500, and they claimed they intentionally overestimate and we would receive a refund should the truck weigh less than expected. Okay, sounds good. Fast forward to two days before the scheduled move, we receive a call claiming we owe ANOTHER $4,000+ from a woman we have never heard from before in a very threatening tone. We dispute the fact that we owe that much money and she immediately hangs up, and we have yet to be able to contact the original rep who sold us on the job. The actual mover who was going to execute our job called right after the shocking demand for double our estimate, claiming he could be there to pick up our goods at seven am the very next day. No way in hell are we letting anyone involved with this company get ahold of our belongings.
After review of the initial estimate compared to the doubled estimate, I think it is safe to assume that Independent Van Lines intentionally underestimates the size and weight of your home in order to sucker you into thinking you’re getting a good deal. Our original estimate and inventory states that our three bedroom home with 60+ boxes of belongings and many pieces of larger furniture would weigh a little over 4,000 lbs. The second estimate we received, after going over the inventory over the phone and making very minor changes, now claims the weight to be well over 10,000. That’s not a small discrepancy. We will be attempting to contact them again to at least get back the “remaining balance” that was paid a few days ago, I’m sure our deposit is long gone however. After reading other reviews with the same experience, I am saddened that we were unaware before choosing them for our move. I don’t know how this place is still in business, and I am furious that such a predatory and scummy operation is out there taking advantage of people. If they only knew how their shady tactics have made my family feel.
DO NOT USE INDEPENDENCE VAN LINES.

My move.

In retrospect, I was badgered into making a decision to use their services and once monies exchanged hands..became yesterday's potatoes. No one would talk with me or conveniently unavailable. My move was 'farmed out' to company who apparently went through many of my containers which proved unnecessary and unnerving. Approximately 30% of my lifetime of memories where either damaged or destroyed beyond repair and still heartbroken. Found trash left by the movers in a bag (knew this because I do not drink sodas and fast food is not on my radar). Words cannot describe the emotional & physical toll felt through this process and still look at some items with tears. Realize items can be replaced (sometimes) and need to push forward but would not recommend this service. Be very wary if choosing to use a service.. I plan to Uhaul next time..at least can only cite myself if something happens again.

A move of this complexity and length needed to be handled by professionals that have experience in this. Based on their reviews and estimate, we decided to go with independence van lines. Now that our things are here, I must say it was a wise decision. They know how to handle each part of the relocation process without any hiccups. Want to move quickly? Give them a call and get an estimate. Thats my suggestion.

Professional Experience.

Good, accountable and dependable moving companies are hard to come by. So imagine my surprise to come across a diamond in the rough, being Independence Van Lines. Completely reliable, professional and accommodating during multiple facets of this moving expedition. They communicated regularly and were very upfront about all the costs associated within the move. Pickup and drop off were orchestrated properly the first time.

Great company.

Our family moved with the help of independence van lines and our things were just delivered yesterday. It took two weeks and we paid 6 grand to move from philly to indiana. I think that's a fair price and we didn't encounter any problems along the way. I'm very happy that we chose this company and recommend them to anyone that wants fast movers and a decent price without feeling like a rip off.

Great company.

Bravo to independence van lines, i'm thrilled they did such a good job with our relocation. Since this was a long distance move, it was not so easy to coordinate everything successfully. Thankfully, everything has worked out according to plan and we can now enjoy our new house without stress or worry. Great company.

Complex cross country move so I needed a company that I could fully trust. That company became independence van lines and I am very satisfied with their services. The whole time I was happy I found them because if we went with another company then things could turn out alot worse. All in all, I recommend independence van lines to all family and friends.

Moving from Vegas to Ohio may not sound the most glamorous, but its exactly what we needed to take the next step in our lives professionally. Long-distance move and expensive but worth every penny. Independence Van Lines came ready for the challenge and moved us across the country within two weeks which is what really short and amazing time frame for a turnaround. we are already unpacking and everything is here so I have no complaints about any missing things or damaged items. Get these guys before they are fully booked I think it'll be a good choice.

There could have been many problems with our three-bedroom relocation because it's a complex move but luckily Independence Van Lines had every corner covered so they were no problems. These are great movers and I have no complaints on my end with the way you handled your business. My only problem was that you did not charge per square foot as originally planned but you quickly rectified the situation offered me a discount. I recommend that all future clients read the fine print. This way you'll avoid any similar issues. When it comes to the actual moving service, it has been amazing!

Independence was the best moving experience Ive ever had.

This is my first time using Independence Van Lines and I hope that it won't be the last. After being disappointed by other movers in the past we decided to give these guys a try for next week location. This was a cross-country move so I know a lot of planning goes into it and I was impressed by the way Independence handled things. It looked like they knew what they were doing and there were no issues along the way in terms of communication and pricing. I saved a lot of money by going with them over any of the competition.

What a change this has been for us..I always wanted to start my life in sunny florida on a positive note so I hired the movers that I thought would do a good job and they sure did! We have a BIG home, so I know it wasn't easy for the guys to relocate us, but they did it with class and professionalism. Our family is happy with our services,i know that other movers may have not done such a good job.
