Hamiltons Removals

We used Hamilton’s some years ago and they were fine. This time they were terrible. Utterly careless with our possessions and damaged a wardrobe and fridge freezer but worst of all very badly damaged our piano. After a long delay they bodged the repairs (even though I paid for insurance they tried to do a specialist repair on the cheap in house) and only after threatening to sue them did they compensate me. Their insurance company were decent but the service Hamilton’s provided was pitiful. They also tried to make me pay for three parking tickets they got entirely due to their incompetence which I refused. Third rate outfit that were a very poor - avoid.

I just wanted to say how disappointed I am with Hamiltons. There we’re many items of our delivery that went missing and didn’t turn up and also most of our furniture were damaged in transit. When we contactedHamiltons to discuss this. We were told that we were out of their deadline date to apply on the insurance.

It’s a such a shame as the two men packing up the furniture and loading the trucks we’re great but unfortunately with two rugs and many boxes going missing we would not recommend Hamiltons to anyone! Sorry!

Absolutely shocked by the behaviour of this company. Absolutely not to be trusted at all! I shipped my belongings from London to Cyprus and insured my items. I was told to send over a list of the items and to value the price for each item and I would be sent a final bill. I sent over the list, got the quote for “ total final bill “ and paid the balance owed.

All good I thought. Well not quite! Shipment arrived and the packaging was shocking, due to covid, I had not been able to be in the same room when they packed so had no idea how bad a job they had done.

My air conditioning unit was broken, so I placed a call to Hamilton’s to put in a claim. I was contacted some time later to be told ... wait for it ! We forgot to charge you for the insurance and if you want to make a claim you have to pay us an extra £140. I explained that I had received a “total final bill” months ago and if there was an error on their part then that was clearly their issue. Absolutely not acceptable three months later and only when I go to make a claim for damages, to try and extort further funds from their clients.

As claims for insurance go through Hamilton’s, I was not able to claim on the insurance, I had been lead to believe that was fully paid for!

Had this been a genuine mistake on their part I would expect them to apologise and take the hit finically. Instead I get Tracy with an attitude, sending me an email telling me to escalate my complaint via customer services, umm guess who was head of customer service complaints? That’s right - Tracy with the attitude? Why ? Clearly just trying to exhaust the customer into giving up.

Hamiltons have been perfect! Tony Smith with the initial survey, was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and reassuring. They were accommodating with last minute date changes. Ample boxes and packaging materials arrived promptly. Jay unexpectedly and thoughtfully managed to arrange additional and welcome assistance.

To top it all, the crew, Kerry, Mick, Chris, Ralph and Rodney on both removal days were a great team! They were hardworking, accommodating, patient, considerate and most of all, polite and respectful!!

We are in between moves, and just hope that Kerry and his team will be available once more. Thank you Hamiltons!

Had a brilliant experience of using Hamiltons. Movers arrived early and asked a handful of questions and then got going without us needing to do a thing. A couple of pieces of furniture wouldn't come down the stairs but they happily found other ways of removing them.

Arriving at the new house they sent a few extra movers to get the job done quicker. We were fully moved in by 2:30pm, everything was moved without damage and put where we wanted it.

I wouldn't hesitate to use Hamiltons again. They made a potentially stressful day an absolute breeze.

This was our first house move for 19 Years and with the amount we had to transport , over 50 boxes of books , 15 crates of records ,not to mention an olive tree which took 4 of your team to shifts, countless plants and a piano to boot I was a little worried pre move .

But from the initial survey by Robert Foster back in May to the eventual delivery to our new home last week, which was completed by your team of Sam, Sam, Lewis and Eddie any concerns we may had had disappeared.

I know Hamiltons have probably seen it all before but a BIG thank you from both of us.

A wonderful professional friendly experience.

We were very pleased with how our move went, and the team of 4 were very efficient, very pleasant & made the removal a very easy one for myself & my wife, and we are now settling in well.

Although the last time we moved was 30 years ago, we have used Hamilton's for my Mother's house move to Stamford, and my Mother in law's move from Bury St. Edmunds to Ipswich. These both went very well & hence why we had no hesitation in using Hamiltons again for our own move.

Hamiltons have moved me 3 times in 3 years and I would never use anyone else. Their staff are extremely helpful, friendly and professional. They consistently deliver outstanding customer service, are respectful and take excellent care of your belongings.

I used them to pack up everything the day before completion and then to move me from a three bedroomed , second floor apartment to a two bedroom house.
