Long-distance move from Billings, MT to Rehobeth, MD

Awesome Movers.

They were awesome! They were very polite and friendly even when we realized my move was going to take longer than originally planned. All of my large furniture and fragile items were wrapped well and he helped pack the kitchen items efficiently. He was super helpful and made sure all the trash was taken to the dumpster. He was a big help as a 3rd person to move things along quicker (he was called in on his day off). All 3 gentlemen were easy to work with and extremely helpful. I sincerely appreciated their patience and kindness! Next time I know to request packing help the day before and move the next day!! I appreciated the quick response to my initial inquiry. Only recommendation, it’s time for a new truck!!! All my items fit fine, but I kept my fingers crossed the truck wouldn’t break down!!!

Long-distance move from Allentown, PA to Rockville, MD

Professional, Careful, and Efficient.

David and his team were incredibly professional, accommodating, and hardworking throughout the entire process. From the moment they arrived, they handled everything with care and efficiency, ensuring that all of my belongings were securely packed and transported. They completed my move in just 2.5 days, which was impressively fast for the distance. The pricing was very fair, and they made the entire experience stress-free.

Long-distance move from Washington DC to Michigan

Worst Consumer Experience of my Life.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!  EVEN IF IT IS YOUR ONLY OPTION! RENT A UHAUL AND MOVE YOURSELF IF YOU HAVE TO!   I am a physician moving from DC to Michigan for work and I thought a moving company would help me settle in quickly since I needed to start at the hospital just two days after arriving in town.  But using this company turned out to be the worst consumer decision I have ever made.   Moving is always stressful but Great Nation Van Lines has a knack for making the process SO MUCH worse.     Things started off well, the agent I worked with quoted a fair price and the packing movers showed up on time and did a great job.     HOWEVER, once the company had all my things and I was at their mercy, the horrific service and trickery began.     1.  PRICES CHANGE UNEXPECTEDLY:  The agent came back with a new price that did not reflect the calculations on the invoice.  They claimed that the agent had made a typo and that I would need to pay double the original agreed upon price.  Thank god I saved every document they gave me so after many emails and phone calls they agreed to the original pricing.   2.  THE OWNER IS RUDE AND UNTRUSTWORTHY:  Every time I spoke with the owner, David, he yelled and wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise, he would cut me off mid-sentence.  It is difficult to accurately describe what a rude and self absorbed human being this man is but I don't recommend finding out for yourself.  He has no concept of empathy for the customer and is only interested in discussing his own hardships with his business.     After solving the price mixup, I got final confirmation of the date and time frame of the drop off and took time off from the hospital (not an easy thing to do with late notice as a doctor).  Then less than 12 hours before their scheduled arrival time I got a call from the driver saying that they would arrive a day later.  They did not have an agent call to give me a proper explanation for the change, they had the driver tell me in an offhand comment.     I was baffled after hearing this from the driver so I called the owner who said things were very busy for him in his business and that he had to take care of someone else first.  I explained that it is very difficult for me to take time off from my work because I work in the medical field.  He then proceeded to lecture me and tell me that I should be more understanding of his situation, that "as a doctor I need to learn to handle emergencies and difficulties".  I was livid at this point and said I needed to get off the phone.  Later on I received text message apologies.       3.  THEY DO NOT HONOR AGREEMENTS:  After the issue with the charges and the last minute time change the owner said he would offer me a $250 discount and that the movers would arrive the next day between 8am and 10am.  I agreed and went to take out the exact amount of remaining money and managed to find a friend to be at the house during drop off.     The movers arrived an hour late outside the window and upon arrival the driver told my friend that the payment was not enough and that if I didn't come up with the additional $100 they would drive away with my things.  I had to leave the hospital in the middle of working with a patient to deal with the issue after the owner called yelling and threatening me.     The movers left their garbage, did not finish setting up the furniture and did not unpack.  I was told by the agent that I was getting a full service move with packing, shipment and unpacking.  At this point I am exhausted from the poor treatment from the owner and the company that I'd rather unpack, set up furniture and throw garbage myself.   I deeply regret having used Great Nation Van Lines.  Don't make the same mistake I did, do yourself a favor and use another company or move yourself.      .

Dear Mrs. Heba Albutairi

I would like to ask you for the opportunity to make it up to you and resolve any outstanding issues. Please let me know how we can resolved any outstanding issues. my email is info@greatnationvanlines.com

I would like also to state some facts:
-We did pick up your property on time
-There were no damages to your property, for the missing small bicycle please contact the company for instructions of how to file a claim or visit www.MyMoveClaim.com
- We deliver your property on time and for the day delay we did end up paying you $150 cash compensation, while still in your active delivery window, we were not behind schedule.
-Your staff was deliver in less than 5 business days to MI having in mind your job was very small 2000 lbs
-The price we provided you was the best in the market and you end up paying 40% less than the industry average
-We still offered you a substantial financial compensation for the troubles that occurred during your move. You took the money stating by accepting this money we will consider this issue resolved.
-If you read your agreement carefully you will realize the unpacking of boxes it is not included in your moving cost. But we did offer you 2 professional movers to come to your home after the delivery to unpack and finish whatever you wanted them to do, just because you assumed we were going to provide this service not because it was promised to you or in your paper work.

In final words Mrs. Albutairi we offered you free help and fast delivery while charging you very little money, You did not say a single word for the moving crew in DC and how they did their job. I wish we could have done better but with over 3500 moves we perform each year we understand that sometimes the circumstances make our job very difficult. We wish you best of luck. One bad move does not make us a bad people or bad company.
Thank You and we wish you best of luck in the future.

Best Moving experience Ever! Thank you!

Great Nation Van Lines was recommended to me by a colleague of mine.   To be honest, at first I was a bit skeptical to allow someone else handling my furniture, and especially my custom-build desks and cabinets, but it was entirely too much for me and my wife to handle on our own. My friend and associate, Jacob, had mentioned to me about these guys a few months ago, so I decided to give them a chance.  I called them, and in less than four hours I had a representative at my home to give me an estimate. He carefully went over my items and explained the whole moving process, even gave me a discount on a few items, such as my pool table and my paintings. After that meeting, I knew there was no need for me to search any further for moving professionals.  My move was scheduled on a Friday, to accommodate my personal schedule, and by the end of the weekend I had all my items in place at my new home. I even had time to crack a cold one at the end of the day on Sunday.   My overall experience with Great Nation Van Lines was amazing! All my household items were carefully wrapped in blankets, boxes and bubble wrap, and they were in the same condition as they picked them up from my old house. According to my wife, all of her belongings were the same way, so happy wife, happy life! With such professionalism and coordination, I expected my estimate to go sky high, but instead it did not move a single dime.  They even added a few small items from my garage to the move for free.   For those of you, who take the time to read these reviews, I would like to say that my wife and I recommend this Moving Company at 110%. They are very professional, and they respect and value their client’s belongings. For me that is most important value in a service. I am very pleased with the choice I made, because I had no headaches during my move, did not hurt my back, and even had a few hundred bucks left over from my budget, which I gladly gave to the hard working employees of Great Nation Van Lines to compliment their hard work.     .

Best move I ever had.

I recommend them full hardheartedly. Best experience with a moving company I ever had. They provided me with excellent service. They arrived within their window of time and immediately began wrapping my furniture. Then they even repacked by stuff, just to make sure nothing was damaged. I was impressed. They handled all my  belongings with care. The move was only an hour away, so when we arrived at my new home, they immediately started unloading. One of my mattresses could not be carried up the stairs so the guys had to lift it through the second story window, which was unexpected. Everything was handled with extreme care. All my boxes and furniture were placed in the correct room, so I was ready to start unpacking. No damage was done to a single item. I never knew moving can be so pleasant, but  after experiencing a move done by Great Nation Van Lines, I know it is possible. .

Long-distance move from Maryland to Tennessee

Great experience with Great Nation!

I had a great experience with Great Nation. They were able to beat the price of my other van line quotes and then some. They were able to pick up my belongings at 2 stops in Baltimore without any additional fees or charges. The movers were very professional and efficient. Everything was packed and loaded with care. They truly are a full service moving experience. The communication from start to finish was great as well. I could always call or email and get a hold of someone to ask questions or clarify timing, etc. I would highly recommend Great Nation to a friend.
One thing that I would mention as a word of caution to anyone moving - my pricing was weight based and I ended up paying a bit more than originally planned due to the weight being greater than originally thought. This was my own fault as I did not have anyone estimate the contents of my storage unit. But I would recommend to anyone going through a move to throw away things they don't need! We threw away lots of stuff once we arrived in Tennessee that I paid by the pound for to have moved. However regarding Great Nation on this matter - they were very up front about pricing structure and I was 100% aware of the plan. I just should have been more judicious about sorting through my stuff on the front end!
Again, I would highly recommend Great Nation and would use them again in a heartbeat. .

Fixed a bad move.

The Rockville company manager ANSWERED THE PHONE ON A SUNDAY, and then, SENT A CREW SAME DAY, 3 hours later.  They rescued us from an impossible situation and completed the move in the time we needed. The company the day before did one room in 3 hours, and this crew completed the house in 3 hours.  I would recommend to anyone!
Especially nice was the number of times the manager (David) checked in on us to see how it was going, and how it went.  He didn't have to do that but great customer service,.

Long-distance move from Maryland to Virginia

Quite reliable.

I would suggest everyone if they need any professional, safe, reliable mover which maintain accurate timeline, they should hire Great nation van lines. Though it’s not so easy to find out a mover that really respect their clients demand but I might be very lucky to having them moved my belongings. The move was absolutely stress free. I moved from Maryland to Virginia. The sales person Michael helped me go through the moving inventory. I had so many items to move including electronics and heavy furniture. The crews knew what they were doing. There was no incident. All stuffs were delivered intact. I was very happy and tipped them accordingly.

Good Movers Still Exist.

I was skeptical at 1st ,( it is a moving company you know ) but they were everything you can ask for. We`ve all heard so many horror stories about hiring a mover, but come to find out you don't always hear the whole story. Hiring a moving company is something that you cannot escape when you need to shift to another house or another city. I have always felt that it was my bad luck that I have had poor experiences in the past with the movers. But this moving company changed my perception. They were nice ,sincere, on time , as advertised sales man , their lead man and overall experience were great. The original estimate was pretty close to what I ended up paying. They did a very nice job of wrapping everything and loading everything up securely. The entire company kept contact with us the entire time of the move. Will definitely recommend them guys and use them again in future myself, if needed . I am glad there are still good people out there in this field. .
