We used Great Nation Moving twice. The first time was fantastic. The second time not so much. We had them pack our belongings and when we discovered a missing power charger for my husband’s oxygen he called the company. When he called back a week later he was told “we don’t have it”, end if story, no help whatsoever!

Very Happy Customer.

Our crew showed up on time and moved our two bedroom apartment to a house across town in about 5 hours. All three guys worked very quickly and efficiently. Sometimes, with three guys, the third one will slack off... that wasn't the case with Great Nation Moving!

These were the BEST movers!!

Excellent moving experience. I moved and household was handled with care. He went above and beyond when workers did not show up on receiving end. He carried whole household himself. There were some very heavy, bulky items. He was truly amazing. He beat the competition in pricing and kept his word on everything promised. Definitely hire him!

Very satisfied.

I used this company for two deliveries. We had a couch, reclining chair, patio set and bedroom set delivered. Excellent communication and coordination throughout. They were careful and wrapped my fragile items for the delivery. Movers worked extremely hard. Very satisfied and would highly recommend. Good value for the money!

Great Nation Moving was great.

Great Nation Moving was great. Our moving plans were changing daily as we were working through multiple schedules. The owner reached out every few days (unobtrusively) to check in to see if we still needed their help. Once the moving plans were solidified, they showed up when expected, were professional and super efficient, and packed our moving van so well that nothing moved during the two day travel trip home and nothing was damaged or even shifted in the van (mountain driving up and down steep inclines). Unknown to me, until the job was complete, that the owner was one of the movers. I highly recommend, even though there were less expensive options, I felt that they could do the job professionally and I was not disappointed.

Great Nation Van Lines.

We chose Great Nation after hearing scary moving stories about other very large national moving chains.  Our move from Silver Spring to New York City went smoothly and wonderfully well.  GN movers packed up our delicate Grandfather Clock, artwork and other belongings with such great care and delivered them to our Manhattan apartment and storage unit without a hitch.  Nothing was damaged or lost.  GN office staff were kind and helpful in providing our move estimate and patiently worked with us as our move expanded.  I would highly recommend this moving company!

Highly recommend them.

I booked Great nation van lines for my Virginia to Maryland move. After doing the paper works with gvl, I decided to move on Sunday. Packing and uploading took only four hours. Not bad! I got my stuffs unscratched and safe. There was no doubt that they did an incredible service with very friendly and affectionate manner. All of them have been very honest and helpful throughout the move. I highly recommend them.

Great Nation Moving Company.

This moving company was fantastic from start to finish. They were very careful with every piece of furniture as well as respectful. It was an exhausting move and day which continued well after midnight. The movers never complained or acted tired even though they must have been exhausted! They always asked before doing anything extra and let us know how much any additional packing or supplies would cost.

Xtreme Movers.

This moving companies is one of the best I have dealt with yet. The prices are affordable and they are friendly yet professional. They were very cautious with my families belongings, even when it came to the animals items. I am very pleased with the work and would highly recommend them to others. They showed up ahead of schedule ready to work. Nothing at all was damaged in any way and for that I am truly pleased. Great job guys!!

Successful Move.

With a relatively small partial house move across country, we were a bit apprehensive. The cost was not the main issue (ultimately very reasonable) but rather would all the items arrive and in good shape.
The packers came and were the hardest and fastest workers we'd ever seen. They wrapped, packed and loaded everything in 4 hours!
We expected the delivery date to be weeks away considering the distance. We were impressed that the driver called us to explain his plan and timing when still several days away and continued to keep us informed. This was better service than we ever had before!
We strongly recommend Great Nations Moving.

Good Experience.

I was very pleased with the recent move from Fairfax to Annandale. We moved from a 2 story townhouse to a 3 story TH so the amount of things to move was not overwhelming but they are bulky including a piano. The crew showed up early, proceeded to assess the requirement, and got to work promptly. They were efficient, careful, and very mindful of the furniture. The same kind of attention was provided unloading the furniture into the new townhouse. Throughout the process they were very efficient as if to realize the customer is paying by the hour, and very pleasant. The process was painless and as pleasant as possible given the move situation which always creates stress. Rose the service rep called two times during the moving day (Saturday) to ensure all was on track and met expectations. I'd recommend Great Nation Van Lines to all.

So far so good.

My move is not scheduled until May 2nd. I am writing this initial review because I was taken back by what one of the owners did for my business. I received a quote from them over a month ago and after shopping around, yes a week before my move, found a lower price some $4,000 less. I didn't pit one company against another I just cancelled with them. The owner called me up and I explained the size of my move was less than what was quoted. They used a survey from another company. David in order to keep my business drove from Rockville to Frederick, in rush hour, to do a survey and the size of the move was less than quoted. We worked on price that we both could live with and he provided the revised quote on the spot. If this is anything what I can expect with my move I am going to be extremely happy. More to come after my actual move on May 2nd from Frederick down to Jacksonville.

Didn't expect it to be so easy.

First, I coudn't make up my mind which company to choose, but after speaking with their general manager they have convinced me that these guys know what they are doing. After a small negotiation process I was good to go and everything went really well and gladly easy as pie. Even though I wasn't home during their pick up, everything was really profesionally done, my family was happy so as me of course.

You know I had same questions what you are having right now, mine was not corporate move..I have to put from my pocket and move cost was more than stuff worth. Moving process was decent I appreciate the staff more than Great Nation as a whole..Greg and pickup up staff and delivery staff.. at 6F temperature they arrange my stuff at home how I would like to arrange that that too in day after tomorrow to that day they picked up..Long story short..I like it..Hello Greg and Mimi..Thank you for your help and convey my appreciation to both pickup and delivery staff too.

Would highly recommend for care and efficiency.

Moving across the country is stressful. Great Nation made things so much better. I read horror story after horror story about every moving company on Yelp, BBB, etc. Finally I just went with my gut, which was guiding me to Great Nation. I was afraid of standard things like items breaking or being charged way more than expected, but mostly I was nervous about my things arriving in a timely fashion so I could begin my new job and feel organized. I will say that the total was about double my original estimate, but I think it's probably a good practice to assume this. Whatever they use to estimate cubic feet is just honestly low. For example, I said I had a large dresser and they estimated it at half the cubic feet it actual was when I did the math. So I knew this would be the case.

BUT, the movers were friendly, impressively efficient, and careful. My things were packed with so much care and they arrived only three days later (Chicago to DC) in perfect condition. The cops pulled up to question us as soon as they arrived because I didn't reserve street parking (hard to do when DC requires 5 days' notice and the moving company gives you 1..) but the movers were willing to work with me and the police to find a legal place to unload without having to add an additional long carry charge.

All in all, my things arrived when I needed them and in perfect condition and it was well worth the cost. I highly recommend Great Nation.
