The manager, William, really went out of his way to help me move despite multiple unexpected delays. He absorbed the logistical costs that came with urgent rescheduling, and was super nice about it. William always were responsive, so that I wasn't nervous about not being able to reach the company.

I am also indebted to Freddy, the team leader of people who actually wrapped my furniture and moved my stuff. He volunteered to work overtime in order to deliver my shipment to my new apartment the next day. I am SO grateful!

I cannot imagine that any other moving company would do this for a customer. Great Nations truly overdelivered for me!

Great Nation Moving made my long-distance move a very smooth one! Everyone was extremely helpful and always answered my questions in a timely fashion. The two men who picked up and delivered my furniture took great care in making sure nothing was damaged. They were very efficient and hardworking in the heat/humidity they had to deal with. Greg was my go to for any questions prior to the move and answered me immediately with all of my many concerns I had during this major event! David also was a great help with telling me when my furniture was going to be delivered- keeping me informed all the way. I am so happy and thankful that I found this company and highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a great company with excellent customer service and movers.

We had always moved ourselves over the years from place to place and decided that we did not want to do this move on our own. We looked through many companies and read recent reviews for each one and until we reached reviews for Great Nation, we almost decided to do it ourselves again. Still on the fence, we spoke with Greg and David and decided to go ahead and have their team do the move. On the day of the move, the team called while they were on the way and showed up on time. After a walk through, they were off to work and I can tell you, on one of the hottest days this year, I was happy I did not have to move it myself. Within a few hours they had their truck packed and on the way to Maryland. Once in MD, they unloaded in under 3 hours including setting all the beds up and putting everything where we asked. The best part was they were very accommodating as we decided the living room was to small for two couches like we had in the PA house. They saw we were on the fence and offered to move the second couch around the house and in the basement. This was the best decision we had made for this move and if we had to do over again, we would have had Great Nation move everything without hesitation.

An interstate move is stressful, but Great Nation made our move smooth and successful! In my phone calls with Greg, I felt as though all of my concerns and questions were addressed. Our final cost WAS higher than quoted, but that seems to be the way things go with moving. Ultimately, our main concern was that our furniture and belongings were safely transported to our new home in a timely fashion. Great Nation delivered! Milton and his crew were friendly, careful, and efficient. We had a great experience with Great Nation Moving and recommend them highly.

Recently I moved from Princeton, New Jersey to Catonsville, Maryland. I was looking for a single company that can help me to move my stuff from my Princeton Home, store my stuff for three and half months, and finally deliver to our newly constructed home at Catonsville, Maryland. I researched a lot finally a came across Great Nation Moving. My move was totally worry free, I got all my stuff as is condition. Great nation team took care end to end moving operation. I had lot of expensive furniture, expensive pictures. End result is I am a happy satisfied customer. Great Nation team is great, great team work, they are extremely professional. I strongly recommend Great Nation.

I used Great Nations moving company for a relocation from Pittsburgh, PA to Virginia in mid-October. After reading so many poor reviews on other companies I was very anxious about everything. I had recieved quotes from 15 other moving companies, and an A+ rating from Angie's list help me decide on working with this company. I approached doing business withthem with the attitude that "you know you will be screwed, but how much is the question". I was pleasantly surprised at how well things went. Initially, the owner Greg Smith asked what my volume was, and after getting so many other quotes, I quoted him the largest volume. Based on that he gave me a quote that was right in the middle of the others, so I was pleased. I also advised that I would be self-packing and he estimated my packaging needs based on the items I would not be able to pack. I will be honest, Greg Smith comes off very curt and unprofessional at times, but his candor will keep you from underbidding yourself if you can get past his abrupr disposition, he will guide you in the right direction. Luckily for me, I am just as frank so it worked for me.

As for the actual move, I worked with Milton , who was an absolute sweetheart. He and his crew were amazing. He arrived, did a walk through to see what needed to go and made sure to inventory things appropriately. He did not try to use more packaging than necessary and he he used care when handling our things and as he moved about our home. In the end, we ended up using half the amount of packaging quoted and we were right within the volume predicted (you know your volume before movers leave, so you can adjust accordingly). Milton checked my inventory list against his prior to leaving. He encouraged me ro go to the truck and see how things were stowed. They were fast and efficient and we recieved our things within quoted time frame and everything was in perfect condition. I was also made aware of balance changes throughout the move, so I knew what was due at all time.

The key is to be honest with your movers as well as yourself about your inventory. And if you are a self packer, be sure that everything that can be boxed is boxed. If they come in and have to pack things, it will be more.
