Well done

My recent experience with Golden Gate Relocation LLC was phenomenal. Adam from the staff was a breath of fresh air. He attended me as soon as he noticed me entering the office. He was patient, kind and provided immediate assistance with booking. I appreciated how he took the time to explain how the company handled moves, so I understood everything clearly. He also gave me the opportunity to ask questions and addressed them. After booking, he sent over Nelson and William at my place for a quick assessment. They noted down the size of my apartment, amount of things as well as the kind they were. As soon as they were done, they provided me an affordable price quote and also recommended the number of moving vans/trucks and packing supplies required. Then on moving day, they arrived prepared and were professional throughout. All my items were thoroughly packed and loaded securely onto the trucks.

DON'T USE GOLDEN GATE, THEY STEAL FROM YOU

Golden Gate has no integrity or ethics. The whole moving process with them was a nightmare. When first speaking with Gabby for quotes, she told us our items should arrive in TX by 7 business days after our FADD. When we reached out after not receiving our items by the 7 business days, she changed her story and said 7 business days to leave their warehouse and that the contract states it could take up to 21 business days. This was very frustrating as she sold us a story to get a sale, set expectations that led to great disappointment and we were very underprepared for our move. From the reviews, it looks like many other customers had similar experiences. We probably would've been ok with the 21 days if they had been transparent from the beginning and we had better prepared ourselves.

When we finally received our items on 1/8/24 (they picked up on 12/11 and FADD was 12/16 so they had our items for almost a month) there was a LOT of damage (ex they transported our fridges upside down) and items STOLEN. The reason we know the items were stolen, not missing, is because there were items kept inside envelopes with the letters friends gave us as wedding gifts. All the letters and cards had been pulled out from their envelopes and the valuable items were gone. The entire box in particular arrived totally broken, all the items jumbled up and even a shoebox of old letters and photographs had been opened, rifled through and mixed up. A valuable handbag, spare phone used for travel and some sentimental jewelry all gone. It was blatantly clear that someone had gone through the box. Also, the contract states reassembly of basic furniture is part of the "white glove" service but when asking the team, they didn't bring tools so couldn't reassemble.

When contacting customer service about our overall dissatisfaction and theft in particular, their first response was to blame us for packing those items. REALLY? Does that make it ok for your employees to go through someone else's personal belongings? All they said was to file a claim. Apparently, blatant theft is nothing significant or new. We're going through the claims process now but don't expect much from this unethical company. Don't use Golden Gate, especially for long distance!

Not licensed to do business in California _ Please Read

I used Golden Gate Relocation LLC. last June. Most of my expensive item's came up missing and many more items damaged. The company was not willing to resolve the issue, so I sought other avenues. During my searching for help I contacted Bureau of Household Goods and Services at https://www.bhgs.dca.ca.gov/. I was surprised to be informed that Golden Gate Relocation LLC. is not even licensed to work in California and anyone that has used them to move in, or out of, California can file in small claims court in California and be awarded all monies paid refunded to you.

Fantastic customer service!! The amount of antique lace I had to move and store was handled with care by this company and storage facility. They carefully wrapped each component and stored it in a humidity-controlled container.

So much broken and missing stuff

They admitted they lost and broke $10,000 of my things and offered less than $200 in compensation. At one point, they Face-timed from the moving truck, asking which stuff was mine. It would've been cheaper to throw everything away and buy new stuff.

I have waited four months for a response on a claim. They want to settle on 75$. It was a box with well over $1200. Are you kidding me! I only had 13 boxes. How do you lose one of the most expensive ones?! That is very convenient.

Theodore and Henry showed up on time and handled themselves in a really professional manner. Thanks to them, what should have been a stressful transition was made incredibly easy.
