I lost an entire house full of furniture because of this company. The woman handling the phone is a terrible and she refused to provide the name as I tried to locate my furniture. They were hired by a moving broker located in southern Florida. South Floride is the home of some of the worse moving brokers.

This company should be closed.

1. They jack up your prices when they arrive.

Flat Price is a go-to choice used by notorious moving “broker” Empire Moving. Empire will give a very attractive quote for your move and send Flat Price to your home, where the Flat Price foreman will tell you, “Ohhh, you have way more stuff!” and triple the amount of the estimate. Case in point: Empire gave me an estimate of nearly $8,000. Flat Price came in and said, “That’ll be $20,000.” After I recovered from a panic attack and contacted Empire, they shrugged and said, “Well, we gave you an ‘estimate.’ The movers make the call.” And what can you do at THAT point? The movers are at your house! You’re stuck. It’s a cozy arrangement that Empire and Flat Rate have. If it’s looks like a scam and walks like a scam, it’s a scam.

2. They lie about delivery times. In Flat Price’s world, it’s always “next week.”

Our move was estimated to take “at least” 5 days. It ended up being 7 weeks. Each time I called and actually got through to a live person (see Reason #4), I was told about delays with a truck coming back from Florida or some issues with weather, but the bottom line was always, “You’re on the list. The truck should be there next week.” This was never true, until Week 6, when they were teetering on the edge of contract violation and we threatened legal action. Hey look! Our stuff arrived on Week 7!

3. They lack the resources for a big move.

Sure, there’s a nationwide trucking shortage. But if you’re Flat Price and you KNOW you’re shorthanded, then why make promises you can’t keep? In fact, why take the job in the first place? Managing customer expectations should be important. And THAT point brings us to…

4. Their customer service doesn’t exist.

Got an issue? Can’t imagine why! If you have a basic question, such as, “WHERE’S MY STUFF?” the friendly staff at Flat Rate will… not help you. The main customer service line will respond only to questions about appointments. If you have a question about the whereabouts of ALL YOUR STUFF, they’ll direct you to Shipping, where you get a recording that tells you to leave a voicemail, followed immediately by a second recording, “We’re sorry. Mailbox is full.” Seriously, I called for weeks. Try it.

5. They will break your stuff.

Our belongings finally arrived after 7 weeks. Our daughter’s bed was broken. Our air purifier was broken. Our dining room table couldn’t be reassembled. Glassware and kitchen items were broken. Care for your belongings is clearly not a priority.

Bottom line: Stay away.

The only thing I know for sure is whatever they tell me won’t happen. If they say they will come in the morning they show up at night if they say they will call back they won’t - they said what I wanted to hear to get my money and then held me hostage - my wife and I are 1100 miles away from we we are used to and we don’t have any thing we need because we weren’t even able to prioritize what we actually need. So they have my table base I have my table top - I have my rower belt they have my seat. Save your self & run like hell - I would have been better off making the 1000+ mile trip 10x with my suv then the added stress and waste of money flat price moving has caused me. - I don’t hope this review saves someone the added stress flat price moving will add to your already stressful move.

On the day of pickup they continuously missed the timeframe for pickup so I had to call and ask for an update. This went until they said they wouldn't be able to make it. I had to leave to my new home in South Carolina so I made plans for a neighbor to be there for pick up. They then called me to let me know they were 30 minutes out. I did like those movers, very nice and respectful, we had some very pleasant conversation, they broke everything down and moved it out for me. Then my stuff was moved away and I did not see it for 24 days. Communication was abysmal. They could never tell me where my stuff was or when I could expect it, only that my 1 bedroom apartment was going to cost me $7,200 for 68 items, none of which were particularly heavy. We were able to come to a conclusion that was crazy and settled for $4,700. As I was waiting I would periodically call for an update. They would tell me my stuff was on it's way and to expect it in 3-5 days then 2 days later tell me they're shipping it soon and to expect it in 5-7 days. All this time I still did not have a contract with them. Today when my stuff arrived the team unloaded it, setting everything into my apartment. I was taking inventory as they brought everything in, I hear their truck start and them pulling away, I ran outside to try to stop them but they did not stop. I tried calling them repeatedly, they never answered my call and then blocked my number. I called from a different number and they picked up, spoke into the phone, I said my name, they went silent for a little and hung up. I still did not have 14/68 items I moved with them, I did not sign any paperwork saying I received anything from them, they did not put together any of the furniture the company originally took apart. I called the office stating this problem, they said, it's okay, we don't need your signature for delivery, everything else you can file a claim. THAT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH! They have my money so now they're done with me? I was charged an exorbitant amount and a fifth of my goods were not delivered and what I do have, glass is broken, chairs are broken. They did not even take most of the moving blankets off my stuff. Save your money and your sanity, please learn from my mistake and DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR MOVE!

When our stuff was packed, they said we had too much, the estimate was low and we owed $9k more than the binding estimate. Then, our stuff was to be delivered by 7/6, was actually delivered 8/8...only 1/2 of it! They required full payment of balance before unloading. We then realized they only delivered 1/2 our stuff. They said the rest would be delivered in a couple days. We're still waiting with no word on when our stuff will ship.

Awful customer service. This is not a real company. They should and will be out of business.

I didn't hire these movers directly and trust me if I had known who my broker hired, I would've NEVER let them leave with my furniture! I was scheduled to be picked up on 8/31 which they showed up 9 hours late. Once of the drivers was sleazy and hitting on me and making me feel so uncomfortable. Besides that I was promised my furniture would be delivered on 9/1. On 9/1 I called the driver and couldn't get a hold of him, and customer service proceeded to say I was scheduled to have my stuff delivered tomorrow. It has been a week and I am still waiting. Every time I call customer service they don't answer till 11 AM EST, and they have a different excuse as to why my stuff has not been delivered. They have told me for an entire week my stuff will be delivered tomorrow and never follow up. I have threatened them multiple times which does not phase them because they obviously do this to everyone they work with. I truly do not understand how they have not been destroyed by a lawsuit and are still operating. They clearly are running an illegal business and paying their employees under the table.

I moved back from San Antonio TX to Brockton MA in the beginning of June 2021 now it's September 23, 2021. They still haven't delivered my belongings. The 1st excuse I got back in June was they didn't have a truck. It's funny how a moving company didn't have a truck. Now everytime I call they either don't answer or their system is down. All I want is my belongings. They lack professionalism as well acknowledgment of being wrong as well as having some customer service. I have contacted BBB filing a complaint. Till this day the manager has yet reached out to me.

My experience with moving was very smooth. We moved from California to Texas (like everyone and their mother!) on a short timeline, with two kids and a dog.. chaos.

Charlie was a great communicator and was awesome to work with. My experience really went down hill when I started unpacking my items and realized that several items were missing. These items were: prescriptio medication, a mini speaker, and our PS4. We paid extra to have the company pack for us.. little did I know, they would also be selecting items to keep. So upsetting.

DO NOT USE LYING SCOUNDRELS...Came.to pick up my stuff said they had under charged me. $8000 for a 2 bedroom apartment and I left My living room there. I was promised my stuff in 5 to 14 days, excuse after excuse as to where it was and when it would be delivered. All they do is lie. Once they get your.money they change everything. I literall6.overheard an employee taking to her supervisor, she thought I was.on hold, and she admitted to lying about dates,, then laughed when she told her.manager I was upset.Then my stuff was delivered on 46 days late and by a different company. The driver didn't even know what.company he was working for.. They came at 10pm I had an.oil pai ting shattered, a leaning.mirror, the last.thing my.dead.mom had given.to me shattered and two.58 and 65 inch televisions shattered upon delivery which were.packed.in appropriate tv.boxes.and wrapped In bubblewrap and foam..This comoany is a sham. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY LYING CHEATING STEALING PEOPLE!!!

We hired AME Moving and Storage to move us from Delaware to New Jersey with a brief stay in climate controlled storage for $9900. Instead, Flat Price Moving was sent and our nightmare began. We immediately knew there was a problem and called the state police after the truck was filled and the moving quote went from $9900 to $25,000. The state police were unwilling to get involved and we had to pay up and hope for the best. After weeks of filing police reports, making futile phone calls and sending emails, we were certain we would never see our belongings. State agencies have their hands tied when a moving company is federally licensed or in the case of Flat Price operating with a revoked license. By an incredible stroke of luck, the FBI learned of our situation and reached out to help. After unanswered phone calls, texts and emails, lie upon lie upon lie, Flat Price was convinced to deliver our goods, some items missing or damaged beyond repair. The brazenness didn’t stop. Flat Price issued us an invoice for $5200 for the delivery. Absolutely incredible!

If you choose to contract with this company, kiss everything you own and a lot of money goodbye.

I moved from South Jersey to Austin Texas and they charged me $12,000 ( YES TWELVE THOUSAND) for a 2 bedrooms apartment. The second bedroom only had a desk and chair in it. They lie about times, dates, pricing, anything. Not to mention, EVERYTHING came damaged. Apparently there was a hole at the top of the trailer and my stuff all got submerged in water. Pieces of furniture were missing, mold and mildew were all over everything. It was just a mess. When picking up my stuff, the person that was overseeing everything suggested that I tip them $900 total for the three of them moving my items ( they were there for a hour). Everything about the process was sketchy and weird and I should have trusted my gut. Please please do not hire this company.

I had the worse experience with this company. My stuff was delivered 11 days late and we paid for expedited shipping which did not occur. I filed a claim with their third party claim company on a very confusing site that ended up not processing the claim and referred me to another site to do the same stuff over. Voicemail is full or nobody answers the phones. They are thieves. Overcharged me about close to $3K. When the mover finally showed up they wanted to me sign off that got everything before everything was unpacked. I found a whole suitcase of my stuff in the back of the truck. Demanded cashier checks before the items were unpacked.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE THEIVES. THEY LITERALLY STOLE OUT OF MY HOME. ALREADY PACKED BOXES AND ALL. PRICE LINE LOGISTICS SENT THEM TO MY HOME AND DIDN'T EVEN TELL ME WHO WOULD BE MOVING MY ITEMS TIL THE DAY OF THE MOVE. ONCE ARRIVED AFTER LYING SEVERAL TIMES ABOUT THE DAY AND TIMEFORTHEMOVE. THEY HALF PACKED MY ITEMS. THEY HAD MOVED SOME ITEMS TO THE DOOR THAT THEY SAID THE COULD NOT SHIP, I TOLD THEM TO PUT THEM BACK. ONLY FOR THEM TO STEAL IT ANYWAY. AFTER I GAVE THEM A RIDE TO GET LUNCH, THEY STOLE PERSONAL ITEMS AND ALL SORTS OF THINGS. REFUSED TO FINISH THE JOB. MY HUSBAND AND I HAD TO DRIVE BACK 2 TIMES TO GET THE REST. 12 HOURS EACH WAY. AND THEY UP CHARGED US ALMOST 3 THOUSAND DOLLARS. THEY HAVE GIVEN US A VERY HARD TIME ON THE CLAIM FOR OUR STOLEN ITEMS. BROKEN ITEMS AS WELL. WE HADTO buy the protection for some of out items. THEY CAME WITH NOTHING! NO BUBBLE RAP, NOTHING. MANY DAMAGED ITEMS AND STOLEN. PRICELINE LOGISTICS SENT THEIVES TO MY HOME. AND I LET THEM KNOW. THEY PROMISE TO REIMBURSE $200 AND FLAT RATE $600. HAVEN'T SEEN A DIME IN WHICH THAT IS NOT NEARLY ENOUGH TO COVER WHAT WAS STOLEN NOR BROKEN. STAY AWAY FROM BOTH COMPANIES! ITS A SCAMMING BUSINESS. COPS WERE CALLED TWICE ON THEM. THIS SHOULD BE ILLEGAL!! WE PAID FOR A PACKAGE FROM PRICE LINE CALLED PLATINUM PACKAGE. IT WAS UNDERSTOOD THAT WE WOULD NOT HAVE TO LIFT A FINGER. THEY DID IT ALL. WE DID NOT RECEIVE THAT. I PACKED MOST OF IT BEFORE THEY ARRIVED BECAUSE THEY WERE DAYS LATE. WE WERE TOLD IF WE PAID FOR SOMETHING AND IT IS NOT DONE BY THEM, WE WOULD BE REIMBURSED. WE EVEN DROPPED ONE WHOLE ROOM OFF, 3 CLOSETS AND GOT NO REIMBURSEMENT AND GOT UPCHARGED! WE TOLD HER TO TAKE THE BEDROOM OFF, SHE SAID LEAVE IT CAUSE WE MIGHT ADD SOMETHING AND IT WILL BE PAID FOR. WE KEPT TAKING ITEMS OFF AND STILL GOT SCAMMED! THEY REFUSED TO ANSWER THE PHONE AT BOTH PLACES AND TO GET THEM YOU HAVE TO CALL BACK TO BACK FOR AN HOUR OR MORE, FINALLY THEY PICK UP. STILL TO THIS DAY AFTER FILING A CLAIM I HAVEN'T GOT NOTHING. NOT EVEN A PHONE CALL. ONE EMAIL MOUNTHS AGO SAYING WE WOULD HEAR SOMETHING SOON. EVERY TIME ITS A DIFFERENT EXCUSE. DO NOT USE THESE COMPANIES!! THEY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. THE MOVERS PLAYED AROUND THE WHOLE TIME. ...RUN!!! TOOK FOREVER TO GET OUR THINGS AS WELL. ALL THEY DID WAS ASSEMBLE 2 BR SUITS. AND WE PAID FOR PACKING AND UNPACKING. GOT NEITHER ONE! SCAMS!
