Definitely had my doubts seeing as I hadn’t heard of the company myself. Was recommended through a friend. But I’m glad I gave in. In the past I haven’t had the greatest experience with moving companies. They either don’t care and toss your possessions around or simply try and get everything done as fast as possible and something always seems to get damaged one way or another. I was surprised when their employees showed up, they took extra care of all of my belongings as if it was there own. They didn’t rush into the job trying to get out of there. They understood the value of belongings and did whatever they could to make sure nothing was damaged. Very professional and would recommend.

Five Star Moving Company is the worst unprofessional moving Company I have ever had the displeasure of hiring. The previous representative, Rick, was awesome and provided quality customer service initially, which made me select them as a hire. It went all downhill after I signed the agreement. Rick was let go and I had to work with Scott. He is extremely condescending and cares nothing about customer satisfaction. As the Broker, he should have ensured communication and assistance with the movers. From the bungled pick up time hours late, all the way to the destination, EVERYTHING went horribly wrong. When contacted, he stated he had nothing further to do with the way I was treated as he was paid as the Broker and he was done with the process. He was rude and disrespectful as well as misrepresented the cubic footage for my items and tried to obtain more funds from me and hold my items hostage. This Company receives a BIG FAT ZERO as far as a rating and I ask anyone to trust me and DO NOT use Five Star Moving as yourBroker in any way shape or form. I am saving you a ton of money and aggravation!!

Looked into a number of companies. This was recommended to me by a friend of mine and was told these people would take care of me. Let me tell you. They did exactly that. The first time I called I was in contact with one their sales rep Austin who did nothing but an amazing job. He didn’t try and up sell his company by saying they’re better or superior than any of their competitors. A fair and honest sales rep is very hard to find now days. He asked about the details of the job and assured me everything would be taken care of and it would be hassle free. Upon arrival the team members were very friendly and outgoing.

I gave this company two stars only because Thomas the owner was very nice and I felt he was pretty honest and trying to help. It also helped a LOT that I was super friendly and didn’t rip into anyone at any point. I hired this company for a move from Dallas, TX to Coos Bay, OR. Pickup date was to be on the 18th or 19th of August. I didn’t find out FiveStar would NOT be the one moving us until the day of the move when it was a company named Move Us To Relocation located in Denton TX (run like the wind from this company. Run. Like. The. Wind.). First thing to do when hiring a moving company: make sure it is the actual company who is doing the moving, and not a broker who will contract it out to the lowest bidder. I thought the company I hired would be doing the moving- wrong. I checked their reviews and they were good, but up until the day they had the other company pick up our belongings, I thought it would be Five Star doing the move. Second thing to do when hiring: read the contract. Thoroughly. The down side, is you generally can’t read it until you sign and give a deposit, which is too late at that point or you possibly lose your deposit at the very least. I used plastic 30 gallon containers for the majority of our belongings, and I’m thankful I did that as opposed to cardboard boxes. The reason I did it that way was so I could get a really accurate estimate on what my cost would be, with no surprises. We moved a 3 bdrm house with a couple of things that you wouldn’t normally have in a move, perhaps (Bowflex and large treadmill) and we also had a fridge, washer and dryer, and those were the big items of that nature. It still came to $5,850.00 give or take a few dollars, $1100 deposit paid at the time I set it all up (I want to say in July), half of the remainder due at pick up, other half due at delivery which has all been paid. The reason I’m doing this review is because I would hate to see anyone else go into a move like this, thinking that the company you are hiring is the company who will be doing your move, if they by chance aren’t and they are contracting it out. I would hate to see anyone else pay out this massive amount of money believing that you are going to get good service simply because you’re paying a much higher price to receive better service, and then find out it definitely isn’t so. I would hate to see anyone else believe they are getting the entire story about their move (did you know the moving company, the one that actually moves you, has up to 30 BUSINESS days AFTER the last day they are supposed to deliver your belongings to actually show up? That’s business days, NOT counting weekends..which puts it out at well over a month above and beyond..). I would hate to see anyone learn this very long and difficult lesson we have learned-our belongings were supposed to be here no later than September 9th, which would be the end of the 2-3 week window we were given, we didn’t receive them until September 27th, and that only after I filed a BBB complaint against the actual movers (Move Us To Relocation in Denton, TX). I was told by Five Star that the movers were really having a difficult time with Covid, which would be perfectly understandable..if that were the case, but I found out through the actual mover’s dispatcher that our belongings were sitting in some filthy, dusty, dirty warehouse in Texas up until 2 days before they brought it out to us. I will be doing a review of that company too, talk about a horror story..so, in summation if you are going to use a moving company and pay out a lot of your hard-earned money thinking you will get better service? Make sure the company is the one who will be doing your actual move, and NOT just a broker who might very well just give it out to anyone with a panel truck and bad reviews. Find out if they are allowed to spread it out over 30 business days beyond what they are telling you. Find out if you can read their contract BEFORE you sign. If they are contracting it out, find out WHO TO and check on that company. In all honesty, if I had known what I know now, I would have taken every penny of that money, rented a truck, flown my son and a friend out to move us, paid them handsomely for their time and trouble, flown them back..and had our stuff within a week instead of a month and a half after the fact. And without motor oil from our lawnmower (which was laid on its side) dripped down into TAPED plastic lidded storage containers of business jackets and my husband’s military uniform (which had to have been placed upside down to get the oil into the container to begin with). But live and learn. I hope that this review will help someone not to make the same very expensive mistake that we made.

I spent 30 minutes on the phone with them going over everything I had to move from NC to MI. They told me how much room I would need to move, the cost, and everything should be good to go.

When the mover got there......We were charged an additional 2x more than the first quote. So instead of $600 we paid $1800!

I called them and they said there is nothing they can do. I was so angry. They didn't care and at that point I was hostage.

I would never go back here.

Overall great company, I forget the sales reps name but everyone from top to bottom was pretty efficient. Was moving a 3 bedroom home so already for me from the beginning was stressful. Everything was scheduled and ready to go a month in advance so that really gave me some relief. The guys showed up did there thing and we were off to NC in about 3 hours. Met the truck there and was a little bumpy getting the boxier items up the stairs but they came up with this specific plan to rotate a bunch of ways and I was amazed! everything was neatly wrapped and even set up where I wanted it so I thought that was cool. Definitely using these guys again another big move coming up in 2 years.Thanks!!
