Highly Recommend

I was worried about moving during the pandemic, luckily Five Star helped tremendously. Everyone there was helpful and the movers respected all my belongings. No damage was done, and the movers made sure I was satisfied with their work. If I ever move again I will be using Five Star for sure.

Long-distance move from New York, NY to Indianapolis, IN

Unbelievable disaster

If I could give less than one star I would. It is 6:30pm the day of our partial pack and move. The house is not packed. The movers have been gone for 3 hrs getting additional materials. They came to a 2 bedroom home with ONE pack of paper. I went to buy more paper to help them save time, and got into a car accident.

90% of our belongings were in bins, labeled and categorized. This move should have been straightforward and smooth. Instead, 6 hrs after arrival my house looks like it did when they arrived. Austin will not answer the phone. Thomas hung up on my husband. This is the most unprofessional, low quality move I have I ever witnessed. I have moved east coast to west coast 5 times- I am not a novice.

These movers were unprepared, which means their broker did not set them up for success. Add to it they were slow, and absent from 3-6:30 pm, I just have no words.

Find a qualified trucking company instead

Five Star Moving Company does not have a good system to estimate cost of move or have any control over final delivery since they are just the broker. Apparently, they don’t investigate the actual movers assign either. When the mover “Road to Load” arrived at my house and evaluated the items moving, they increased the price by $3000. I had already given Five Star a deposit and cancelation period was 3 days prior to move, so I figured I was out my deposit if I turned them away, so I accepted the new cost. They also wanted a money order which I was not told at the time of booking that a credit card would not be accepted. My items were going into storage for the free 30-day time period. When I called the week of delivery to get a time estimate, the mover could not give me one. I was finally told there was a delay, but I would get delivery sometime that weekend, which did not happen, and no calls. I checked the BBB and the mover they assigned to me is rated F! If I am able to get the mover to answer the phone it is one excuse after another. Five Star is not helpful in getting responses either, except in telling me that legally they have 21 business days to deliver and it is a very busy time of year. They did not offer any alternative to get my items out of storage and delivered to me. It is now a month later, past the “21 business days”, and I still do not have delivery of my possessions. I recommend you book directly with a highly rated moving company and avoid the hassle. With what I am paying, I could have used a #1 well know moving company.
