Long-distance move from Stanford, CA to Seattle, WA

Low Quality Crooks.

Please please please do not use JJ Moore Moving moving services or Executive Moving and Storage. They are unprofessional, terribly rude and more importantly, they are scammers. I was particularly pleased with the estimate I was given and I told them I would get back to them with a decision. The salesman, John C, kept calling me trying to convince me any way he could to choose them. 2 days later I told them I would use their service but I hadn’t paid yet.
I got a call from another service who wanted me to pay a little more, but I felt pretty sketchy about j&j so I was going to switch. I call John to let him know but he kept pushing and pushing, so I finally agreed - I just couldn’t deal with the stress anymore and I told him this and that I was very unhappy with the service. I pretty much knew my things were at risk but I didn’t care so much because of the stress (I had a limited time to move out of my dorm and I didn’t have a lot of stuff). My move was for Saturday/Sunday and they gave me no information about who was picking my things up or when. I had to relentlessly call and email to get the information.(which I didn't get by Friday) They had Executive Moving & Storage to transport my things because turns out J&J is a broker. The guys who came to pick up my things were really nice and came on time but that was the first and last decent service I received. Until 2 weeks after, Exec didn’t offer me any information about when my things would arrive.
I called them 2 Wednesdays later and they said my things would be in transit by Friday (4 more days) and the driver would give me a call; it would take 2-5 days from then. By next Monday, I gave them a call because I still didn’t hear from the driver, and Ashley of Exec Movers told me he should reach me Friday to deliver. Great, I cleared my Friday and had my dad time work off to help out. Then, I get a call from the driver on Wednesday that he would be arriving tomorrow 12-2; I told him that time definitely would not work because I had a really important appointment but I could do the morning or afternoon of that same day but 11:30-3 just couldn't work. He replied, “I did my job to call you I’m coming” “I don’t have to make no plans”, etc. The entire encounter was very rude. I called the office and explained the situation and they were also incredibly rude, I told them they could look into phone records and they would hear the customer service rep Ashley tell me Friday delivery; a manager even tried to tell me they emailed me to confirm (which they didn’t) so I asked her when and she said I was right and they did not. They just kept trying to get more money out of me. No apologies or sympathy, they were so rude as if I had done something wrong and I was a belligerent customer; I was nothing but kind and was sure to not be threatening. I had to cancel my meeting and then, the driver ended up coming over 3 hours after the delivery window. Basically, everyone at Executive Moving is incredibly rude, heartless, and so so dumb. I was lucky enough to get all my things but things listed fragile were not handled with care and many things were damaged. I never heard from J&J after I paid them their deposit. It is so worth it to use another company and I will be filing complains against both of these companies.
Also, Executive Moving has admitted they have had a problem with inside jobs stealing trucks and such - they "lose" your things and you only get 60 cents/lb without insurance so think about that. Please don't put yourself through the stress.

Long-distance move from California to Kansas

Worst Moving Company EVER.

This company is a joke, lets start with that. How did they get a full-star rating is beyond me! We moved from California to Kansas just a couple of months ago and the stress that we went through to just move our stuff across the country, cannot be explained. These "movers" showed up 3 days late and the evening before our flight to Kansas though they were scheduled to arrive almost a 1 1/2 week before. When they came, they bought the tiniest truck imaginable to move our three bedroom apartment despite knowing we have a lot of stuff. They then said they obviously cannot fit everything in their truck (duh!) so they will take half today and half on Friday (when I have left for Kansas already) There wasn't much I could do and had to get my stuff out of my apartment..at least as much as I could. I left for Kansas the next day and my friend had to come in and get the rest of the stuff moved out. Now here comes the money drama: they had originally asked me for $2,888. The guy had calculated it for me and showed me the price that would be for the ENTIRE move. I had agreed. Once I left Kansas, the dudes that came to pick the rest of my stuff on Friday come and tell me, it will be an additional $2,000 as they need to open a new contract because it will be counted as a "new" move. After arguing with them for over 4 hours, I managed to convince them to load up the stuff and bring it to me and then we'll talk. They agreed. Upon arrival in Kansas, my server, my dining table, two office tables, two headboards, one night table were all damaged. One office table was completely destroyed, and one table's entire side was chipped off. And a carton was missing. Once they unloaded the stuff, I went to check how much space in the truck my stuff really took and it wasn't more than 1000 cu. ft, but they charged me for 1,400 cu ft.! I payed an extra $2,000-something to movers who damaged and stole more than half of my stuff! How are they a business is beyond me!

Long-distance move from Utah to North Dakota

Crooks, Thieves, Charlatans!!

Was lied to every step of the way. Salesman were sweet as can be until the contract was signed and then the salesman mysteriously was unreachable. The individual in charge of dispatch was a rude, condescending [EDIT] (nicest words I can come up with).
Despite my protests the day of the move they showed up with a truck that was half-full already--necessitating leaving a bunch of my stuff in my old garage until they could dispatch another truck to take it to storage.  It was then taken back to Vegas, moved who knows how many times and then packaged on another truck.
The truck also had the name of a different moving company (one that has horrible reviews) leaving me to question if this is just rebranding for a crappy company that wanted a fresh start.
End result--almost every piece of furniture I own was damaged in some way.  Corners were smashed in, legs of chairs snapped, treadmill left in pieces. Thousands of dollars of damage.
And then--they were kind enough to refer me to the third party impersonal internet site that handles the moving claims and 120 days later I get a slap in the face in the form of a low-ball offer that covers essentially nothing.
I expect a few dings and even a few breaks in a big move. But the level of dishonesty, rudeness and lack of professionalism displayed by "Executive" moving and storage is truly remarkable.
Please do yourself a favor and avoid at all costs.

Long-distance move from California to Florida

A good Moving company.

Hi,
My name if Walter and I would like to reccomand the guys who've helped me with my move to the east coast, to be honest I had my concerns about them after reading some reviews here on this site but they explained to me that the reviews are'nt genuine and being posted by their competition. I took a chance and I have to say that I can't complain about my expirience with them.
They were good, on time price was good ($1,855), they took their time to pack but I think I would rather wait another hour than having my stuff get damaged along the way so that is fine by me.

I can't relate to these complaint below, I feel good about my choice to move with them and reccomand it to every person who reads this review.

Kathy, my representative was so nice and kind, I promised her I will return a favor and I'm happy to do so.

Long-distance move from Nevada to Arizona

Please stay away from this company.

In dealing with Executive Moving out of Las Vegas, it was an extremely frustrating and unprofessional experience.  To start off brief and direct, PLEASE DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY.  There were no follow-up calls, rude customer service, broken belongings, missing items, and ignored calls and messages.  If you want details, read on…..  It seemed as though they were great, until they had my money.  I was dealing with Kathy and Steven in the setup of the move, after that is when the problems start.  I was told I would get a confirmation call the day before the pick-up, when I received no call throughout the day I called them in the evening, no one called back so I emailed Kathy who finally got dispatch to call me.  They claimed their truck was broke down and would not make it for my pick-up date (Tuesday,) it would be Thursday or Friday.  Throughout the week, again no call, I kept calling and on Friday they finally called me back and were picking up on Saturday.  I was moving for my job, so all of this delayed my travels to the new city by three days.  I voiced my frustrations to dispatch who told me “I should find another company then.”  At that point I had already inquired with other companies and it was too late.  Things happen out of our control, yes.  I would not blame them for a broken down truck, but it is also important to keep the lines of communication open, isn’t it?? My belongings arrived from NV to AZ in two business days, good timing.  But belongings were broken that they had wrapped themselves, I did not notice until after the truck left and I am unpacking.  I had a broken shelf AND an LCD TV!!  I also had a missing picture.  I called to file a claim and was told to call customer service, what seemed to be someone inconspicuous cell phone and nothing other than “this is customer service, leave a message.”  In the midst of trying to get settled in my new home and job, two weeks later I still have yet to receive and call back from their “customer service department”.  I also emailed Kathy with no response. I was told by the driver who came to pick my stuff up that there are constantly complaints of similar issues when he shows up for a move, that people are misled, and service is terrible.  After this experience, the stress of moving and starting a new job, I would not recommend using this company.  It was very worrisome questioning if they were going to pick up my stuff and when.  I had considered at one point that the company was a scam but Kathy kept reassuring they were not, and by the time the move came around it was too late to book with another company.  I wanted to spend the time to write my experience in hopes I can deter other consumers in having the same stressful experience I did. .

Long-distance move from Arizona to Florida

Totally unprofessional and unethical.

Worst experience. Never choose this movers you will end up in complete mess. They gave a lesser quote and day of the move they doubled the quote and you will not have any choice ending up paying that amount and it didn't stop at that. First of were very late first of all then two guys came to my place not intereseted to pack the things, complaining so many items to pack, ofcourse the price for packing was covered as part of my  bill.  Then they told it will take 12 hours to pack and they know our flight is in next 12 hours. They were threating that we might end up breaking the TV during the move so better take insurance. AND finallay I got pissed off  and told I cancelled the move and they were saying we will charge upto 80$ for waiting charage, really unprofessional.   I would suggest go for a professional movers even if it cost lettle higher. Do end up like mine.

Long-distance move from Arizona to Oklahoma

Worst moving company ever.

Unbelievable experience. 40 inch flat screen, 12 foot roll of rugs, space heater, all missing.  They told me they found my TV, but never delivered it. No response from their 'insurance' company. Items were being thrown off the truck onto the ground.  Boxes were delivered upside down, bent, ripped and filthy dirty.  Mattresses were in mattress covers which were ripped leaving mattresses with dirt, stains and black hand prints all over them. Furniture, which they dis-assembled, was not reassembled upon delivery.  They refused to do the extra pick up at delivery, which was in the contract. Every box had damaged items in it, every piece of furniture was broken, damaged or missing parts. Had to call them repeatedly to get my furniture delivered, even though they had weeks notice, they still showed up late. This company breached every area of the contract and I have had no luck reaching this supposed insurance company. I have never dealt with any company like this, they are completely lacking in ethics, they breached every area of the contract and they just plain do not care.

Long-distance move from California to New York

Moving.

I'm sure when they first stated out years ago - they were very business like- customer oriented. Worked very well with the customer's needs. NOT NOW!! 1. You talk with a rep & they make everything look so easy & set up so nice- whatever you want! 2. Set up a date to pick up (maybe it will happen within the time frame for you dates.(50/50 chance). The money is all cash. You ask why? Because, they don't trust anyone who has good sources of income & will not accept your gold cards/credit cards/debit cards/Checks/Money Orders/ Nothing but COLD HARD CASH! They want that money in their hands! They've dealt with most of their customers & none of them are trustworthy & can only have $$. Pay 1/2 up front-maybe will pick up & pay 1/2 at the end. No shenanigans! Cash up front before stuff is dropped off at delivery location. All the while you do no get your move when they first promised you. You may get it in a month or so. Even though the date says, "Available "First" delivery date"- that don't mean nothing! IT's a JOKE! The best part- when you call in to explain & ask what's going on they tell you, "Well, if you read your contract!! it's says..7 to 14 days after the first delivery date on your contract. WHY EVEN BOTHER?? Once they get the money's -- They don't care what you do & how long they can make you wait for your services. If you don't all better. They'll keep everything they want. Broken, smashed, dirty, ruined. You name it- they really don't care about your belongings. You'll be lucky if you see anything within a 3 or 4 months span. depending if you take their incredible offer of 3 months storage free if you go with them!! That gives them more time to lose/break/smash/tear/ruin everything in your haul. So if that sounds like a good deal for you, go for it, and put up with the unprofessionalism of this crooked company and use them. If you want a good company to do professional business with, go with another company that answers their phones & tells them the truth about the time allotments & when everything will be co-ordinated in advance. Not leaving anything to worry or wonder if it will every make it to its destination. Good Luck, Stay away from this NASTY BUSINESS!!

Long-distance move from Michigan to Texas

Terrible move to Texas.

07/28/16 Moved from Michigan to Texas. Terrible experience. damaged goods, furniture held hostage for twice as long as
promised. Run don't walk away from this company.
Salesman are slick talkers and will tell you anything to get the sale with a cheap quote.Pay a little more money and get a decent honest company.
This company is pretending to be a big company, probably operating out of a house or apartment. I believe they attempt to
get as many orders as possible then try to scrap up drivers to go where you are going. Lies, excuses and more lies, stay
away.

Moving experience.

Worst rating! All was well..until they had money. They were a day late, resulting in additional expenses. Offered $100 which they never sent. Broken TV. Said to file a claim. Did that. No follow up. Never return phone calls. Charged an additional 450, for a transfer truck, which they did not even say would be needed. Very disappointed. Never use these guys!
