Evergreen Van Lines

This is my second time using Evergreen Van Lines and both times I had an excellent experience. Prior to the move, the company was responsive in helpful in getting me prepared for the day of the move. On that day, my movers arrived early, were communicative and friendly, and worked diligently and carefully to prepare all of my items for the move. They went above and beyond making sure that items that would be kept in storage for a period of time were protected. The entire move was done incredibly fast and came in under the estimate. Julio was the lead in the job and he was fantastic! I can honestly say I’m looking forward to my next move to have these guys back!

I have been extremely impressed with Evergreen Van Lines with their professionalism, honesty and follow up throughout my move process. They are honest when they commit to their estimates and the fact that they are more than happy to bring it down if the move is not as intense as we thought - I ended up doing some packing on my own to help expedite things and they were more than happy to recognize that in their overall cost - as well as they were more than happy to use some of my supplies to box things vs charging me based on what they brought. I am extremely pleased with the experience and the reviewers are completely accurate in their positive views. I would highly recommend them.

Evergreen Van Lines was extremely responsive. They called as soon as I inquired thru google. was very easy - I just walked thru the hose and told them what I had. They sent me a written estimate very quickly too. We had difficulty - because our closing date keep changing. Evergreen Van Lines wanted a $100 deposit that would be forfeited if we changed the date. The date we ended up having to move, Evergreen Van Lines was not available. However, the owner tried to work something out for me. He called me himself with times he could move us. Hopefully, I will never move again. But if I do, I will call Evergreen Van Lines!

We had the team of 5 movers come out and move us out of our 2bed 2bath elevator building into a third floor walk up. Our building double booked the freight evaluator requiring them to use the general elevator. They were very accommodating and didn’t mind a bit. I was more upset with the elevator issue then then. The team worked fast and efficiently. They finished the job faster than what was estimated. They took apart and put back together furniture better than I could have. They are very friendly and were always smiling. This is our third move with Evergreen Van Lines and will continue to use them for our moving needs.

When most people think about moving, they think about the stress of getting all of their things from place to place. But I didn’t have to go through this alone. When I moved, I used the moving service Evergreen Van Lines. While they were working with me to move, they weren’t like other companies that send rude people to your house to help you to move. With Evergreen Van Lines, the company sent movers that helped me move all of my furniture and other belongings out of my house and into my new house. The movers even talked to use as if we were friends. I would recommend this company for anyone.

I recently made my first big move for a job. Evergreen Van Lines made the moving process very easy and stress-free. The movers were very careful with my things and were friendly and efficient! I was very nervous about damaging my property or movers that were careless but they put all my worries at ease. My things arrived at the new house exactly the way they were before they were packed away. Will definitely recommend Evergreen Van Lines to anyone looking for a mover.

Evergreen moved my 1-bedroom from Boston to Denver, estimating it to be around $3150. I figured I spend about $2k trying to do the move myself, and decided to go with them. I did this assuming that the estimated cost would be accurate and the service would be superior. That's how Evergreen positions themselves. I would not have picked Evergreen had I known the price would be jacked up 2k. I would have just done the job myself.

I was prepared for the true cost to go up once the actual cubic feet was measured upon pickup, but was only expecting a variable of around $500. They ended up delivering me a bill that was $2000 greater than my estimate. That's a 60% increase. My inventory list had barely fluctuated. I had ended up selling furniture that was originally on the list, but had added a few extra small boxes (at most 7). What felt really sketchy was at the end of the pickup, the movers brought me to the back of the truck to inform me I had gone over the estimated cubic square footage. The organizer pointed to the back of the truck where my stuff was piled to visually confirm the square footage. However, they had stood my king size mattress up on its side, completely blocking the view of all my other possessions. This just felt sketch.

Additionally, at the end of pick-up, the movers notified me that there would be an 8 percent surcharge if I used my credit card to pay the deposit. This was brand new information to me and resulted in my partner and I running around for an hour trying to get money out of ATMs and work with our banks who thought the transactions were fraudulent. I felt so bad for the three movers who had to wait for 45 minutes in the car while we tried to figure it out. Earlier in the week Evergreen assured me that I could pay with credit card upon pickup, but never mentioned an 8% surcharge. I could have been prepared with a cash deposit if I was informed.

Furthermore, the total of the bill was incorrectly calculated. If you summed all of the line items including out deposit, discount, fees, etc... the total outstanding should have been $2,032, not $2050. Not a huge difference, but like come on. We were also charged and extra $100 for a long carry. A long carry is when there is an extra flight of stairs for the movers to navigate. I suggested the movers take the elevator to the ground level, where they would only need to step up 2 steps. They instead insisted on moving everything out onto the first level and walked down an additional flight of steps that lead up to the building. This felt dishonest.

I've been trying to work with Evergreen's support to resolve these issues (this review is a last resort). To be fair, they have been somewhat responsive, but more reactive than proactive. I've been the one to need to follow up every couple days or week. And more to the point, none of these issues have been resolved.

I'm writing this review 18 days after pickup. After receiving 0 updates about when I might expect my belongings to arrive, I just got a call that they would be arriving sometime this afternoon. Evergreen said I'd be getting a call a couple days before delivery so that I'd be prepared. Now I have to cancel all my afternoon meetings. It's the cherry on top of the cake.

TLDR: I wouldn't use Evergreen Van Lines. From my experience they fall into the same category as many other national movers out there - dishonest and not worth the value of service. If you're trying to figure out how to move yourself to another state, I'd say stick with a Penske truck rental. At least you are in control of the situation and not stuck with a 2 grand price increase. I'm giving them a C+ because at least their team has been in contact with me.

I never write reviews for any business, but after the amazing experience I had with Evergreen Van Lines, I felt they deserved it. The delivery itself was without a hitch, I was particularly worried about my glass dining room table because it is very fragile, but all pieces of furniture were transferred without a single scratch. I am very picky about these types of things and they exceeded my expectations. A normally very stressful experience was made pleasant with Evergreen Van Lines!

I used Evergreen Van Lines just recently when I decided to shift from apartment to the newly bought house. I was quite freaked out initially about the whole process of moving, but luckily one of my friends told me about Evergreen Van Lines. I am so glad that I got to know of them. The whole moving process was carried out in a very professional manner by the company people. They were very respectful, cooperative and well mannered. They adhered to all of our special requests, the fragile goods were dealt with delicately and all of our stuff was moved to our house in its original state without any broken goods. I was totally satisfied with my experience, and would absolutely recommend everyone to use this company whenever you plan to move. The services provided are very convenient and affordable.

I got the movers name from Angie's list which gave them a high rating. The movers arrived at the time they said they would and were very efficient and well organized. They were careful in wrapping all of the furniture in blankets followed by shrink wrapping. There were a few minor dings on wall surfaces and a few scratches on the ends of furniture legs which missed the wrapping process. We have been moved several times in the past by other professional movers and Ever Safe was among the best.

Now these guys are professional movers...from start to finish these 4 young lads worked like dogs, and it was a long day that included a 120 mile ride to my new residence...the front office was well organized with excellent communication skills, and the 4 lads could not have been nicer or more professional. They treated my furniture like it was their own. And the price was VERY reasonable considering all the work that went into the move... I'd use this company even if I was moving across the street!!!

I was very surprised watching them to do such a smooth move. They moved us from my two bedrooms apartment to the newly purchased Condo in Louisiana. The guys have been super alert for the new buildings walls and floors. They were not so quick but they were perfect. The guys completed the job in their estimated window. I was again surprised when they billed us. It was fairly priced. The cost was definitely more reasonable than other quotation I received from other guys. I think everyone needs to hire them for a professional and trustworthy moving experience.

Moving from one place to another is a very difficult task. I was scared at the thought of moving my possessions to a different place. However, I am glad that I came across Evergreen Van Lines on the internet. The people at Evergreen Van Lines are very generous and supportive. The moving crew was friendly and paid attention to every minute instruction that I gave them. They were careful of my belongings and delivered them unbroken. Their service was quick and efficient. If I have to move again some time, I will definitely give them a call first.

Evergreen Van Lines is an absolute pleasure to work with. I was a nervous wreck trusting my expensive tv to just any moving company, I had looked around and found Evergreen Van Lines. I was impressed from the very first phone call. She quoted a rate of $3100. It was much less than the prior 4 companies that I called. The girl on the phone assured me that my television would be treated as if it was her own. It was true. It was packed neatly and my concerns were all addressed. My very thin 65 inch LED television is in meticulous condition. I am thrilled with how I was treated like family when working with them. Thank you again Evergreen Van Lines.

I move frequently due to my work and usually opt to do the job myself because of bad experiences with movers and I’m just not comfortable entrusting my belongings to someone else’s care. I needed help, however, and I am so glad that I got it! I called Evergreen Van Lines and I found out how simple everything could be. My moving process went more smoothly than it has ever gone before. It was affordable and beyond convenient. I have never felt so little stress during a move. Everything was taken care of for me quickly and everyone I dealt with was courteous and professional. All of my things arrived safely and undamaged. I would definitely recommend this company.

We used Evergreen Van Lines for moving from California to Atlanta and I cannot say enough good things about them. The phone support people work with you to get things on a schedule you can live with. The driver who dropped the trailer (Steven) was a walking ad for them, he was THAT good. He asked where we wanted the trailer, placed it exactly where we wanted, and helped answer any questions we had. It was the same with when we were finished loading, a simple call to the local terminal was all it took (talked to manager there, by accident, no way it was a complaint call) and they scheduled pickup. Everyone we talked with were friendly and efficient. All went well and the same was true on the receiving end. Evergreen Van Lines provide an excellent service to its customers. I am very impressed. I strongly recommend this moving company to everyone. They really cares about doing a good job.

Overall, great moving experience. The crew was very professional and friendly.They arrived on time, packed all of the items carefully, and labeled them. During loading and unloading they were careful with every piece of furniture, especially when moving the bed and bookcases downstairs. Disassembled items were reassembled carefully in my new house just as I specified. Every box was kept in their respective rooms and I did not have to worry about any mixups. The workers were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely use them again and have already recommended them to my college friends who are moving later this month!

Evergreen Van Lines, LLC deserves Zero star for the worst service that we have ever dealt with.

Be aware that Evergreen is NOT a full-service moving company with their own trucks, and they are simply a moving coordinator/broker (hidden in the fine print of their website).

In addition, they are NOT Better Business Bureau (BBB) accredited.

So don’t be fooled by all the good reviews and low moving estimates.

If you read my review below, you will understand how they take advantage of innocent customers.

In early May, we arranged four moves together from Cleveland, OH to Dallas, TX with Scott (point of contact at Evergreen) who set up this scam.

Until getting quotes and depositing 1/3 of their moving estimates, they were very responsive.

However, as soon as they received the deposit, their attitude changed completely.

Prior to the scheduled pick-up dates on 6/28/2021 and 6/29/2021, their dispatch team didn’t call us to confirm the final details, and nobody responded back to our phone calls, voice messages, and emails in a timely manner.

Their estimates were absolutely inaccurate even after FaceTime video walk-through.

Here is how much they quoted and how much I ended up paying: My house (estimated $9,100 but paid 15,756, almost 1,000 cu ft discrepancy without additional items), University lab (estimated $2,535 but paid $3,685), Company lab (estimated $3,715 but paid $4,764) and Dr. J’s house (estimated $5,091 but paid $7,440).

We strongly believe that they intentionally underquoted moving costs, misled us into signing the contract, and then surprised us with the bill on the day of the move.

Since they failed to pick up our stuffs on the dates scheduled two months ago, we had to reschedule it.

They refused to compensate additional costs incurred by the rescheduling, including labor costs of helpers, renting storage spaces, hotel booking, cancelation of travel reservation, etc.

On the rescheduled pick-up dates on 7/2/2021 and 7/3/2021, they hired a very small, local moving company, whom had no responsibility to match the quoted price.

We had no choice but to accept the final bills because it was too late to find another moving company, and we would lose our deposit (a total of $6,870 for our four moves) if canceling.

It took us three weeks to have our stuffs delivered.

Of course, there were dozens of items broken, and the movers refused to assemble furniture they disassembled.

Oh, I didn’t mention the worst part yet.

Evergreen allocated $680 out of $3,200 deposit without our consent for non-existing “full value protection” insurance and refused to refund the money unless we sign an unfair agreement, essentially prohibiting us from suing Evergreen and posting bad reviews.

Now we clearly understand how they do business and maintain their good reviews.

They took our deposit illegally and held us in a hostage situation, trying to make us unable to hire another moving company and write bad reviews.

What they did to us is criminal, and Evergreen Van Lines is a scam.

We will bring a lawsuit with our lawyer against Evergreen Van Lines for their wrong doings.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $16000

They basically get a portion of the money for the move as finders fee. They make the deal with you and then hand it off to the lowest bidder who will not honor the agreements you had with Evergreen. A move that was agreed with Evergreen to be done is 7 to 14 days took a month. Our household goods sat for almost 2 weeks in San Jose, CA in a warehouse of Air1 Movers, then when they finally decided to actually move our goods to the east coast, they took them to Chicago (at another moving company). There, they sat for another week before being moved to TN. When the did arrive, it was Budget rental truck with one guy. He had to delay moving us in while he advertised on Craigslist to get some help to unload the truck. Needless to say, with all this re-handling and passing things off, several items are damaged and missing. Find a different company to help you move! Once Evergreen makes the deal, they GHOST you bigtime! They don't return your calls or even care about you or your deal with them.

DO NOT USE. THE WORST COMPANY WE HAVE EVER WORKED WITH.

Background: Military family moving from TX to VA. We booked the move ourselves (not through the military). Scheduled move 3 months out to ensure we get the dates we needed. Large 4+ bedroom move. Gave deposit of $3k at the time of booking.

We received a call the week of our move confirming our move date and times. The foreman was supposed to come the day before our move (Friday) to inventory and do paperwork. Friday comes and we have heard nothing from the foreman or Evergreen. I called them late on Friday (day before our move) to inquire about the status of our move since I had heard nothing from them. After calling 10+ times (a common theme in this story) they finally answer the phone and tell me that our move will not be happening the next day because "the truck broke down" and had to reschedule us for 2 days later. We had stressed to them over and over (from time of booking to the week of the move) that we had to be out of the house by our moving day and made them confirm that THIS EXACT SCENERIO would not happen to us. They promised and promised that it would not get pushed back any further and they had already lined everything up for the movers to be there on the rescheduled day (Monday). After calling 20+ times over the weekend, I finally get someone (Shelly) on the phone to confirm that the movers will be there in the morning on Monday and she confirmed that they would be at our house between 8am-10am. Obviously 10am arrives the next day and I can get a hold of anybody at Evergreen. Once I finally do, from my wifes phone because I am positive they blocked my number, they had no idea that I was supposed to be moved that day and then told me "the driver has COVID". After finally getting a manager (Adam?) on the phone he says that he received word Sunday night that "the entire moving crew has COVID" (totally not true) and that the information just never got relayed to me. They offered to reschedule for the following Saturday (1 week after our original move date). I then receive a call later that day from Shelly again saying that EVERGREEN IS COMPLETELY CANCELING MY MOVE FOREVER! They could not find anyone to move me and canceled completely on us, with no remorse or compensation other than returning our money. I then was transferred to their legal representative (Lee) when I started asking them for compensation for the thousands of dollars that we had incurred since they had canceled 3x on us. I was told by Lee that he would get back to me after talking with corporate, but no surprise, I have not heard from him in 2 days and cannot get anyone to answer my calls.

My wife, family, friends, and I will be sharing this story, and all the other terrible reviews that I have heard about, to the US NAVY Personal Property department, TANSCOM, and through the military community (forums, facebook, etc.) to make sure that this FRAUD of a company goes out of business. As someone who used to work for a moving company, this company should be destroyed for its unethical negligence and I will make sure I do everything possible to make our story heard. We will be pursuing legally.

TLDR: DO NOT be suckered in by low ball quotes, your move will not happen because they will dump your move to move someone else for more money. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. Don't believe a word they say, they will lie to you just to get you off the phone.
