Long-distance move from Bethesda, MD to Los Angeles, CA

Worst moving experience - stay away!

I would strongly recommend you stay away from this company for your moving needs. My experience has been absolutely horrendous and I do not use this word lightly.

I arranged a coast-to-coast move with them from MD to CA. While the quoted price was lower than competitors, I still have not received my items although it has been 8+ days since the expected delivery date - I am completely in the dark as to where my stuff is or when they will deliver it. Their customer service is horrible (they do not respond to their phones and do not call you back for updates when they say they will).

Do not be fooled if they offer you a price lower than competitors as you will end up paying for it later with move delays, lack of communication, a terrible moving experience and other headaches in general.

Will update later on how long it takes them to actually deliver my items and the damages with delivery which I expect there will be plenty

HORRIFIC MOVE

Estimator came out, viewed 3BR 2500SF home, estimated large truck, 4 men, and 4 hour move out. The move was less then 1 mile to our new home. End result, 2 men, truck that required 3 loads/unloads, took 3 days, every piece of furniture damaged, on the fully insured move. Dropped furniture, broke 2 marble dresser tops, broke antique chair, antique cabinet. Going on month 4 and still attempting to resolve damages with their horrific claims department. Did I mention pulling up to our home the moving truck hit 2 neighbors mailboxes, which had to be fixed immediately! Recommend YOU CHOOSE ANOTHER COMPANY, as Allied Coleman has destroyed the joy of our new home and has caused us severe stress....Totally unprofessional, unreasonable and substandard to this industry! The movers were total clowns and hopefully have been terminated so they never do this to another consumer!

Long-distance move from Delray Beach, FL to San Francisco, CA

DO NOT Use these movers!

From start to finish, this move has been a nightmare. The load date was not "entered into the system" correctly only come to find out that the agent never updated the paperwork. They then had to "find packers" last minute and it showed in the number of broken items. Even on the load date, the movers packing packed with little care of attention to detail. Then, when it came time to setting my move date (my items were in storage for a time), I missed a critical window because the agent did not understand and/or explain the process at all. I was also forced to sign a move addendum increasing my cost by close to $800 because of the "time of year," which was never in my contract or explained to me at the beginning. It took me reaching out to Sirva customer service to get the simplest answer of whether I needed to obtain metered parking on my own or whether Allied would do it. (I have many email communications to verify the statements above.) Then, on delivery date, the driver did not know that they were unpacking. We ended up unpacking 90% of the boxes ourselves. I have moved across country 2x and internationally once, not including intrastate moves. I have never had such terrible communication and care, nor have I had so many items damaged or simply missing. Your tagline is a untrue. You are not "careful" at all and in fact are incredibly careless. I will be reaching out via social media and beyond to ensure others do not suffer this. All in, not including the damages and missing items, I have paid ~$15,000 for my move that should have been seamless. I have also paid for services you were supposed to provide (e.g., unpacking). Also, as an fyi, my driver told me that lighters were packed by Allied packers, which is a fire hazard, could have destroyed lives and property. Again, careless. I will forever warn anyone against using your company. That said, the two lights in the darkness, were Madison at customer care and Steven, my driver, who both did the best they could under the circumstances.

Long-distance move from Mount Pleasant, SC to Fairfax, VA

You’re moving, not your belongings

Where to begin? We moved from SC to VA. The movers showed up when they were supposed to, just to lull us into a false sense of security. They gave us a six day delivery window. We heard nothing during that time (common theme). So I called them on day 5/6. And to my surprise, our belongings had not even left SC. And even better, they couldn't tell me when they would arrive. After 5 days of radio silence, we found out our belongings would be delivered 10 days late. They told us to buy what we needed to get by, and they'd reimburse us. Another lie. Our belongings arrived with many boxes damaged, our antique dining room set damaged, and all of the hardware for all of our beds and dining tables missing. Their reply is the picture of indifference. RUN, DONT WALK AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!

Long-distance move from Tampa, FL to Spanish Fort, AL

WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE EVER

WORST MOVING COMPANY EVER. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. BE PREPARED TO DEAL WITH A COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT MOVERS, MOVING COORDINATERS AND MANAGERS. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS ME USE ANOTHER COMPANY!!!!

DETAILS:

06/11/2024 Pickup date of all requested inventory:

• Driver called @ 8:44 am eastern time stating the truck would arrive @ 9:10 am eastern time.

• NOTE: When the movers arrived, they did not have the appropriate equipment:

o They did not have any tools to disassemble the furniture. So I had to provide them the tools, even though I am the client and I am the one moving.

o They also did not have enough blanket and wrapping materials for the furniture so the inexperienced mover who was the driver went back to the Coleman office and that trip took roughly about 2 hours.

• The truck arrived @ 9:05am eastern time to begin loading the furniture .

o NOTE: There were two delivery points as agreed upon.

• One mover (the driver. The driver’s name was Terica.) was experienced and the other was not. The inexperienced mover was completely lost and spent several hours doing inventory as she did not know what to do and her colleague had to explain everything to her multiple times and she still could not comprehend what he was saying.

• While the experienced mover packed and wrapped items. The inexperienced mover was trying to figure out what to do. The experience mover overwrapped and some of the items and time could have been saved with less wrapping.

• I made two calls to Lydia Coleman (The moving Coordinator) starting @ 3:53 pm and then again @ 4:49 pm complaining about the pace of the movers and that they needed additional help. She never ever called me back with any updates. Lydia, the moving coordinators knew nothing about the movers who were sent to load the truck. I never ever heard from Lydia again that day who is the moving coordinator to confirm the following (The questions that keeps coming to my mind as client, what was the moving coordinator doing? Did she actually serve any value or purpose throughout this moving process?):

 Did the additional help show up?

• Additional assistance finally arrived around 5:30pm eastern time in the form of the Operations Manager, Joe, who got the movers to work faster. Joe realized that the movers should have been completed by now. Joe told the movers the way they were packing the truck through the side door was incorrect. Joe had to instruct the experienced mover how to park the truck so that they could be move efficient in loading the truck.

Joe realized additional help was needed, so he called Tony, the dispatch manager to come and help.

• The move was so inadequately planned for even though Coleman was provided with the inventory list prior to the move., that they had to leave all the ramps and pallets in my garage to be picked up the next day because they did not bring the right size van.

• By the time the movers left and the loading was completed, it was 7:51pm.

• So the movers arrived @ 9:05am eastern time and left 7:51pm eastern and that means the entire move took 10 hours and 46 minutes. When they finally left, Tony and the driver (experienced mover) finally admitted, that they needed to send additional experienced resources when she is working. Tony admitted, that he did not send enough resources on this job. This was a conversation he had with the driver (inexperienced mover) in the drive way.

• Joe the operations manager mentioned that because they bought the truck with too many ramps and palettes, those had to be left behind and picked up the next day on 06/12. This was a result of the this company not knowing what is the proper tools, resources and materials to the move. The next day when the same driver (Terica) arrived to pick up the ramps. She met in an accident out of the sub division.) She finally was able to pick up the ramps. My point here is that as a client I was beyond more than obliging and the moving company did not reciprocate by sending an experienced movers, provide appropriate resourcing, supervision, tools and materials for the move.

• This extremely dissatisfied moving experience provided by moving company made a very stressful process of moving my elderly mom even more stressful. I don’t believe it should have come to this had the moving company provided the correct amount of experienced human resources, tools, materials, etc. The moving company chose to let an experienced driver who has admitted that this is her first move lead the move and as a client we should suffer for bad decision making by Coleman Allied. The experience was so bad that we do not want another coleman allied employee or van near our homes.

Horrible, do not use!!

Do NOT use this company. they will say anything to get your business, purposely mislead you on the quote and hit you with major charges on the back end. I ended up paying over $6,000 more than I was quoted. Specifically David Smith and Cliff Yeager on the Atlanta team. Horrible business DO NOT USE.
